After a rather dull start, the transfer window has turned into quite the circus for your average
Liverpool fan. And today could be somewhat interesting, to put it mildly.
In "News that has unfortunately been overshadowed by the Torres situation" news, new record
signing Luis Suarez has passed his medical, and having already agreed to personal terms it's the
last obstacle before officially signing on as the newest member of Liverpool Football Club.
Or: An open thread, 'cause the last one's getting too damn full...
Torres may have asked Liverpool to consider Chelsea's offer?
Eh, seems unlikely, and they might still land Suarez, which
would make Torres super-happy and stuff.
In local news, I'm a complete moron, so with that settled right off the top let's take a quick
peek around the intertubes to see what others have been saying from a Liverpool point of
view...
* Well, at least it looks like Tomkins generally agrees with me on the whole "How about
we take five minutes off from desperately looking for somebody to blame" side of things, as he
talks about obvious signs of improvement being good enough and about the best that could be hoped
for for the time being.
Hey, that cat looks how I feel! Also, cocaine:
Helping people cope with horrible situations since 1837.
Well, Roy Hodgson hasn't been sacked yet, and Nate says that Jim Boardman says that BBC News is
saying on the television box that he won't be leaving today. Meanwhile, I'm not sure I can add all
that much to what I said earlier, and to be honest, despite my talk of not getting my hopes up for
fear of being horribly disappointed, I got my hopes up.
Just before the new year ticked over, Fenway Sports Group attempted, by way of a
well-constructed leak, to get a message out: We're going to sack Roy Hodgson soon. Maybe. Well,
at least by the end of the season. Probably. Superficially it certainly seemed something that
Liverpool fans everywhere wanted to hear, namely that the owners knew Roy Hodgson wasn't the man to
take the club forward long term.
