Philadelphia Union fans have been dealt heavy blows of late. Their veteran goalkeeper was sent away
and within days, the face of their franchise was traded away and not to the glamour of the English
Premier League. Rather, Sebastien Le Toux is finding his way up north, to Vancouver.
Officially, Le Toux was let go for allocation money.
The Philadelphia Union confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Sebastien Le Toux has been traded to
Vancouver.
In return, the club receives an undisclosed amount of allocation money.
Union head coach Peter Nowak said in the announcement, "While this decision wasn't easy, we are
confident that the allocation money we receive will provide the flexibility for us to compile the
best possible roster for 2012 and beyond.
Virginia Online Soccer News reached out to Dan Borislow, owner of the
magicJack team that has been battling with the WPS since he purchased the former Washington Freedom
club. Borislow is currently taking a lot of blame via social media outlets concerning his perceived
role in today's announcement by the WPS that it will suspend the 2012 season.
So Arsene Wenger will make a signing in the January transfer window after all although it is
hardly likely to get moaning fans off his back anytime soon.
For we hear that Borussia Dortmund academy midfielder Thomas Eisfeld is set to join Arsenal
pending a successful medical examination.
Former Bandung FC, from the short lived LPI, striker Lee Hendrie has been declared bankrupt in
England, owing the tax man a lot of money.
Two options for the lad. One is he could return to south east Asia. Singapore for example have
appointed a French bankrupt to be their CEO. Or he could ask Harry Redknapp for financial advice.
Not entirely sure about the source material, but Chelsea have allegedly re-engaged in talks with
Racing Genk over the transfer of the 20-year-old that looks not a day over 12 Kevin De Bruyne.
Young Money
As you may recall, the club inquired about De Bruyne in the summer.

Many folks will be forgiven if they thought the new season of the S.League is going to kick-off a
year or so, instead of the official date given the league authority - 9th February 2012.
It's not a laughing matter and consider the fact the unveiling of the CEO of the League was only
done weeks ago and on the same occasion the media were only made know in larger content what are to
be expected in the much touted "S.
When the Chicago Fire announced Quaker Oats as their new jersey sponsor earlier this week (I
swear that one is growing on me by the day), the news left four clubs without a sponsor.
The Colorado Rapids, the Columbus Crew, FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City all have holes in
their jerseys well metaphorically speaking.

Veljko Paunovic released an open letter to Philadelphia Union fans through
Twitter. The Brotherly Game asked the now retired player if the letter could be republished
here, upon the site. With Paunovic's blessing, here's the full text of his letter:
I want to thank the great Union family for welcoming me from the very first day that I came
here.
Imagine a bad breakup with someone you shouldn't have hooked up with in the first place, someone
who seemed perfect for you but who belittled you to your friends, was a slob, didn't pay their half
of the rent and utilities and criticized your sexual performance. Now imagine having to have that
person spend one weekend a month at your house for the next two years.

The Philadelphia Union announced today that 34-year-old Serbian striker Veljko Paunovic has

Minnesota Stars FC. That's the new name of the former NSC Minnesota Stars. Both CEO Djorn Buchholz

the NSC name on the logo was confusing. "It's not something we looked at and said, this has got to

suggested he would.

reserve team coach and academy director, on being named head coach of the Colorado Rapids.

Eclipse Select Soccer Club alumna and former Notre Dame midfielder Jen Buczkowski is coming off a
successful third season within Women's Professional Soccer.
The 26-year-old Elk Grove, Ill., native was named to the 2011 WPS Best XI as voted by select media,
and her Philadelphia Independence advanced to the WPS title match, eventually falling to the
champion Western New York Flash.
The WPS received a reprieve from U.S. Soccer on Monday evening. In a special meeting held by the
U.S. Soccer's Professional League Task Force, which consists of Secretary General and CEO Dan Flynn
and board members Mike Edwards and Carlos Cordeiro, they committee came to an agreement with the
five remaining WPS teams.
The feet-dragging on various issues pertaining the S.League is not doing any good if the league

Women's soccer in America has encountered another setback. The top-tier female league in the
United States, Women's Professional Soccer, is facing a loss of sanctioning by the U.S. Soccer
Federation as a Division I league. Entering its fourth season, WPS "terminated" its Florida
franchise, magicJack, bringing the number of teams down from six to five in early November.
Lest I leave the impression that the only people writing about WPS are those who are no longer
with the league, Jenna Pel did an excellent interview a couple weeks ago with the new WPS CEO
Jennifer O'Sullivan and Philadelphia Independence owner David Halstead. Some passages, though, are
already past their sell-by date:
Halstead: I'll say it from an owner's standpoint and a non-lawyer's
standpoint, we believe that we're excited to move forward with six teams and Dan [Borislow, former
owner of the new defunct Boca Raton Magicjack] has that passion and common purpose that I talked
about a couple of minutes ago.
US National Team and FC Dallas forward Brek Shea will spend a month following the November National
Team friendlies training with English Premier League club Arsenal, Dallas announced on Thursday.
"We want to give Brek every opportunity to grow and develop his skills as a player," FC Dallas
President and CEO Doug Quinn said.
Stars CEO Djorn Buchholz was at the unveiling of the brand new NASL championship trophy on Friday
night at Brits Pub in downtown Minneapolis. While others gathered around the sparkling new trophy
to have photos taken he refused, saying he'd wait until he could do that in Fort Lauderdale after
the Stars had won it.
Well, talk about unexpected. The Philadelphia Union and CBS Radio property SportsRadio WIP have
announced a major deal that will see 17 select home and away Union matches broadcast on local radio
starting next year, in addition to a weekly hour-long show dedicated to soccer, also starting next
year that will run through the end of the MLS season in November.
So an article appeared in yesterday's TTB that I think warrants a bit more discussion with
regards to the Timbers academies. Essentially what is happening is when the Timbers officially
launch their academies this year they'll mandate that any player who signs up will not be allowed
to play for their local high school anymore.
Today the MISL has released an updated 2011-2012 schedule, making the rumors official regarding the
short lived Chicago Kick franchise.
Chicago are out due to an inability of the "new" team to secure a suitable venue in time for the
season. Although the league is still leaving open the possibility of the Kick to try to join the
fold again next year stating they are set to join for 2012-13, subject to fulfillment of
league requirements.
Both USSF CEO/Secretary General Dan Flynn and NASL Commissioner David Downs feel positive about
progress toward NASL sanctioning for 2012. The sanctioning of the North American Soccer League
(NASL) for the 2011 season was an eventful process. For those on the outside looking in, it may
have looked a bit more like a soap opera.
Their Words This past week after the break did a lot for me. I was able to really clear my mind,
get fit, and this whole week I've worked really hard. I finally felt one hundred percent mentally
and one hundred percent physically, and I hadn't felt like that in a long time. DC forward Charlie
Davies.
Dan Flynn has been CEO/Secretary General of U.S. Soccer for 11 years. While the following of U.S.
Soccer, it's programs and sanctioned leagues continues to grow yearly, many still don't know much
about the St. Louis, Missouri native. But that's how Flynn prefers things as he quietly goes about
his job of running the day-to-day [.

Quite the plot. Someone in the middle of the night sometime last year managed to hack into City
CEO Garry Cook's email, to send a highly offensive reply to Nedum Onuoha's mother, who has cancer,
ridiculing her illness. The reaction was predictably one of outrage.
The reply was addressed to Brian Marwood, City's director of football operations but the hacker
clicked on reply all and the damage was done.
