Winless in their last several league games. Outscored 6-1 in their past 216 minutes of play.
Roman Abramovich dropped by to "talk" to his squad. The list of doom and gloom goes on and on.
Andre Villas-Boas came in to Chelsea last year under a wave of controversy but high
expectations.
Carlo Ancelotti joined PSG in December after being sacked by Chelsea. The Italian won the double
in his first season but failed to inspire The Blues as they finished without a trophy the following
season.
The 52-year-old admitted he was hoping to replace Arsene Wenger in north London.

AVB has responded today to claims made earlier in the week from Carlo Ancelotti that in order for
Fernando Torres to step out of the shadows, Didier Drogba must be sold.
Let's just remind you of one thing, Villas-Boas very rarely likes to speak of individuals in
relation to performances, he always focuses on the team.
Following yesterday's dismal defeat at West Brom, Chelsea have finally pulled the trigger on
Andre Villas-Boas. For the heinous crime of leaving the London club three points adrift of the top
four, AVB has been dismissed with immediate effect, with assistant Roberto Di Matteo taking over
until the end of the season.
Wasn't this the golden age of
FC Barcelona?
Barely a week ago the
blaugrana were going for a clean sweep of trophies as their legend as
the greatest football team of all time continued to be told.
Now Barça are out of the Champions League and have handed their Spanish title to
Real
Madrid with a loss to their arch-rivals at the Camp Nou.
Speculation that David Beckham has made a huge u-turn to sign a new deal with LA Galaxy is mounting
today, following reports that he has turned down a switch to big spending Paris St. Germain in
France. For a number of weeks now, Beckham has been linked with a return to European football with
the club that has just appointed former Chelsea boss, Carlo Ancelotti as its new manager.
According to media outlet talkSPORT, cash-rich French giants Paris St. Germain are on
the verge of a sensational swoop for Chelsea star Frank Lampard.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, with
Premiership Talk last week reporting of a possible move to Major League Soccer side Los Angeles
Galaxy.
Chelsea can't win half their matches under AVB - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Castrol EDGE Performance data shows why Andre Villas-Boas is under such intense
pressure ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup tie against Birmingham and a visit to Naples in the Champions
League.
Well it's another week and another massive game coming up for our football club (Chelsea are 1.63
in Champions League betting to progress to the quarterfinals). As expected, the press are out for
AVB's neck once again after another rubbish performance at the weekend but as yet it hasn't
happened and he is still here.
It says a lot that after only two first legs in the last 16 of the Champions League, it looks
likely that for the first time since 1996, there will be no English teams in the quarter-finals of
Europe's top club competition. It says even more that no one is really that surprised.
Chelsea's task might not be as mountainous as Arsenal's, but there is a glaring lack of
confidence in Andre Villas-Boas' side.
Andre Villas Boas Out Before Easter? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
It's a familiar story: Chelsea hire a new manager for a lot of money, Chelsea don't do
as well under this manager as they did under Jose Mourinho, rumours then begin to circle claiming
that the manager is about to be fired and then finally (the bit that hasn't quite happened yet) the
manager is fired.
Woody Allen might be perfect for the movie "How to manage the blues: Look behind"
Chelsea's problems of late are not one that any manager can solve. Roman Abramovich's loaded the
club with high priced stars who were instrumental in the club achieving unprecedented levels of
success but also encumbered it with crippling debt which Abramovich is now putting on its books
because he needs to be paid.
I hope like me everyone had a goodnight relaxed, in the knowledge that we do not have to play
again until next Tuesday night.
In a game where I thought during the first half especially Liverpool, could have put at least
a couple of goals past us.
The hero of the match for me was our goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Roman Abramovich has sacked André Villas-Boas after a string of poor results that has left
Chelsea fifth in the league table. Saturday's 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion left Chelsea three
points behind Arsenal with 11 games to go.
TweetSo Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked as Chelsea boss following Saturday's 1-0 away defeat to
West Brom as In The Stands' Rolly Pelovangu asks is anybody surprised? Chelsea announced that they
have parted company with 34-year old Andre Villas-Boas on Sunday morning with the news garnering
little in terms of headlines or shocked surprise.
5 Reasons Mick McCarthy Will Be The Next Chelsea Manager - originally posted on

Following the sacking of Andres Villas-Boas, managers of the calibre of Jose Mourinho, Luciano
Spalletti and Guus Hiddink have been touted as the next Chelsea manager.
But, what Stamford Bridge needs is a real shake-up.
Chelsea's caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed the secret to winning all three
matches since Andre Villas-Boas was sacked after just seven months in charge. The former assistant
under Villas-Boas has sparked new life in an aging side that was showing its age a few weeks ago,
resulting in wins in the FA Cup, Premier League and, most recently, a 4-1 extra-time win over
Napoli in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie that allowed Chelsea to advance
on a 5-4 aggregate score.
I was reading this article in believe it or not The Daily Mail written by Martin Samuel and for
once, I have to agree with him. The article is basically about the situation that has faced every
single Chelsea manager for the most part and that's the way our transfers are handled.
What I am referring to is the situation with "club signings" and the effect it has had on the likes
of Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and possibly AVB.
The rejuvenation of Chelsea and Torres under John Terry - originally posted on

When Roberto Di Matteo John Terry took over at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea were reportedly in
disarray following the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas. Castrol stats shows that the Italian
Englishman has rejuvenated the Blues since his appointment.
Chelsea has announced that they will play mega-rich French side Paris St Germain at Yankee
Stadium on Sunday, July 22. This will the first soccer game to be held at the new Yankee
Stadium.
Chelsea's USA tour will now include four games, as they had previously announced fixtures
against Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field on July 18 and Philadelphia on July 25 where we will
meet the MLS All-Stars at PPL Park.

