The USL PRO is holding its combine this Thursday through Sunday at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. And among the players who will be evaluated, there are eight U.S. Soccer Development Academy alumni trying to impress those on hand to make a potential move to the professional ranks.

The eight Under-17/18 teams at 2011 Development Academy Finals Week have wrapped up their first official match day, with Pateadores, Dallas Texans, FC Dallas and CASL Chelsea FC Academy earning three points from the first game.

Valley Field at Marquette University is ready to host its first game of 2011 Finals Week between Weston FC and CASL Chelsea FC Academy. So ready, in fact, that the inviting and plush green grass requires a little extra help to safeguard from the ominous threat of seagulls.
Apparently, the seagulls that are drawn to Lake Michigan are also drawn to large areas of open space like, for example, soccer fields.

Eight teams qualified for the 2011 Finals Week in Milwaukee after winning their respective group over three days of play at the U-15/16 Playoffs.
Group 1
Seattle Sounders was in charge of the group and with a dominating 4-1 win over D.C. United, they advanced with the full nine points.

The U-15/16 age group wrap up their Development Academy Playoff games today, sending the top team from each of the eight groups to Milwaukee, Wis., for Finals Week. Below are the possible advancement scenarios for the eight groups:
Group 1
Seattle Sounders FC advances with win OR draw
- With Seattle Sounders loss, the winner of Empire United and Soccer Academy moves to tie breaker scenarios to determine who advances
Group 2
Dallas Texas advances with win
- If Dallas Texans lose, Concorde Fire will advance with win OR draw
- If Dallas Texans lose, Albertson SC advances with win
- If Dallas Texans draws and Albertson SC wins, the group would move to tiebreaker scenarios
- If Dallas Texans draws and Concorde Fire wins, Concorde Fire advances

Pateadores advanced win a 3-1 win over Empire United and a strong nine points

The group was up for grabs in the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake AZ game, with the Red Bulls winning 3-0

Even with today's loss, Players Development Academy advanced with their group-high six points

In a close race, Dallas Texans took the group with a 4-1 win over Charlotte Soccer Academy and a plus 7 goal differential
Group 5
FC Dallas defeated Real Colorado 3-1 to win the group
Group 6
The group was up for grabs in the Seattle Sounders FC and Baltimore Bays Chelsea game, and Baltimore advanced with the 2-0 win
Group 7
Weston FC advanced with a 3-1 win over Derby County Wolves and a greater goal differential than Chivas USA
Group 8
The group was determined by the Albertson SC and CASL Chelsea FC Academy game, with CASL Chelsea winning 2-0

Michael Harrington has had some impressive moments in his young career. The standout defender for Sporting Kansas City is young and dynamic, but has shown himself to be very qualified since he began his Major League Soccer career back in 2007.
Harrington's story though dates back, like so many professionals, to a hard working family supporting his youth travels and endeavors.

CASL Chelsea FC Academy took a week-long trip to Madrid last week... unsuprisingly, it was a trip that the players will remember for the rest of their lives.
The players - both the U-15/16 and U-17/18 teams - got to train at the famed Ciudad de Futbol, training grounds for the Spanish national team programs.

Triangle Offense blog broke the story late last night and the NASL confirmed it this morning. The team NASL team in Carolina will continue on with the namesake Carolina RailHawks.

The NASL released a press statement this morning explaining that as previously announced, Traffic Sports USA have acquired the name to the RailHawks.
