A resurgent Sunderland side lie in wait for Arsenal on Saturday afternoon, though a 7-1 drubbing
of Blackburn could prove to be the catalyst for revitalising our own campaign. The draw at Bolton
recently means that we really must be getting the three points from Sunderland if we are serious
about catching [.
Likely starters
There's a trip to Bolton looming in midweek, where we'll continue our climb up the league table
in search of that Champions League spot. But first there's the matter of the FA Cup to deal with. A
small matter or a big matter? Depends on the individuals. Arsene Wenger loves a bit of this
competition but not over qualification to Europe's premier competition.
The long substitution
It's finally confirmed, the news that we did not want to hear. That Jack Wilshere has had a
setback and would not be available in the date that we initially had hoped he would be back for. AC
Milan's games were touted as his return period but that will now have to be extended.
Arsene Wenger is the most ignorant manager in the Premier League which has been the sole catalyst
for the severe lack of success on the pitch. The performance against Manchester United demonstrates
some valid points about the inefficient management style of Wenger. He is a very stubborn man and
sticks to some philosophies that will [.
As things turned out, Heidar Helguson's late equalizer in Milton Keynes on Saturday afternoon
wasn't quite enough to keep Neil Warnock in his job. Rangers without a win of any description in
the FA Cup for a decade may well remain in the competition for now, but Warnock won't be at Loftus
Road for the replay.

"People just don't know how good Lucas is," prophesised Rafael Benitez, three years ago to the
month. It was December 2008, and Liverpool had found themselves in a somewhat unfamiliar position
by recent standards. Top of the table, ahead of the pack and with just one defeat for the first
half of the season away to Spurs, the only problem was a smattering of frustrating draws.

After being named the Week 3 MISL Player of the Week earlier this season, Baltimore Blast
goalkeeper Sagu has been named the MISL Goalkeeper of the Month for November. Sagu was the clear
cut favorite for the award after posting a 4-1 record in addition to a 9.
Admission: Tuesday came and went and passed me by entirely. For me, it's a rarety for me not to
follow a game in some way. I go to most home games, and watch or listen to most of the others.
Those matches I can't go to, see or hear I will follow via Twitter etc, as many of us do. But on
Tuesday, as the match kicked off, I was out meeting football-agnostic friends (they do exist, it
seems) in a pub with pleasant steak and kidney pies but no telly, and although I briefly toyed with
the time-honoured gadget switch-off so I could play the match as live when I got in, I knew my
resolve wouldn't last and sure enough, it didn't.
Ahead of Wednesday night's League Cup game against Crystal Palace, Sir Alex Ferguson has
confirmed that we will be playing a young side like usual.
Palace are currently 10th in the Championship and managed to beat Southampton, who are top of
the table, in the competition last month.
Ferguson is putting his faith in youth though and singles out Paul Pogba as a player who might
start.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. Flanked by the men who hired him, newly-appointed head coach Jay Heaps spoke
confidently about the immediate changes that need to take place in order to return the Revolution
back to respectability.
"Fundamentally, a few things have to change right off the bat," said Heaps as President Brian
Bilello and General Manager Michael Burns looked on.
David Beckham has always been known as a fierce competitor and for his ability to return from
the injury that cost him a chance at the World Cup, he was awarded with the 2011 MLS Comeback
Player of the year.
The 36-year-old midfielder has enjoyed an MVP-caliber season, battling back from a potentially
career-ending Achilles injury that cost Beckham a spot on England's 2010 World Cup spot and caused
him to miss six months of the 2010 MLS season.
According to today's Daily Mirror, Liverpool is still interested in Coventry City's talented
midfielder Connor Thomas.
When Thomas was sent to Liverpool on loan last January, it was the catalyst that causes a board
room struggle to come to a head and ended up with a change of chairman and vice chairman.

The boy's time has come, let's give him a little help
If you listen to any football pundits or experts out there (ones in the British game anyway),
they will tell you that the catalyst to a championship (Premier League, if you like) winning side
is one with the meanest of defence as the backbone.
Owner's Update Stadium Situation
Tom Werner says he and John W Henry are still considering the options available on the club's
future stadium plans. The American tycoons are still discussing the eagerly awaited decision on
whether they redevelop Anfield or build a entirely new stadium.
Maura Gladys returns with Part I of II on the USWNT moving forward
Out with the old, in with the new? Yeah, um, not so much....
It's tough to derive meaning from last week's U.S. Women's Soccer Celebration Series in an
on-field context. With nothing at stake, and with the purpose of the two game series against Canada
clearly stated as a celebration, the squad was under no obligation other than to entertain
fans.
Brendan Rodgers is good people. Pretty good scout, too, so sayeth the man himself.
Yes, yes sign that man.
Our former youth and reserve team manager has done rather well for himself since leaving the
club in 2008. He brings his newly promoted Swansea City side anchored by former Blue favorite Scott
Sinclair to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Morning,
Welcome to the blog on this glorious Friday. In the office there is this bloke who feels the need
to use this auspicious day to play that terrible song.
It was one of few pieces of music that was universal panned and it honestly could remove paint from
walls, if needed.
Arsenal arrived In Dortmund yesterday knowing that tonight's game against the Champions of Germany
will not be easy, but they also know that a win could be just the catalyst they need to get their
season up and running. Arsene Wenger gave a press conference at the stadium last night and here is
what he [.
David Villa's suicidal back-pass was the catalyst for Barcelona losing a 2-0
lead after being in a comfortable position with goals from Xavi and Fabregas, Villa's back-pass let
in Agiretxe who's shot rebounded off the bar before Antoine Griezmann headed home to give Real
Sociedad an unlikely draw.
Tonight the New England Revolution will get set to take on the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park in
Chester, Pennsylvania. The Revs are coming off a 17-day break following the postponement of this
fixture due to Hurricane Irene two weekends past, while the Union are coming off back-to-back
league losses to Salt Lake and Columbus.
Well over the past month Newcastle United have had reason to complain with Mike Ashley and the
board, firstly renaming the stadium, secondly failing to bring a number 9 in, but his latest stunt
must be the last straw.
Ashley has shown time and time again he is not a football chairman but rather a businessman,
though I am not saying this matters as these days it doesn't seem like it matters as the two have
become mutually exclusive.
Wow. After three months of wondering if Arsenal will ever jump into the transfer market, the
Gunners officially landed FIVE new players today.
What is surprising is the 180 degree change in Arsenal's transfer philosophy that today's moves
reflect. The Gunners new signings; Santos, Per Mertesacker, Park, Benayoun and Arteta.

I have to say, I have empathy with the looters. When you see no other option for survival, I
totally understand the mindset of trying to obtain what you need to live. Of course, I'm talking
about those who tried to loot food and water in Somalia not the idiots in London right now who are
stealing televisions, clothing and anything else they can get their hands on.
Over the last few weeks, I have received some e-mails and comments asking for more detail on
certain topics, more coverage of certain issues and requests for interviews with front office and
sponsor representatives. Let me say that I really appreciate the feedback and I will try and add
those items (and more) over the coming weeks.
On the tail end of their busiest stretch of the season, the New England Revolution will need to
find the energy to do something they haven't done in over nine years if they are to build on
Wednesday's win over D.C. United, their first victory since mid-May.
A.J. Soares and the Revolution defense will have a tough task Saturday against Colorado's speedy
offensive line.
On this week's Gadsby's England, some positive news: young Englishman Dale Jennings is signed by
Bayern Munich. Could this be the catalyst for other young English players? And the British
government finally talks the talk: a select committee says withdrawal from FIFA should NOT be off
the table.
