Montevideo, Uruguay was the site of raucous celebrations as the Charruas drew the Ticos at the
Centenario but thanks to their away win at Estadio Saprissa on November 14th clinched passage to
the 2010 World Cup on goal aggregate.
Sebastian Abreu lost his markers after Diego Scotti centered his cross, to head the ball home
past Keylor Navas to put the Uruguayans ahead but the Ticos equalized minutes later with Fernando
Muslera diving to the left to get a hand on Alvaro Saborio's shot but unable in the end to keep it
out of the back of the net.

The World Cup winners in 1930 and 1950 became the last team to qualify for South Africa 2010
thanks to a draw with Costa Rica at the Centenario in Montevideo. Substitute
Sebastian Abreu - who plays for Aris Salonika in Greece -Â put
the hosts ahead 70 minutes but Costa Rica equalised when Deportivo Saprissa's Walter
Centeno scored four minutes later.

The impossible shock didn't happen in the end as Argentina won 1-0 in Montevideo to bag the last
South American place in South Africa and send Uruguay into a two-legged play-off with Costa
Rica.
Chile's 1-0 win over Ecuador meant neither of tonight's teams in the Centenario would go home
empty-handed.

Mythical Estadio Centenario | FIFA's world classic stadium
Originally uploaded by jikatuSe esperaba que la última fecha de las Eliminatorias sudamericanas se
disputara a la misma hora, con el fin de evitar cualquier tipo de polémica.
Finalmente tal situación quedó desechada, luego que la FIFA anunciara oficialmente los horarios
de la jornada clave, en la que se determinó que existirán tres horarios distintos para cinco
partidos.

La primera vez que oÃa este concepto asociado al mundo del fútbol fue en Valencia y en referencia
al Levante. Un concepto que no entendà y que no supieron explicar los medios. Con la venta
fantasma del club que acaba de empezar su celebración del Centenario una parte de la afición
empezaba a clamar en favor de la idea de un grupo de levantinistas que abogaban por una compra del
mismo Levante de acciones.

The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) confirmed today that the Cafeteros will be hosting their
neighbors to the south in September at the Atanasio Girardot in MedellÃn and not in the Colombian
capital of Bogota. The notion was being tossed around as soon as the final whistle was blown in the
