Last time we see all 3 on the pitch at the same time?
Haven't written in a while, therefore this will be more of a short summation on things that have
happened in the past week. No place better to start than with the players.
Emmanuel Frimpong will be out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
The little Mexican wizard Carlos Vela is very happy to be on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain, and it
was revealed this week that he is set to ask Arsene Wenger to allow him to stay away from the
Emirates and continue playing for the La Liga minnows. Now today he has explained his [...]

A goal from Sergio Ramos was enough to gave Real Madrid a slender 1-0 win against city rivals
Getafe to maintain their seven-point lead over title rivals Barcelona at the top of the Spanish
Liga.
The visitors dominated possession but created few clear-cut opportunities and the match was
eventually settled by Ramos's 18th-minute goal, the Spanish international defender meeting Mesut
Özil's corner with a flying header that powered into the top right coner.
Arsenal's on loan striker Carlos Vela must see an openining in the Gunner's midfield, as an
enforcer, whatch how he takes out the linesman with the minimum of fuss during Real Sociedad's 5-1
win at the week-end, and applause must also go to the official for doing a Messi and not a
Ronaldo.

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, currently on loan at Real Sociedad, isn't renowned for his tackling.
But having found himself on the receiving end of a trip from a Sporting Gijon player, the Mexican
experienced immediate catharsis by being propelled into his own lunge on the linesman. The match
official clearly bore no grudge with Vela, [.
In the second half of Real Sociedad's 5-1 win over Sportin Gijon on Sunday, Carlos Vela was
tackled from behind by Alejandro Galvez right at the touchline, sending him barreling into the
linesman. Everyone was alright and the linesman even helped Vela back to his feet (despite the fact
that Vela took out his).
Mexico's Carlos Vela scored a contender for the goal of the season not just in La Liga but the
whole of Europe. Vela, a former Arsenal player, has failed to impress or hold a place not just with
the Gunners but a couple of other European clubs.
His scoring record is rather unimpressive for an attacker but this stunning overhead goal could
change everything for Vela.
The draw for 2012 CONCACAF Olympic qualifying is set for Tuesday, and one of the players who
could be starring for Mexico during qualifying is Carlos Vela, the perpetually on-loan Arsenal
forward who is currently at Real Sociedad. His late equalizer Sunday against Malaga was a thing of
beauty. Enjoy:
You know what time it is. Cheekiest goal of the week goes to Super Mario. He's a horses backside,
but sometimes he does fun things. Like this. Remember Carlos Vela? Chicharito Lite? He's still
playing, if you were curious. Becks may or may not be done in LA.

Even before the quarterfinal draw for the Carling Cup paired Arsenal with Manchester City
(a.k.a., the Death Squad), many speculated that the reserve teamers logging time on the big stage
would soon cede their places to first team players in a push for the silverware.
As well, it should - and he has been dropped by Mexico, I'm guessing for his ghastly form of
late, not anything related to the disciplinary action. Also, NYRB defender Teemu Taino, who
appeared to grab Galaxy midfielder Juninho around the neck during the melee that followed Marquez
throwing a ball at the Galaxy's Landon Donovan after last weekend's game, was given a fine:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Major League Soccer has extended the suspension of New York Red Bulls
defender Rafael Marquez to three games.
Should be slightly happier after scoring 4 goals for Holland
International break, the kind of break we as club supporters always detest. In this instance
though, it is a welcomed one. Especially after the crazy last week that we had. Starting with the
bashing we took at the reigning champions to the frenzy last few days of the transfer window.
After yesterday's debacle, it is time to take a step back and see where we are, how did we get
he and what the future holds. There is no point in analysing yesterday's match, it is certified XXX
in the minds of all Arsenal fans.
We all knew it was not going to be an easy match but the roots of the result go back, probably
two or three seasons ago.

