Samuel Eto'o has continued to hint that his long-term future lies way from the Russian league,
implying that he might end up at Chelsea in the coming years.
Eto'o was rising to prominence at Mallorca when then-Blues boss Claudio Ranieri attempted to
bring the striker to Stamford Bridge.
However, the Cameroon international opted to join Barcelona in 2004 and went on to enjoy five
great years in Catalunya before moving on to another two successful seasons at Inter.
Gonzalo Higuain scored an impressive hat-trick in Barcelona as Real Madrid claimed an emphatic
4-0 victory over Espanyol in Sunday night's late kick-off.
Earlier on, Espanyol's cross-town rivals Barca had cruised to the top of the La Liga table as

A newspaper, a café con leche or an espresso, a café, and a cigarette. Maybe a croissant as
well. It's the stereotypical Spanish breakfast. Substitute a few tapas for the croissant and you
more or less have lunch covered as well. But on the 1st of January, 2011, a newly enforced law in
Spain interrupted the daily routine of millions.
Liverpool to Make Late Move for Afellay
Liverpool are considering a bid for Barcelona's Ibrahim Afellay, according to several sources
such as the Metro and CaughtOffside.com . The Dutch international only moved to Camp Nou in
January for a small fee as his contract at PSV was due to expire in June, but unfortunately for him
he has failed to make the impact that he and Barcelona had hoped.

Liga teams from those regions are looking ahead to the new season. In this part we will go through
the two big cities of the country and also some of the other regions of the lovely country of
España.

Arsenal fans, why are we so devastated by the protracted departure of Cesc Fabregas? Its not
like we haven't had three years to mentally and emotionally prepare ourselves for this, right? Yet,
the idea of Arsenal will at the Emirates and abroad without Cesc Fabregas in the squad, let alone
leading it, will seem very foreign, perhaps as foreign as it was not seeing Thierry Henry in the
starting line up.
Lo and behold, you may have noticed this fine blog's hibernation during the summer. Why do
we do that? Well, few games are played. Most European leagues take off May, June, July, and
August. Thus, the news cycle slows to a crawl except for a unique species of sports writing: the
transfer rumor.

The terraces are packed, and the chants are reaching a crescendo as the sides reach the pitch.
The passion and fervor is eminent in the air, so thick you could cut through it. The banners
unfurled and flares sparked.
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is closing in on his long awaited £32 million move to
Barcelona with a deal set to be put in place by the end of the week.
The Spaniard has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer with Pep Guardiola
having pinpointed the Catalan-born star as his number 1 priority ahead of the new season.
L'Equipe Petit - A great story about a little team in Catalunya with
golden values
In Catalan, there's a saying "amb un Parell de pebrots" or "with a couple of
peppers", which means to be brave and to face situations without fear. These little Catalan
children play without any awareness of fear.

Barcelona's triumphant players paraded the club's fourth European Cup through the warm streets
of a festive Catalan capital before partying with almost 100,000 fans at the Nou Camp stadium.
Boarding an open-top bus, Barcelona wound their way through the thronged streets with the
European Cup and La Liga trophies displayed at the front of the vehicle.
Checking in from Barcelona: Part One!
I went to the Barça-Malaga match on Sunday con mi novia, it was absolutely incredible. If I
didn't say so before, this was my first time seeing Barça at the Camp Nou. Words can't really do
justice to the 90,000+ Catalan faithful among us or Iniesta's golaso or David Villa's soulpatch, so
here's a short video I made.
