How Many Physios Could a Roman Buy if a Roman Could Buy Physios?

0
Buy a few more physios Roman, it looks like Chelsea are headed for yet another injury crisis. Deco (thigh) & Carvalho (knee) have been missing for a month, Joe Cole (gashed head (old) and ankle problem (new)) and Didier Drogba (knee) are short of fitness, and word coming out of the England camp suggests that John Terry (back) and Ashley Cole (hamstring) have been ruled out of The Three Lions' World Cup qualifier versus Belarus. Sir Alex and His Hairdryer

0
OLD RED NOSE STRIKES AGAIN AND THE TWO ABOVE ARE MUCH PRETTIER Seriously does having SIR before your name give you carte blanche to berate everybody that makes a decision that first was wrong and then the wrong was made right. Case in example - John Terry's sending-off against Man City on Saturday night. Click to continue reading...

Terry Red Card Rescinded

0

Chelsea's loveable thug and England's Brave John Terry has been let off his Red Card received against Manchester City on Saturday. He is now free to face Manchester United on Sunday.

This is probably fair enough to be honest, although it was a cynical professional foul there was plenty of cover from the outstanding Carvalho and Boswinga as the foul was made.

manchester city MAN vs chelsea MACHINE

4
Chelsea defeated Manchester City 3-1 as the brilliance of human innovation and skill did not prevail over a well oiled footballing machine that further established its dominance in the Premier League with ruthless efficiency. It's clear that Manchester City still have a lot more players to buy(already questions must be asked of Manager Mark Hughes in having Stephen Ireland starting ahead of Elano)and more time to develop team chemistry. Chelsea to sign Kaka in 2009

3
According to the latest news in the London Times, Chelsea are planning to make a world record signing of Kaka from A.C. Milan. To me thats Kaka. With the amount of money they are going to spend on 1 player who may still be in his prime, but also is nearing the end of it, they could be rebuilding the entire squad for the multiple campaigns that they have to mount in England and Europe. Chelsea defender slams club’s treatment of Grant

2
Ricardo Carvalho was looking nailed-on to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer, especially after Chelsea were kind enough to appoint his manager at international level. However, his future appears to be less clear after coming out with a statement that might make Roman Abramovich choke on his 'Golden Grahams' at the breakfast table. Click to continue reading...

Chelsea’s best defender quickly reasserts desire to ‘go forward’ with Scolari

2
Yesterday, we reported that Ricardo Carvalho was being philosophical about his Chelsea future, with rumours linking him to Jose Mourinho and Internazionale. Not any more. The swift appointment of Luiz Felipe Scolari at Stamford Bridge has seen 'Ricky' become one of the most loyal players on the books all of a sudde, his future was [. Click to continue reading...

Big Phil Going To London

1

Big Phil was handed the sideline seat as the new Chelsea coach today, with an announcement on the club's website filled with pomp and circumstance - as you can see to the left. (There's no link behind that either.)

Big Phil will be stepping down as the coach of Portugal, a position he's held for 5 years, at the end of the tournament to take over a freaking dream job for a coach with a transfer kitty which could rival the GDP of a small nation, and a defensive line featuring some of his current hands (Carvalho, Ferreira and recent signee, Boswinga).

England: Nice Timing, Chelsea

3
You have to laugh at the circumstances surrounding Chelsea's announcement today of Luiz Felipe Scolari as their new manager. Hey, it's not like Big Phil's Portugal side were playing in a major tournament or anything. The statement the Premier League and Champions League runners-up released today was highly comical. Euro 08: June 11

1
They say defense wins championships. So does that mean that they're going to have to cancel the rest of Euro 2008? Well, just look at the teams who've impressed thus far in Switzerland/Austria.

Most will agree that, through the first round of games, Germany, Holland, and Spain looked like the three best squads. Click to continue reading...

Will Chelsea’s best defender be snapped up by Inter?

3
While John Terry gets most of the defensive plaudits from UK-based newspapers, who like to describe the whinging toddler as a warrior, hero and lots of other ridiculous things, one of the main reason why Chelsea are so stout at the back is down to Ricardo Carvalho, his partner in crime. The Portuguese defender might [. Click to continue reading...

Euro 2008 is off to a rousing start. Rousing? Well, at least Greece lost. The first round of games have been completed, so let's take a look at how Chelsea players have faired thus far in Austria and Switzerland.

No way Jose

The Special One correction: The Ordinary One was officially revealed as Inter Milan's brand spanking new manager today. He looked daiper as always, blurting out all kinds of smooth talk in a G'd up suit and tie.

However, there's this one part where he big ups himself like The Special One we know when asked if he would be seeking to sign some of his former players from Chelsea.

Another day, another candidate for Chelsea's vacant coachcing position. Mourinho will return to Chelsea…

2
...To nab all their players! The Times reports that the slick Portugeezer will be named manager of Inter Milan shortly, and after he rattles off some choice egg-related epigrams to the bemused Italian press, he will no doubt begin the task of bringing in some new faces to boost Inter's already obese squad. Who were the Chelsea penalty bottlers against Manchester United?

6
A penalty shoot-out is the sort of thing that separates the men from the boys. As a player, do you put your name forward as someone who can beat the keeper from twelve yards, or do you instead hide behind Frank Lampard and hope nobody notices you? It appears that there were a few shirkers [...] Click to continue reading...

Chelsea pip Manchester United to Bosingwa - and boost the Porto coffers again!

The official club website reports that the next Chelsea spending spree has started already. 2008 Euro Qualifying Saturday Previews: Group A

3
Group A
Portugal can do themselves a huge favor by winning at Azerbaijan. The Portuguese appear to be playing with fire after throwing away opportunities to assure themselves an early qualification with three consecutive draws in their last three group dates, two of those being home ties. They are plagued with injury with Jorge Andrade, Marco Caneira, Petit, Hélder Postiga, João Tomás and Pepe out as well as Tiago, who is suspended, but should have plenty, including the return of Ricardo Carvalho, to get the three points. The Daily Madness: Mourinho watch, Everybody loves Jose, Kasey Keller smokes crack, & more

18
- Vowing that he'll make a swift return, Jose Mourinho might soon end up in Portugal as Luiz Scolari's replacement. The 58-year-old Brazilian has received a four match ban from UEFA for his spat with Serbia and Sevilla defender Ivica Dragutinovic and will miss the rest of his side's qualifying matches. The Portugal manager is planning on appealing the decision, but nevertheless an emergency meeting will be held by the Portuguese Soccer Federation to discuss the future of the former World Cup winning boss.
