Toronto FC has completed the signing of Canadian national team striker Ali Gerba, the club
announced on Monday. Gerba joins TFC after parting ways with English club MK Dons.
Toronto acquired Gerba's rights in a deal with San Jose earlier this month that also brought
veteran defender Nick Garcia to Toronto.
Tradition
Ah, the annual trip to the concrete jungle, the armpit of america, RFK North. With Red Bull Arena
under construction and supposed to open for the 2010 season, this could be the last time United
plays the metroscum/pink cows in the spectacularly horrid Giant Stadium.

The Chicago Fire is considered one of the deepest teams in Major League Soccer and will now have
that depth tested as the Easter Conference power is forced to deal with the loss of star striker
Brian McBride.
Some highlights you have to see:
- Donovan Ricketts saves and Landon Donovan crosses to salvage a
draw for Los Angeles.
- Kevin Goldthwaite, following up a witty performance in SI's Pop Culture grid,
clears the ball in spectacular fashion for the Red Bulls.
I have to admit; I am having a hard time putting this one into words. I've written about ten
different versions of a "postgame," and still, I just can't put this game into words.
Where do you start?!
Do you start at the lineup, where a red hot Mac Kandji was benched,
Borman takes a seat for Khano Smith, Jorge Rojas rode the bench
in favor of Sinisa Ubiparipovic, and Carlos Mendes was riding the
pine?

So how did the Red Bulls walk into a four goals in 26 minutes haymaker from D.C. United that
effectively ended last night's U.

New York Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio addressed a number of topics in a conference call
with beat writers ahead of tomorrow night's match against the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot
Center.
On the injury front, Osorio said Carlos Mendes (shoulder), Seth Stammler (knee) and Albert
Celades (hamstring) are progressing well and each will be in contention on Saturday.
Good morning world! It is a bright and sunny day which can only mean a very busy day at the
office. I will be at the ESPNZONE in Times Square from 1230-230 covering the second annual Red
Bulls Iron Chef Cookoff.
Last year, the team of David Roth, Sinisa Ubpiaparipovic, Danleigh Borman and Luke
Sassano (aka "The Hot Carls") took the ultimate prize in the competition, laying all
others to waste.
The Red Bulls have released their protected list ahead of this Wednesday's expansion draft. The
following will not be calling the City of Brotherly Love home:
Juan Pablo Angel
Danleigh Borman
Bouna Coundoul
Kevin Goldthwaite
Jeremy Hall
Carlos Johnson
Macoumba Kandji
Carlos Mendes
Ernst Obster
Dane Richards
Seth Stammler
I look at the list and wonder; does this have Jeff Agoos and Richie Williams
finger prints all over it?
After losing Jeff Parke to the expansion draft and seeing Diego Jimenez return to Mexican club
Tecos, the New York Red Bulls needed to start taking steps toward building their defense and that
is what they did on Wednesday when they re-signed veteran Carlos Mendes to a new deal. Terms of the
contract were not disclosed.
Carlos Mendes resigned yesterday with the Red Bulls, and it is a good thing; he
is a veteran of the team, who has become an all purpose defensive styled player, solid on the ball
and a definite boost to the Bulls depth. Yup. I'm with it.
With Mendes secured into the fold, the Bulls have added to their CB options, which also include
Kevin Goldthwaite, Andrew Boyens and Mike Petke.
Kansas City made an early PK stand up as they defeated the New York Red Bulls last night at
Community America Ballpark 1-0. The action started early, when in only the 2nd minute Herculez
Gomez received a ball into the box that Carlos Johnson of New York had trouble trying to intercept.
As the ball made it to Gomez, he cut inside to shoot but was taken down from behind by Johnson.

Revenge was not a word that the New York Red Bulls players and coaches used when speaking to
members of the media in advance of Wednesday's U.
Yesterday, I stated that only in MLS does a guaranteed contract need to be re-guaranteed during
the season to count as a true guaranteed contract. Well, with the July 1st guarantee deadline upon
us, and no additional moves announced, the Bulls roster has now been set in stone, right?
Well,
Brian Lewis at the Post is reporting a little wrinkle in the rule.
The Red Bulls announced yesterday the signing of Maccabi Haifa's centerback and former MetroStar
sixth round draft pick, Leo Krupnik. Krupnik is coming off of a championship
season with the Israeli side, and looks to apply the knowledge he has gathered overseas to the side
that never gave him a shot years ago.
