Talk of a looming crisis at Old Trafford is rife across the media today, following yesterday's
3-0 drubbing at the hands of Fulham. It's not often Manchester United concede three goals in a game
and it's even less often that they concede three goals without reply. So should we go along with
the media's perception of the situation at Old Trafford?
After their large spending spree in the last few transfer windows, many have expected Manchester
City to challenge for a top four finish in the English Premier League. Currently, the club is in
the top half of the Premiership table but the questions remains if where will they finish? It's
hard to say at this point but here's a look at the season so far and a prediction of if they will
earn a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
A striker who knows how to steal the headlines? Manchester City's players got ready for Christmas
by donning Santa hats to sing Jingle Bells for a festive video. Ironically, the only player who
didn't bother to don St Nick's headwear was his namesake, Roque Santa Cruz.
The original Thunder Thighs is returning to Brazil to spend Christmas in Aracas
... and also to finalize his deal with Corinthians, it seems. Yes, he no longer
enjoys shisha, dear futbolitas, and has ended his contract with
Fenerbache. He was originally supposed to be unveiled as Ronaldo
Lima's new teammate at Corinthians (cara, is this World Cup 2002 over again or what?
Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Vladimir Weiss were all on target as Manchester City beat
Arsenal 3-0 in the quarter-finals of the English League Cup at Eastlands here on Wednesday. After a
tense opening period, Tevez put City in front four minutes after the break before Wright-Phillips
added a second midway through the second half.
Carlos Tevez has insisted that even if he scores against Manchester United in the League Cup
semi-final, he will not celebrate due to the feelings he still harbours for our fans.
He used to grab our badge as he warmed up on the touchline, waiting to come off the bench, but
hasn't seemed to find that connection at yet.
Carlos Tevez goal Not sure which is the bigger news: That Man City has beaten league leaders
Chelsea, or that City did not get a draw. (Or maybe it's that money does talk? Or that Carlos Tevez
has an odd-yet-effective side-footed free kick technique, shown above? Or that Emmanuel Adebayor is
effective [.
There was once this Bobby Zamora, scorer of 70 goals in 119 appearances for Brighton & Hove
Albion, a legend to this Seagulls fan some years ago:
Blessed with power, pace, some aerial ability and a calm finish, Zamora led the Albion up two
divisions with successive championships at the start of the decade through his goalscoring
exploits.
Is it December already? Then it must be time for Argentines across Europe to wonder what possessed
them to move to a continent where Christmas is celebrated in a cold climate. The performances are
still decent, though. Gonzalo Higuaín scored again for Real Madrid as Lionel Messi ensured
Barcelona kept their noses in front; Carlos [.
Not quite vintage Spurs, but a hugely creditable performance nonetheless. The 3-0 scoreline
makes it easy to forget quite how hard our lot had to work after a testing opening, first in
soaking up the early pressure, and then in moving from back-foot to front.
Kick-off had heralded what looked like an ominous 10-minute trailer for the Carlos Tevez Show,
but to our credit, while City were allowed a little too much time in midfield they were resolutely
kept at arm's length – an arm in this instance being approximately 18 yards long – with the
only notable first half save from Gomes coming from a long-range effort.
Incredible, but not surprising!

Manchester City have sacked Mark Hughes after 18 months in charge and named Roberto Mancini as
his successor, with Brian Kidd appointed his assistant.
He has a record of 1 goal in every 3 games and has captained his country in a career spanning
over a decade and eight different clubs, but this season Manchester City finally brought the very
best out of Craig Bellamy. Bellamy has a record of 7 goals in 15 for the Northerners and is in the
form of his life.
Two former players who worked under Roberto Mancini have spoken about their former boss, in
particular praising his approach but also giving a glimpse of what to expect from the new
manager.
Firstly Diego Simeone:
‘I would warn the Manchester City players that Mancini is very rigorous and serious
in his work.
There was one late/evening match in the English Premier League on Monday, December 28, 2009 as
Wolverhampton Wanderers hosted Manchester City. It was Roberto Mancini's second match as Man City
manager and a chance to win their second match in three days. Wolves have been up and down this
season with relegation always a possibility.
The reason for AA going up a little later this week was, of course, widely forecast, but I still
wanted to wait for it to be made official. Don't count your chickens and all that. On Tuesday (or
late on Monday if you're in Argentina), Lionel Messi was named France Football's European
Footballer Of The [.
A full strength Man City side eased past Arsenal to reach the Carling Cup Semi-Finals thanks to

Manchester City finally found a way to win a match, and not draw for once, when it defeated a
very young Arsenal squad in today's Carling Cup quarterfinals. The 3-0 victory was sparked by a
wonderful goal from Argentine striker Carlos Tevez, who danced around the Gunners defense to open
the scoring.

