With their side 2-1 down on the night and 4-2 down on aggregate to Paraguayan team Cerro Porteno inthe second leg of their last-16 Copa Sudamericana fixture, disgruntled fans of Argentinian sideColon began bombarding the pitch and the police around its perimeter with various missiles to vent their frustration at their club now being within 15 minutes of being dumped out of the tournament.
As you're probably aware, Brazilian football (CBF and CONMEBOL for that matter) have no respect
for the international break. So two matches took place in Brazil on Wednesday night one for Copa
Sudamericana and one for the Brasileiro. And it was enough for the biggest collective nervous
breakdown, I've ever seen.
What seemed to be a terrible year for Fluminense may end up as a good one, after all (obviously,
staying in the first division is fundamental to that). In the first-leg of the semis, Flu played as
it is supposed to: as a big and traditional club. It played the first-half better than Cerro
Porteno, but did not score.
Copa del Rey on GolTV: Athletico Bilbao - Vallecano at 3pm. Copa Sudamericana on Fox Sports en
Espanol: Cerro Porteno - Fluminense at 8:30pm. Friendly on Azteca: Santos Laguna - Santos at

Copa Sudamericana reached the semifinals, two Brazilian clubs had the chance to be in the final
4. However, only Fluminense did so. Flu visited Universidad de Chile and one more time relied on
Fred. The ex-Lyon seems to be playing for all the matches he did nothing since the beginning of the
year.
The two Brazilian clubs still in the Copa Sudamericana did not start well the quarter-finals of
Copa Sudamericana. Botafogo and Fluminense will have a lot of work if they plan to advance to the
semis. Botafogo visited Cerro Porteno in Paraguay and lost 2-1. Reinaldo scored for Bota, but if
the club from Rio wants to advance, it must win at Maracana.
The irony? Those two clubs are in the relegation zone of Campeonato Brasileiro. This shows how
much Brazilian clubs care about this competition and how low its level is. Botafogo and Fluminense
are the ones trying not only to save the season, but also to save Brazil's reputation in the
tournament.
It was an unusual night in the Copa Libertadores. To move into the competition's quarterfinals,
Santos defeated Bolivar 8-0, which was one goal away from its biggest win ever in the Copa
Libertadores (9-1 win over Paraguay's Cerro Porteno in 1962, when Pele was playing).
Don't really understand how that little cockatoo-haired shite Neymar has the nerve to claim the
goal (I'm fairly sure that he indicates to the referee that the ball glanced of his Rufio-like
fringe) and celebrate like he's just buried one from 35-yards that was all about Barreto's
masterful handiwork.
Penarol won the first semi-final leg against Velez Sarsfield 1 0 bringing back memories of the
invincible Centenario! The success of the Celeste in the last World Cup has been contagious for
Uruguayan clubs as well! The last time the Aurinegros won the Libertadores was in 1987.
Out of the four semifinalists in this year's Copa Libertadores, only Paraguay's Cerro
Porteno will be vying for its first title with Brazil's Santos, Argentina's Velez Sarsfield and
Uruguay's Penarol all having lifted the trophy on at least one occasion.
The Copa Libertadores group phase winds down over the next week as the final matchday
approaches. With six sides through and 20 teams still battling for the 10 available spots into the
knockout round, this has become one of the more exciting conclusions to the group stage in recent
memory.
It's only been four weeks of group-stage competition of the Copa Libertadores, but the
tournament has already provided some epic matches and surprising results, as Colombia's Atletico
Junior remains perfect after three matches in its group, while Mexico's Jaguares and Venezuela's
Caracas are the shock leaders in their respective tables.

Paraguay's Superclásico took place this weekend with Olimpia and Cerro Porteño having to be
content with sharing the spoils following a 1-1 draw in the capital city of Asuncion on Sunday.
Record champions Olimpia may have amassed 38 league titles to date in their glory-laden history
but the last of those championships came eleven years ago which is far too long for a club of its
stature.
In attesa di conoscere quelle che saranno le scelte definitive di Marcello
Lippi, per ora veniamo a conoscenza di quelle di Gerardo Martino,
selezionatore del Paraguay, una delle sfidanti degli azzurri, insieme a
Nuova Zelanda e Slovacchia.

This Copa Sudaamericana cup tie between Argentine side Colon and Uruguayan side Cerro Porteno ends in chaos 15 minutes from the end with Cerro leading 4-2 on aggregate when disgruntled Colon fans start to thrash the stadium.
Two Colon players were also sent off for allegedly kicking both fans and riot Police during the 20 minute stand-off, while attempting to get to their Families who were seated where the rioting started.
Defender's header back to keeper is too hot to handle If goalkeeper Diego Barreto, of Paraguyan
side Cerro Porteno, was taking bribes you would hope he would do a better job of concealing his
actions that this. That worryingly leads us to conclude that this howler must be down to human
error. Somehow Barreto finds [.
