Pep Says Barca Can Lose

Futbolita 17 March @ 02:16 AM EDT

Oh Pep, he's totally saying "What dicha say about my PUYOLITA?" to that periodista huddled in the corner! And you'd better not mess, Lyon, because Barca know exactly what they want tonight and will probably go get it at the Nou Camp while singing "Cesc On!

Early Hull team news, Arshavin strikes again + Arsecast 154

Arseblog 12 March @ 04:18 AM EDT

Good morning, happy Friday and all that. Lots to get through starting with team news ahead of tomorrow's game against Hull.

Unusually Arsene's press conference took place yesterday. I don't know why. Perhaps they all have to attend a recital at which Fran Merida is doing a solo today. It's the only possible explanation I can think of.

Could Man U or Chelsea have won a game like this? No chance!

Untold Arsenal 10 March @ 12:23 PM EDT
By Walter Broeckx I have read somewhere over the internet that the pundits in England had a hard night. I can understand that. How can you explain Arsenal beating Porto with 5 -0 when you have been saying a whole season how bad we are. And then to realise we played without Cesc, Gallas and Van Persie. The Dane did Great!

Avenell Road 10 March @ 04:20 AM EDT

The media wasn't convinced and readied themselves for a caning, the fans were a little apprehensive, there was no Cesc, we had never turned a first leg defeat around since General Custer lost at Little Big Horn, the pressure was building.

Oh dear what a let down for the Arsenal knockers, we cruised it.

Is it Just Me Or?

All Four One, and One Four All! 09 March @ 06:41 AM EDT

Would you rather ride on a train, dance in the rain, feel no pain or be a fan of a football club which admittedly offers you ample opportunity to go on train rides, dance in the rain but feel a lot of pain?

Are we all hopeless addicts and is football our heroin?

Is the fact that there is a big game tonight weighing heavily on your mind resulting in a severe loss of productivity at work?

One man team, to hell we are……

Avenell Road 09 March @ 04:06 AM EDT

So many in the media say that we are a one man team, we are all about Cesc Fabregas and they even suggest that without him we have little threat. Didn't they say the same when we had Thierry Henry in our side?

Utter bollox I say we have a squad with players who can change a game. We have a manager who has got us playing wonderful football.

Wenger accepts the loss of Arsenal's talisman - who has an outside chance of returning for the trip to Hull on Saturday - is a big blow. Burnley preview – backlash time

It has been a long week. If it feels like it to you, imagine what the players have been through. Have Arsenal Really ‘Turned The Corner’?

EPL Talk 02 March @ 04:39 PM EDT

That's it then. Arsenal have officially turned the corner. In the same way that Eduardo's injury, Stuart Parnaby's dive and William Gallas's teary outburst reflected the collapse of their 2007-08 title challenge, so Ramsey's injury, Danny Pugh's waving arms and Cesc Fabregas's penalty will reflect Arsenal's glorious rampage to the title.

Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels 1 – 3 Classy, Brave Warriors: Positives Galore

Desi Gunner 28 February @ 11:53 PM EDT

Yesterday, I was too distraught to write a match review. Even now I am quite peeved but there were too many positives in the game and I think it deserves a proper mention even though the horrendous tackle cast a gloomy shadowed all the bright moments.

The start of the game reminded me of our previous two visits to this stadium.

It is all to easy to forget that players mature mentally too

The Beautiful Groan 25 February @ 02:12 PM EDT

It can be tough being a young player at Arsenal. Thrust into the limelight at an earlier age than those at rival clubs, they are subject to instantaneous judgement, to an often brutal degree. Some thrive, able to cope with such a high pressure environment at a young age, maturing quickly and gaining experience unavailable elsewhere.

Individual errors prove costly..again!!!

Avenell Road 18 February @ 03:57 AM EDT

I'm not normally one to hide behind excuses when the lads get beat. To be honest I find them all incredibly boring. Every year we hear the same things such as our injuries hampered us, we've got no money, the media are against us and the referees are anti arsenal. After so long I lose interest in debating with these people because that's what footballs about.

Arsenal - Porto

Another Arsenal Blog 17 February @ 03:46 PM EDT
So the line up was almost as expected. Fabianski and the expected back four. Denilson in the midfield, with Cesc and Diaby. Then up top Rosicky and Nasri on the flanks of Bendtner. My first thoughts are that we do not have enough pace in the attacking positions and that Denilson needs to do more than he has done in many games of late. Click to continue reading...

Porto preview – injuries disrupt the preparation as the Mail talk garbage again

A seven day break was supposed to ensure that our walking wounded had the chance to recover for tonight's Champions League resumption. Unfortunately, the opposite has occurred, and the squad have flown to Portugal without Almunia, Gallas, Song, Eduardo and Arshavin.

Most have ready made replacements who will be determined to prove a point.

Porto V Arsenal: An Efficient Performance Will Do Just Fine

Today's games went as expected. Lyon troubled Madrid while Milan didn't have enough to keep Rooney out. Now I am hoping tomorrow's game won't throw up any surprises either.

We have some big names missing. Gallas, Song, Arshavin are not easy to replace. Is it a sign of over confidence or is it our strength-in-depth that makes me expect a good result at the Estadio do Dragao?

Is Song, Cesc, Diaby Our Best Midfield?

Desi Gunner 13 February @ 10:52 PM EDT

The Arsenal website doesn't have much to offer today except this piece Diaby has improved tremendously. I must say I completely agree with that article. At the start of the season I didn't think of the lanky Frenchman as anything more than a squad player (My bad! But can you blame me?) Over the last few months an increasingly fit Diaby has impressed on many levels.

Our captain has come out with an interesting comment,

As a team, we need to be stronger. We can't hide behind people saying we are too young or we have injuries. We just have to compete. People say you must learn from your mistakes, but you learn how to play football when you are 12, 13, 14, 15.

Chelsea V Arsenal: Forgone Conclusion Or A Pleasant Surprise

Desi Gunner 06 February @ 11:42 AM EDT

Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge a week after our title challenge has supposedly been transformed into a disaster. Many supporters have already decided that this game will result in another humiliating defeat taking us out of the title fight and dumping us in one for third and fourth place.

Given our recent record against the big teams and Drogba's record against us it's probably a logical conclusion.

Good morning all and a happy Friday to you. This week seems to have really dragged, no midweek football after a weekend defeat isn't necessarily a good thing.

All the focus now will be on Chelsea though. Arsene's press briefings will take place today, no doubt the United game will be rehashed but I'm not sure there's much left to say about that, regardless of the questions he'll be asked today.

Premier League Photos: Arsenal 1-3 Man Utd – Hard Work Is The Key

Who Ate All the Pies 01 February @ 08:58 AM EDT

Arsenal 1-3 Man Utd. Or, Fergie 1-0 Wenger. United got their tactics spot-on, Arsenal didn't.

This must have made very depressing viewing for all Gunners, especially as it was spookily similar to last year's Champions League semi final at the Emirates, when United crushed their hosts on the counter-attack.

United preview – this one is big

The Beautiful Groan 31 January @ 08:20 AM EDT

And so to the second of our run of four tough games, and arguably the biggest of the lot. Some may argue that the trip to Stamford Bridge is the most critical game we have, but for me, our history with United, and the boost we could get by defeating them, makes this one huge.

That isn't to say a win is essential.