The jinx is ended. A semi-final awaits - and against United no less.
Our own lack of confidence ahead of the game was certainly shared by Arsenal fans, but we needn't
have worried. Given some of our implosions at this stage of cup competitions in recent times a
comfortable victory feels somewhat strange, but satisfying nonetheless.
An unhappy end to Arsenal's Carling Cup run. Their defense was shambolic.Tomas Rosicky lost two
balls that led to two goals, the first by Carlos Tevez who ran around Song and Eboue before
unleashing a shot to put City ahead and the second by Shaun Wright Phillips whose pace was too
torrid for Armand Traore and Mikel Silvestre.
Shakegate has unfortunatley overshadowed what was a very entertaining cup game, lit up by two
brilliant goals for City – Carlos Tevez scored a superb solo goal to open the scoring, before
Shaun Wright-Phillips unleashed a rocket to double the hosts' lead.
Arsenal didn't play poorly, but for all their neat pass-and-move stuff, they lacked a cutting
edge.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has said that he is unhappy and disappointed by the boos he
got at Old Trafford earlier on in the year. Tevez was booed everytime he touched the ball in

After thrashing West Ham 4-0 away from home, with two central midfielders making up half of our
defence, alongside our second/third choice goalkeeper, we were put within two points of league
leaders Chelsea.
After the ball bounced of Emmanuel Adebayor's back and in to the goal to put Chelsea ahead, I
assumed it was going to be another one of those days where Chelsea were concerned.
It was quite a contentious match on an unordinary day at Eastlands Saturday as Manchester City
held on for a morale-boosting 2-1 win against Chelsea.
What was most obvious about this game is how much it mattered to most teams. I lost count of the
number of times Chelsea and City players collided when trying to win 50/50 balls.
I haven't watched much football for a while, and after a busy week, I found a pub to drink beer and
relax in Caracas, Venezuela. The game to watch in the early afternoon (Venezuelan time) was
Manchester City-Chelsea.Chelsea are currently one, if not the, of the best teams in the world at

Carlos Tevez scored the game winning goal in Manchester City's 2-1 win over
Chelsea.
Mark Wilson, a contributor at Soccer City FC, penned a tremendous review of Manchester City
after the recent victories over Arsenal and Chelsea at his blog.
Check out the read -- Building Rome
"Carlos Tevez is looking more and more like our attacking
fulcrum. Aside from scoring the winning goal, his linkup play, especially in the last quarter of
the match when we were under the cosh, was excellent.
City beating EPL toppers Chelsea has to be the result of the weekend.
Emmanuel Adebayor was responsible for a goal for both teams in the first half (he had an own goal
if anyone was confused by that) and Carlos Tevez had a beauty of a free-kick goal for the
winner.
The big highlight came when Shay Given saved a Frank Lampard at the end to seal it.
First of all I have to point out that Mark Hughes is yet to thank me for my tactical breakdown
of how to beat Chelsea on Friday. Maybe he has my old number or something. Did my first blog
predict or cause the future? Probably both...
Suddenly the fickle writers have changed their minds again.
Ten man City grabbed a late equalizer through Carlos Tevez in this hugely enthralling Premier
League fixture.

One of two Premier League games to end in a 3-3, along with the game between Chelsea and Everton.
Like that game, this one was also 2-2 at half time. Craig Bellamy was sent off by referee Mark
Clattenburg, while Ivan Klasnic and Carlos Tevez scored two apiece for their respective sides.

A concern going into today's game was our recent record of firing blanks at The Reebok (no goals in
our four previous visits), but - in what has been a theme of the season so far - it was problems in
defence rather than attack that was to be our undoing.
Team wise Hughes went as I expected - Sylvinho in for Bridge and Bellamy picked ahead of Robinho,
but the recently impressive de Jong was replaced by Vincent Kompany.
Luis Fabiano has had one of the most impressive starts to the La Liga season of any top flight
player. But unfortunately, the key Brazilian striker will be missing the rest of December with a
sprained ankle. The injury is not considered too serious, but expect Fabiano to join Sevilla
the week after Christmas as the earliest possible window for the star's return.
We've had possibly the first transfer of the new window this week, and it involves an Argentine
moving from Russia to Spain. Elsewhere Manchester City were once again rescued by Carlos Tevez;
Real Madrid had their Argentines to thank for taking three points at home; Ezequiel Lavezzi had a
mixed day for Napoli, and there [.

An unpredictable weekend is behind us, and we need to look ahead to the mid-week games
tomorrow. Let's preview the action:
I. Manchester City @ Tottenham: This is a really exciting matchup for neutrals and
non-neutrals alike.
Six of the best quotes of the week from dangerhere.com.
The coveted Random Comparison of the Season award looks set to remain in the Kamara household
for another year after this appraisal of Carlos Tevez:
"They've got this man with a heart as big as...as big as.
As we prepare for Craven Cottage – the scene of one of most disastrous and so nearly
detrimental performances last season – I feel it appropriate to reflect on the season so far and
discuss how the side has changed from the side Fulham beat in March who consequently recovered
brilliantly to win the third title in a row.
Manchester City and Sunderland played out a very entertaining game at Eastlands. Goals from
Roque Santa Cruz and Carlos Tevez gave the home side a two nil lead but Steve Bruce's side scored
two quick goals to bring the game level before Manchester City attacker Craig Bellamy put City back
in the lead before Kenwyne Jones again leveled matters and then Roque Santa Cruz got his second and
Manchester City's fourth.
