CARSON,Calif. -- A night after the United States slipped against Canada, Mexico made sure that there would be no letdown from them.

Alan Pulido scored a hat trick as Mexico defeated Honduras, 3-0 at the Home Depot Center.

Mexico became the first team to reach the semifinals after handing Honduras a 3-0 defeat tonight at The Home Depot Center. Alan Pulido posted a hat trick for El Tri, who top Group B with six points. Honduras is second with three points, while Panama and Trinidad & Tobago have one each after a 93rd minute goal by the Soca Warriors canceled out a goal by Panama substitute Cecilio Waterman in the 69th minute.

Stoke City defensive midfielder Wilson Palacios has had to withdraw from Honduras' roster due to a knee injury, according to reports from Honduras, and he won't take on the U.

The October international fixture dates appear to be filling up on the U.S. men's national team's calendar.

After reports emanated from Ecuador that stated the United States will play the South American team in Connecticut on Oct. 11, news has surfaced that the United States will host Honduras on Oct.