Today the Daily Star are running a story detailing a bit of a bust-up between new captain Robin
van Persie and Arsene Wenger regarding the current standard of the squad and the lack of purchases
this summer.
Robin, who recently took on the agent of Clichy, Nasri and Cesc in Darren Dein, is no stranger
to getting under the nose of the boss.
It's now or never for Wenger. The squad is the weakest since Arsene's reign started that there
is no doubt. Suspensions and injuries are mounting and we have only played three games. Our
squad for today included two players who are outward bound and contained 8 youngsters.
Whilst we could see the potential in both Frimpong and Miguel today, trophies are not won with
potential, but as Wenger told us in May with experience.
After a disappointing end to last season, numerous Arsenal fans were calling for several players
to be booted out of the club. I remember logging onto Twitter one day and seeing a great number of
Arsenal fans I follow, tweeting the five players they wanted Wenger to sell this summer.
Whilst this may have been a bit of a rash reaction to a poor end to the season, it was
understandable, emotions were running high, and many fans were finding it difficult to come to
terms that Arsenal had ended their sixth consecutive season without a trophy.
- Song and Vermaelen working tirelessly
It used to be a song sung frequently at Highbury and during most Arsenal games. Arsene Wenger's
introduction to Arsenal Football Club ensures that the song would never be sung again. Even if it
did, it was done in jest. The song typify the type of football that we used to play.
As most Arsenal fans have had to accept over the last decade, the African Cup of Nations takes
place every 2 years, at the midway point of the Premier League season. And the tournament is set to
kick off again early next year, when the 2012 finals start in January.
The qualifying stages are well underway, but are slowly drawing to a close, with the finals just
over 5 months away now.
Funny thing about this transfer window is that teams have seemingly stocked up on redundant players
rather than addressing clearer needs. Also, we've seen a further concentration of players at the
top as the biggest clubs fill out their 25-man rosters with full internationals while clubs below
them are looking to academy and youth players to play a larger first-team role.
Carlos Vela's agent confirmed that the Mexico International is very close to a loan move with Spain
as the most likely destination. Speaking to ESPN, Eduardo Hernández explained that three Spanish
clubs are interested in the ...
The Red Bulls Hoist Silverware: A Rare SightIt wasn't the prettiest cup victory you'll ever
see, but somehow the New York Red Bulls managed a 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday at the
Emirates Cup in London. Combined with Saturday's 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain, it was enough to
earn RBNY the trophy and allow them to return home with something tangible to show for a grueling
48 hours in London.
With the new football season just weeks away, a busy summer of transfer activity in and around
the Premier League shows no signs of slowing down.
Manchester United were the early movers in the transfer market with the purchases of Ashley
Young, Phil Jones and David De Gea but it would appear that any hopes that they had of signing
Wesley Sneijder from Inter are fading with increasing rumours that Manchester City might be in for
the Dutch International.
Very late with this I know but my couch has missed me these past week and I can't go on ignoring
it any more. After 2 days of following them everywhere, my body failed me on this final day. Only
time I got out of the house was to go to the stadium to attend the long awaited friendly match.
I know the staple matchday food and beverage for those going to Ashburton Grove involves plenty
of alcohol but here in Malaysia, that is not our culture.
The last four days have been exhausting and we really shouldn't be complaining because it's part
of the job! But in between falling down next to a road(and injuring our knee) and walking on the
pitch in heels (don't ask), we're having some of the best fun covering Arsenal, Liverpool and
Chelsea's pre-season tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!

So, football yesterday and pre-season kicked off with a fairly routine win over a Malaysia
XI.
Two goals in each half gave us a 4-0 win. An early Aaron Ramsey penalty after Jack Wilshere had
been taken down in the box opened the scoring. The second came from a lovely Ramsey pass over the
top of the Malaysia defence, Theo Walcott timed his run and lobbed the onrushing keeper.
Arsenal played a team of Malaysia's best today on their pre-season tour in SE Asia, and
predictably won in convincing fashion, 4-0.
The match was streamed for free on arsenal.com, so look at the schedule for coming games. Our
next match is this Saturday in China.
I didn't catch the first half, so instead of a match report and player rating I'm going to go
over our four goals and some other chances we had.

The last time Mexico won the U17 World Cup was in 2005. A mere 6 years ago. Yesterday, they did
it on their home turf, Estadio Azteca, in front of 105,000 supporting El Tri. Yes, that means
Mexico have won two out of the last four U17 World Cups.

It remains to be seen whether the current Mexico Under-17 side will supply the senior team with
as much talent as the 2005 edition, which captured the U-17 World Cup in Peru behind the likes of
Giovani dos Santos and Carlos Vela. Either way, the hosts are into the semifinals of the 2011
tournament following an impressive 2-1 victory over France on Monday, and striker Carlos Fierro
certainly looks to have a bright future.
What is there? I don't mean in general, for if one were to ponder that question, you might drive
yourself mad.
Where did we come from? What are we doing here? How do we, as an infintisimal speck in the wider
universe have any great consequence to anything? I simply don't have the answers to those
questions.
Going into the Gold Cup two years ago, Mexico was a team on the brink of disaster. Now, of course,
they are not.
Amazingly, the player most closely associated with Mexico's revival wasn't even on the 2009 Gold
Cup roster - yes, Mexico tuned us up 5-0 without Javier Hernandez. Something to think about when we
say we started a B-team.