For the better part of my adult life, I've been around football. It's an all-consuming vacuum of
sense and reality which has rewarded me with magical displays of individual and collective
brilliance. As a team sport, football generally bestows plaudits on those select few men who seem
to strike a fine balance between other-worldly talent and self-actualized ignorance.
TweetSome would say it is ironic that, in this most turbulent of seasons in Chelsea's recent
history, Roman Abramovich's holy grail of winning the Champions League is finally realised. In
Munich last Saturday, Roberto Di Matteo achieved what esteemed figures such as Jose Mourinho, Luis
Felipe Scolari and Carlo Ancelotti could not.
In April Chelsea announced that they had reached a deal to sign Werder Bremen striker Marko
Marin. The deal was said to be around £10 million. It came at a time when the managerial job was
still undecided, Andre Villas-Boas has been removed from the job and the fate of caretaker Roberto
Di Matteo was still unclear.
New year celebrations for Chelsea fans were cancelled after the Blues suffered a humiliating 3-1
home loss to Aston Villa yesterday. Not only has this loss pushed Chelsea down to 5th position in
the league, but coach AVB has also conceded that his primary target now is to ensure Chelsea
challenge for a top 4 finish.
Let's not beat around the bush here and let's tell it like it is. We've seen two managers, drama,
controversy, speculation, excitement, frustration and find ourselves at the turn of this year in
the exact same position as we did a year ago. Isn't it strange how things have turned out!
This is my review of 2011 and a year on my blog as written by me, a lifelong Chelsea fan giving you
my take on everything that happened.
As they say in Italy... Felice Anno Nuovo! As you may know, AC Milan
are now in Dubai for their training camp to escape the harsh winters in Europe and
do fun things like run on the beach. Unfortunately, they didn't have time to eat grapes or get
properly wasted over the New Year, although Robinho looks suspiciously capable of
doing so!

While you've were toiling over turkey and trimmings, AC Milan took advantage of the Serie A
break by taking their players to sunny Doha. Their winter training camp includes a match vs. Paris
St Germain in the Dubai Football Challenge on the 4th January; a fixture sure to be a tough one as
PSG's newly appointed manager is none other than Carlo Ancelotti, who managed Milan from 2001 to
2009.
After much posturing, debate and media assumptions it seems David Beckham has made the decision not
to move to Paris-St. Germain for 2012. The club's sporting direct Leonardo has told the media that
the club's pursuit of the star is "finished".
Leonardo was the manager of AC Milan during Beckham's loan there in 2010.
After a week of unexplainable boat parties, posing awkwardly next to bird statues and unbearable
training sessions over New Year's in Dubai, AC Milan finally had enough, screamed
'BASTA!' and took home the Emirates Cup last night.
It's always nice to win something even if it was only 1-0 thanks to Pato's goal.
It may have been called the Dubai Challenge and Massimo Ambrosini may have receive a rather
extravagant trophy relative to the significance of the whole affair, but, there is no denying that
the match played between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain was played more in the spirit of a friendly.

Oh dear. On the verge of Demba Ba's departure for the African Cup of Nations, Newcastle United

Everybody's favourite Bullet Without Borders man, Maradona,
has questioned Leonardo's role at Paris Saint-Germain, where he is currently the club's sporting
director alongside coach Carlo Ancelotti. Maradona painfully complained that he
doesn't understand this set-up which clearly translates to : "Why is Leonardo spared from those
dreadful cake-cutting ceremonies Al Wasl puts me through?

After blaming everyone and everything but himself, king of the passive-aggressive
faux-down-to-earth shtick, Neil Warnock, was given the boot at Loftus Road on the back of an

One of the most intense rivalries in the world of soccer is set to write another chapter.
AC Milan and Inter Milan face off on Sunday in a game with substantially more significance now
that Inter are back in the title race. Inter are on a five-game winning streak in league play that
dates back to Dec.
Paris St. Germain's new manager Carlo Ancelotti claims that prolific Napoli Striker Edinson Cavani
is available for a move during the January transfer window. Cavani plays alongside Luis Suarez in
the Uruguay national team, and it appears that Napoli are willing to let him go despite handing him
a new 5-year contract last summer.
I read a comment made by Carlo Ancelotti yesterday about possible transfer targets and when
Fernando Torres' name came up I immediately thought bollocks!. I thought straight away that the
press would make his comments out to be something that they aren't and when I woke up this morning
I was proved right.

Paris-bound?
Filthy stinking rich and proud of it, Paris St Germain are now loaded enough to bid for any
player on the planet, courtesy of the Qatar Investment Authority. And, according to new boss Carlo
Ancelotti, the agents of some of the Premier League's most high-profile strikers have been beating
down his door, looking to secure their clients a lucrative contract in the French capital.
While Loic Remy may not be available until the end of the season, if you believe PSG's new
manager Carlo Ancelotti, there are a number of options this month in the striking department for
Spurs to consider.
Big spending PSG attract a lot of attention at the moment and when quizzed about possible
targets, Ancelotti gave reporters a list of names that are supposedly being touted around clubs by
their agents.
"I may look like Herbert Lom but I'm not mad - Torres could be at PSG. Why not?"
When you have been offered millions of euros to play in the transfer market what is not there to
like in your job? PSG driven by bottomless money (well, until the world turns completely to green
sources of energy which won't happen for the next 25 years) is now the black hole of football's
existence.
