We've focused on the demolition of Ninian Park, formerly Cardiff City's stadium, a couple of
times before. Here are the latest photos of a sad end for a historic stadium, taken by Flickr Pitch

"Henrik Larsson always scores." The clip shows Celtic fighting back through Larsson against
Porto in a pulsating 2003 UEFA Cup final.
My memories of Larsson will always be defined by the Swedish striker entering the game in the
2006 CL final against Arsenal late in the second half.

The above picture depicts what Reuters describes as a "sit-down protest" from Hamburg
after stewards at Celtic Park would not let them celebrate their 1-0 win over the Scottish side
with their traveling fans after the game. Tempers flared among the visiting team when stewards also
wouldn't let them leave the pitch, causing some angry players to sit down near the corner flag as
police moved in.

Ninian Park, built in 1910, was the home of Cardiff City FC until earlier this year. The last
ever game at Ninian Park was on April 25th, 2009, with Cardiff losing 3-0 to Ipswich Town.
Cardiff now play at Cardiff City Stadium, a 27,000 all-seater venue, and Ninian Park is now
being torn to pieces to be replaced by a housing development, as this week's stadium spotlight
shows.

Scottish football may have fallen behind some of the other European leagues in recent years but
no one can deny that the Old Firm is one of the hottest contested derbies in world football. Both
Rangers and Celtic have a massive fan base who create an intense atmosphere and Sunday's Old Firm
at Ibrox should be a tight and hard fought contest.

Celtic officially presented new signing Zheng Zhi at Celtic Park earlier today. The China captain
has signed a one-year contract with a one-year option with the Glasgow club. The 29-year-old Zhi
left previous club Charlton Athletic in June following his expiration and the Addicks 'relegation
to League One.

Can we say we are safely through having secured a half-time lead? Well I think so, although it's
a shame that we had to take the lead with a penalty coming from a dive from Eduardo.
Considering how easy the game is, I don't think we needed to invent a penalty so I'm
disappointed with the Croatian, who kept his cool to score and make up for a big miss early in the
half.

In yesterday's pre-match press conference, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed he will not
rest any players just because the Gunners will face Manchester United on Saturday.
The North London club will face Celtic in today's Champions League qualifying game after
securing a comfortable 2-0 lead in the 1st leg at Celtic Park, knowing that three days later, they
will have to pay a visit to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Arsenal will host Celtic in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Play-Off round with a
2-0 lead. The first leg at Celtic Park was an interesting match where Arsenal caught a few breaks
and scored two crucial away goals. Live coverage will take place about 15 minutes before the start
of the match.

In the end, a comfortable win on Saturday against beleaguered Portsmouth. You've got to feel for
their supporters, some of the loudest and most passionate around. They're now suffering the effects
of ownership that spent money on player transfers and wages like the proverbial drunken sailor.

I'm so excited by the early start. So far we have played 3 and won 3. That is pretty good by
itself. And then I tell you we've scored 12 goals. An average of 4 per game. How good does that
sound! And our defence has been largely solid as well.
Of those 12 goals, only 1 has been scored by a striker.

Arsenal's form at the moment scintillating! Their training kits however... what were they
thinking?! Don't let that deter you though, this should be some match! Celtic Park can be a tricky
place to conquer and the Hoops will put up a heap of resistance. I don't see the Gunner's pulling .

The first week of the 09-10 Premier League season has thrown up a few surprises (and pleasant
ones at that).
The newcomers to the league have been in typically plucky form, Arsenal and Tottenham have
managed excellent starts that, for the moment at least, give hope that their much-hyped potential
will be realised this year.

Arsenal continued their strong start to the 2009/10 season with an accomplished performance

India.

park last night and the papers this morning reflect on the 2-0 first leg victory for the
gunners.

So Arsenal became the first team to win at Celtic Park in Europe since The Eunuch Fusiliers in
1878. A 2-0 win leaves us in a very good position for the second leg.
Much was made of the famous atmosphere but when the TV cameras panned across the teams as they
lined up on the pitch it was clear it was the home team who looked nervous.

Arsenal have one foot into the Champions League after beating a physical Celtic side at Celtic
Park.
William Gallas broke the deadlock with a deflected header and a Caldwell own goal put the
visitors two nil up in the first leg. Celtic have it all to do at the Emirates and the odds are all
against them.

Arsenal went into Celtic Park and did what they needed to do, getting a 2-0 result, practically
ending the tie, Celtic will not beat us by two goals at the Emirates. It was a game where we were
blessed with some good luck, both goals were fortunate for us, but all our players worked their ass
off the entire match, and were rewarded for it.

Celtic 0 Arsenal 2 (Gallas 43, Caldwell og 71)
(Champions League Qualifier Leg 1)
An extremely dangerous qualifying round was all but negotiated hours ago with a highly
professional display of passing and pressing, sheer hard work eventually breaking an impressive
Celtic resistance, if not their spirit.

It's late, I'm tired so I apologise if I will be a bit short on my analysis today, I will of
course expand tomorrow in my day-after thoughts. Well a win is a win, and when it's a 0-2 one away
from home in the Champions League, it's a crucially important one.
Our forward line was disappointing, very disappointing and we should consider ourselves lucky to
leave Celtic Park with two goals in the bag, not really for the fashion in which we scored but
because indeed, Van Persie and Arshavin failed to produce magic tonight.

I was one of the non believers who wrote off Celtic's chances of even reaching this stage. They
proved me wrong in Moscow. They won't prove me wrong in London. A 2-0 win at Celtic Park has sent
Arsenal into the group stages of the Champion's League.I thought there was a chance Celtic might do
better in the first leg.

Arsenal beat Celtic 2-0 at Celtic Park, all but assuring their qualification for the Champions
League group stages, with two away goals. It was not the presiding effort of their 6-1 away win
at Everton, but the two deflected goals – from Gallas and Gary Caldwell's foot – fulfilled the
requirement in what was arguably the most important match of the season.

Arsenal did not show any nerves or fear at Celtic Park this evening despite the early
harrassment of the fans and the fervoured desire of the player in hoops. in terms of urgency and
aggression, Celtic were the better team for five minutes. the noise was intense, the fans booed as
soon as the Gunners regained glimpses of possession.

don't know if you remember but last season I had a number of 'Crunch-time' blogs. I haven't went

So tonight we play Celtic in the first leg of our Champions League qualifier at Celtic Park, in
essence a 40 million quid game. No pressure then.
The team news is that Fabregas, Sagna and Denilson are doubts and will have to undergo fitness
tests before the game. I can't see all three of them starting if they are not 100% so maybe Diaby
will step in for Denilson which is a shame considering his performance against Everton.
