Pirlo, the LL Cool J of Serie A...Reader's choice: "Don't Call It Comeback" or "Doing it and
doing it and doing it...well."
If there is any weekend to pick-up your Serie A match watching, this is the one.
None of the top five won at the weekend which meant Roma's impressive home win over Inter was all
the more sweeter as they are moved to joint sixth with Napoli and just five points behind Inter
with a game in hand. AC Milan were unable to overcome a plucky Napoli side in a match where Zlatan
Ibrahimovic disgraced himself by earning a red card for fighting.
Inter and Palermo shared eight goals in a 4-4 thriller where Diego Milito netted all four for Inter
at the San Siro. Roma's defence needs to be looked at as they were humiliated away at Cagliari.
Lazio overcame AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico and the weather managed to play its part as four
games were called off due to the big freeze.
The Tevez-Pato "will he? won't he" questions ricocheted every which way this January as the
musical chairs transfers song played at AC Milan, but at the end everyone retook their own chairs.
Boring. Perhaps they were dating Berlusconi's daughter, or were on £200,000 a week slave wages
that no one else could match, but whatever the reason, that anti-climax will be followed up by a
busy February and early March.
Atalanta Guglielmo Stendardo joined Atalanta on loan from Lazio until the end of the season. The
30-year-old defender has spent most of past two seasons on the bench at the Rome club, and will be
delighted to get the chance to feature for the first team in Bergamo. (+ve) Another experienced
arrival is midfielder Alessandro Carrozza from Serie B outfit Varese.
In appreciation of the cat who made it onto the pitch at Anfield this evening I felt that it was
about time I drew up another "Best XI". This time it's for players with "cat" in their name.

Between the sticks is Antalyaspor's 35 year old custodian Omer Catkic.
25 minuti.

Not the best of weeks for Claudio Ranieri at Inter as his team suffered yet another loss, this time
to lowly Novara. The defeat capped of a miserable run of results for the Nerazzurri which has seen
them claim just one point in their last four fixtures. Incredibly, after defeating Inter early in
the season, the Biancoazzurri have claimed a most unlikely double over the 2010 Champions League.
A weekend of football that was curtailed by the weather with two games being called off, also a
embarrassing weekend on the pitch for Inter as they were humiliated at home by Novara 1-0. What is
next for both Inter and Claudio Rainer after a sticky run in the past two weeks? Here are the five
best goals from the weekend 5.

The Serie A is shaping up to be a 2 horse race between Juventus and defending champions AC Milan
especially after the Bianconeri's 3-1 home win over Catania last night that pushed them back into
top spot in the table standings with 49 points, 2 above Milan who could go back on top with a Win
at Cesena today.
Second-choice goalkeeper Marco Storari was very excited about Fabio Quagliarella's 81st-minute
goal to put Juventus up 3-1 against Catania. He was so excited that he decided to dive-bomb his
teammate's celebration, landing on their heads and smashing the goalscorer in the noggin.
Quagliarella did not appreciate this, so he shoved Storari away before tending to the bump on
his head and wishing that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was around to slap Storari in the face again.

The UEFA Champions League knockout stage continues, with the finalists from the 2010 tournament
looking to secure road results in the first legs of their Round of 16 ties.
The 2010 champions, Inter Milan, are stuck in a dreadful run of form, not having won in their
last six matches (0-5-1 in that time).
Atletico Madrid's tactician, Diego Simeone, didn't left the pitch in rage after his team's
defeat against Barcelona, especially with a rather controversial yet brilliant Lionel Messi's free
kick which simply decided the end result.
Speaking to the press after the game, Simeone is content with the defeat and even hailed Messi
as the genius that simply decided the end result on the Sunday fixture with his brilliance, more
than anything.
In the big game on Saturday night there was a bit of a controversial moment in the game when Sulley
Muntari headed home from close range only for Gigi Buffon to claw it away. Replays showed the ball
crossed the line by at least a yard. The referee pointed back to the centre circle but the linesman
on that side didn't give it.
