Following Celtic's 4-0 win against St. Johntstone, they were awarded the trophy for making easy work of the Scottish Premier League. At one point, Celtic manager Neil Lennon took the trophy over to the stands, pulled his winner's medal off his neck and handed it to a young girl in the stands.
It was a move reminiscent of when Jose Mourinho chucked his Chelsea 2006 winner's medal into the stands at Stamford Bridge, but more of a tender moment than a display of swaggering brashness.

Celtic have been at the top of the Scottish Premier League standings all season and they haven't looked back. For the second straight season, the club have clinched first place and will once again compete in the Champions League next season.

Victor Wanyama is one of the players linked with a summer transfer to Arsenal to fill the troublesome position of defensive midfielder, and his manager at Celtic, Neil Lennon, admitted that they are not too confident of being able to keep the 21-year old at Parkhead for another season. The manager was speaking after Celtic went out of the Champions League following defeat by Juventus last night.
Juventus completed their dismantling of Celtic's Champions League's hopes by winning the second leg of their round of 16 tie 2-0 and advancing to the quarterfinals on a 5-0 aggregate score. It was a painful experience for Celtic fans -- a few of which had a cry after the first leg -- but it didn't prevent the two sets of supporters from showing each other a bit of respect and camaraderie.

After losing three of the last four games, it is no wonder that Arsenal fans are unhappy and looking for somebody to blame. The defence has been the main target, mainly due to the soft nature of the goals that have been conceded, but the Gunners have been struggling at the other end as well. Olivier Giroud is coming under fire again, with some JustArsenal readers even commenting that they would prefer to have Bendtner back.

Celtic's dream of Champions League glory was quickly dimmed as Juventus arrived at Celtic Park and dismantled Neil Lennon's side 3-0. The three vital away goals definitely put the Glasgow side at a heightened disadvantage, yet there should still be a spirited performance out of the Scottish club in the return leg of this fixture.

If I were to tell you that today at Celtic Park, the home team had in the first-half alone 76 percent of possession of the ball, made Juventus Gianluigi Buffon save six times against just one for the Celtic keeper, Fraser Forster, and had twice as many on target shots, you would almost say the Hoops were having an incredible night at the packed stadium in Glasgow.

Several months ago, I published an article on the Bleacher Report regarding Celtic'sCinderella story and how it would likely and unfortunately come to an end in the Champions League Round of 32.
At the top level there is a fine line between winning and losing. The best teams don't make silly defensive mistakes that gift goals to the opposition, while they clinically taken advantage of any mistakes the opposition make.
And that is what happened in Glasgow tonight as Juventus punished Celtic for every mistake they made and ran out winners 3-0.
After beating mighty Barcelona at Celtic Park in the group stage of the Champions League and advancing to the knockout rounds, Celtic fans were feeling good about their role as giant-killing underdogs. So when Juventus showed up and soundly beat Celtic 3-0 in the first leg of their round of 16 tie, it was a pretty crushing reality check.

A European clash against an Italian side will always remind Celtic FC's fans of their glorious past, when the Bhoys won the 1966-67's edition of the Champions League – then called European Champions Clubs' Cup – by beating Internazionale 2-1.
There's no place like Valencia, really, and even the moody Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a warm smile on his face as he arrived in the Mediterranean city yesterday! Paris Saint-Germain take on Los Che in the Champions League last-16 tonight and no matter what they say, it is going to be quite exciting because these two clubs have never played one another competitively before.

Since mid-December, the football world has been anxiously awaiting the onset of the Champions League Round of 16, especially Neil Lennon and his Celtic side. The Scottish champions likely enter their clash as the underdogs, and will look to prove a point to Italian giants Juventus.
Juventus are back in European action this week as they travel to Scotland to face SPL side Celtic in the Champions League last 16. The Italians are top of Serie A and will be betting favourites to prevail through to the quarter-finals, however after the Scots beat Barcelona on home soil earlier in the campaign the Bianconeri should be wary ahead of the first leg.
If there is an element of truth to all the transfer rumours you hear involving Arsenal, then Arsene Wenger's list of targets must be as thick as the Yellow Pages. Well it looks like Le Prof can cross one of those names off his list today, as the talented and powerful defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama has revealed his intention of staying at Celtic.
This years Champions League has represented a series of disappointments for England's most elite sides. Whilst the miraculous feat achieved by Chelsea last season has failed to be emulated, the Next Generation Series (NextGen) sheds a glimmer of hope that England's most reputable sides can soon be reinstalled as European heavyweights.
We do not know if Arsenal tried to sign Etienne Capoue from Toulouse in January, but he could have been the player Arsene Wenger was referring to when he said that a club had rejected a late transfer window offer for one of the Arsenal targets. Toulouse had sold Sissoko to Newcastle, and would have been left very light in midfield if they had also sold Capoue.

Despite Alex Song's plea to return to his former club Arsenal and bolster their somewhat porous defense, it looks as if Arsene Wenger has turned to Celtic and Victor Wanyama according to The Daily Star.
The 21 year old Kenyan has impressed this season in the Scottish Premier League and Neil Lennon has conceded that he'll have to part ways with his stars if bigger clubs make an approach.
There was a time earlier in the season, shortly after Arsenal were knocked out of the Capital One cup by Bradford I think, when Arsene Wenger was getting flak from all sides. He had not publicly condemned the players, like Gervinho, that had played so poorly and been criticised for it. Martin Keown explained that Wenger was fiercely loyal to his players, right up to the point when he felt really let down, and then they would find it impossible to get back in his good books.
There was an interesting and simple pattern on the four Champions League games this midweek - I would say that the structure below is one which UEFA should not allow. The four biggest leagues are England, Italy, Germany and Spain. Celtic/Juventus - Spanish Ref mugs Celtic Valencia/PSG - Italian Ref rescues Valencia with Ibrahimovic sending off Madrid/United - German Ref Donetsk/Dortmund - English Ref doesn't book one Dortmund player despite 15 fouls Whether or not there were shenanigans this week, this matrix is primed for corruption and should not exist.
