Verdict: This kid will go far.

How do you solve a problem like Gareth Bale?
So did you enjoy the Gareth Bale Show Part II? I loved it.
Another barnstorming, lung-busting,
holy-shit-how-is-he-still-sprinting-at-full-speed-after-85-minutes?! performance by Bale was the
key to Tottenham's fully deserved win against the reigning European champions last night.

Harry Redknapp is set to bring Portsmouth goalkeeper David James to Tottenham Hotspur on
a free transfer.
James was the Spurs manager's number one during his time at Pompey and it appears that Redknapp
is looking to reunite with the England international after Portsmouth were relegated from the
Premier League this season, according to The Mirror.

It was Thierry Henry's big night and New York's newest star produced under the bright lights of
Red Bull Arena.
It was a great night for the game of Soccer/Football as one of England's top clubs Tottenham
Hotspur came to play in the first match of the Barclays New York Challenge. Their opponent was the
home side New York Red Bulls and once Thierry Henry came out of the tunnel to start warming up, the
cameras on the field showed him on the jumbo trons and Red Bull Arena erupted with joy.
As Carlos Vela's exquisite chip gave Arsenal a 4-0 win against Fulham and a third place finish
on May the 9th, their supporters thoughts turned immediately to the 2010-2011 campaign. At the top
of the rather lengthy agenda was the number 1, something that has plagued the club ever since the
departure of David Seaman in 2003.
Tottenham Hotspur 4 0 BSC Young Boys (6-3 AGG.)
Peter Crouch (S) bagged a hat-trick as he lead Tottenham Hotspur past Young
Boys of Bern in the Second Leg of their Champions League Play-Off tie. The visitors didn't seem as
though they were going to let the London side waltz right through them to the Group Stage, but
they succumbed on Tottenham's very first corner some five minutes into the match.
While AC Milan and Roma were both humiliated in their Champions League matches yesterday, Inter
Milan put on a good show for any people who watched the European champions. Both sides were equal
on points at the top of the group, but with Inter's win, the nerazzurri go top of Group A. Twente
and Werder Bremen played out a 1-1 draw at Twente, leaving them both tied with two points at the
bottom, Tottenham in second with four points, and Inter Milan first with seven points.
safe hands?
Today it has come to light that we have had a bid rejected for Manchester United shotstopper Ben
Foster. Whilst this is certainly one of the more prudent moves that has been mooted this window,
completion of the move would cast into speculation the respective futures of our current
keepers.

With the 2-0 win over Arsenal at the weekend, Petr Cech kept his 100th clean sheet for Chelsea in 6
seasons since he signed for Chelsea back in July 2004.
Its been a spell in his career that has seen him win all there is to win in England, Suffer
heartache in the Champions League on more than one occasion and suffer what could of been a life
threatening injury.
There are so many things to debate as a supporter of Tottenham. Will we make the Champions
League? Are we going to be able to enjoy our third successive trip to Wembley? Why does Gomes
writhe around in agony on every occasion that he collides with a member of the opposition?
I'm sure you'd agree though, that by far the biggest talking point for any Spurs fan, is this:
Who would make it into a Tottenham WAG XI?

Tottenham are ready to bid big to bring Manchester City keeper Joe Hart to White Hart Lane.
Harry Redknapp is looking for another goalie to put pressure on in form Brazilian custodian
Heurelho Gomes and believes that Joe Hart may be attracted by a move to the north London club, even
more so if they finish in the top four and seal a coveted Champions League spot.
Crazy... But crazier than this?!
You have to be crazy to be a goalkeeper, everybody knows that. But to be a stand-in
goalkeeper...???
The psychology of the substitute goalkeeper is a strange one. At the highest level of
professional football it's even stranger. The years of hard work, passion, obsession pain and often
injury too to get close enough to top level success to taste it from an almost first hand
perspective.
While the fight for survival from relegation has ended and the title almost entirely in the
hands of Chelsea all heads turn to the Eastlands for Wednesday's exciting match between Tottenham
and Manchester City. The 4th best defense in the Premier League, Tottenham, faces the 4th best
offensive team, Manchester City as they fight till the death for 4th place and a chance to play in
Champions League football next year.

1991 On this day in 1991 we won the FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest. Paul Gascoigne had
almost single-handedly got us to the final, but was so pumped up at Wembley that he was lucky to
not be sent off, before leaving the pitch to a self-inflicted injury.
Here is a message I received from an extremely passionate Spurs fan, via Facebook;

Hey!
Ok can't wait for next season!!! We've got Sandro already signed but I don't know much about him. I
think we need a fast striker for when Defoe's out. Pav and Crouch just don't have pace.
Harry Redknapp was quick to suggest that the recent successful season would not be followed by a
busy summer in the transfer market. Tottenham's manager may be largely happy with his squad, but he
is not one to let attractive transfer options pass him by, therefore, there will surely be some new
arrivals at Spurs over the coming months as the club prepares to return to European football.
Croatian goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic is a target for both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool
according to HNK Cibalia sporting director Drazen Pernar.
The shot-stopper, who has received rave reviews from respected national team coach Slaven Bilic,
set a new club record last term when he went 550 minutes without conceding a goal.
Decent article over here at Goal.com discussing Tottenham's potential activity in the transfer
market this summer. Spurs, always a good for a transfer rumour or seven, will doubtless have a
dabble for new players at some point in the coming weeks and with a number of players already on
the roster that can politely be described as 'surplus to requirements' you can bet your bottom
dollar that the gates to White Hart Lane will be something of a revolving door.
It was a mixed weekend for Major League Soccer as the Seattle Sounders lost to Celtic 2-1, while
the San Jose Earthquakes drew 0-0 with Spurs.
The Earthquakes versus Tottenham game was played in front of a record capacity crowd of 10,712
at Buck Shaw Stadium, and the fans saw plenty of action, if not any goals, as both teams combined
for 31 shots on goal.

Heading to London with 0 goals scored and 10 conceded in their first two matches against
Blackpool and Chelsea, Roberto Martinez's Wigan squad looked to be in dire
straits. However, the Latics put on an admirable defence-oriented display to prevent the
possession-dominating Tottenham from getting on the mark.

1973 On this day in 1973, Carlo Cudicini was born. After a long spell as Chelsea's reserve
keeper, Cudicini signed for Tottenham in 2009 on a free transfer. The Italian has also been unable
to break into Tottenham's starting side on a regular basis and has thus far only made 12
appearances for the club.
Cracking start by Tottenham on their CL group stage debut. Gareth Bale just becomes more and
more awesome as each match rolls by. He was responsible for the first goal although Petri Pasanen
executed it perfectly into his own goal before Peter Crouch got to it. Then it was Crouching
Tiger's turn as Van Der Vaart became the Hidden Dragon.
