Real Madrid is already a dominate team in La Liga but despite having already crushed through a
number of teams, except Barcelona of course, they have done this without the services of Kaka.
Although Jose Mourinho has stated that he is looking forward to seeing Kaka take the pitch with
the team he has been building, Jorge Valdano looks like he has other plans for the 28-year old.
The long walk.
I don't want to write this. For several reasons.
One, it's a loss to Arsenal. Fucking Arsenal. Nothing stings quite like a loss to that wretched
lot. Much of that stems from the fact that we just don't lose to sides helmed by Arsene Wenger it
was two losses in 18 matches prior to Monday's dissection at the Emirates.
Since I am currently on holiday with my family, I hadn't planned to do a second match review
this week. However I caught the replay of yesterday's Chelsea-Bolton match, and thought I'd at
least give the starting formation and a few thoughts.
Chelsea v. Bolton Starting Formations
- This matchup of Bolton's 4-4-2 and Chelsea's 4-3-3 leads to the typical 3-on-2 central
midfield matchup, where the two CM's (in this case, Stuart Holden and Fabrice Muamba) would be
outmanned by the three CM's in the 4-3-3 (Frank Lampard, Ramires, and Michael Essien).
The what: Premier League, Round 16 – Chelsea v. Everton
The where: Stamford bridge (41,841)
The when: 4 December, 3pm local time (10am EST)
The how: ESPN2 (DirecTV 209, Dish Network 144)
The why: Because we might just be on the cusp of collapse.
The honors were great for the Mighty One on his return to the Stade Velodrome. His play,
meanwhile like this damn team's was rubbish. Again.
Let's keep with the format from last recap. It just works, son. Devour it. Overlook it. Or do a
Chelsea, and say 'whatever.
"See your future, be your future. May, make, make it, make it. Make your future."
By Chris Wright
According to word in this morning's Currant Bun, the majority of the Chelsea squad are fearing
for Carlo Ancelotti's future at the club after watching their manager become
increasingly disillusioned with life at Stamford Bridge.
This weekend is a big one; in all three leagues (Serie A, English Premier League, and La Liga) we
have some big matches. What we also have this weekend is the FIFA World Club Cup Final between TP
Mazembe and Inter Milan, and it is the first time that an African side has reached the final of
this tournament.
Just as Carlo Ancelotti yesterday spoke of Carlos Tevez and the "reported interest" in him from
Chelsea by saying:
"There are a lot of rumours but I think that everything will be okay with him and
Manchester City because he is a fantastic player. He is very important to City and I don't think
they can afford to let him go.
(In light of speculation surrounding Chelsea and the apparent "monies" Roman Abramovich has to
spend in the January transfer window)
You are now Carlo Ancelotti. You have just had a meeting with Roman Abramovich and he has confirmed
that he understands the situation with the squad and injuries and is willing to spend "Whatever it
takes" to make sure Chelsea remain strong throughout the full squad to cope with possible injuries
and suspensions.
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken ahead of tomorrow. He said:
"Arsenal knows very well our skills and ability, and we also know their ability, their
skills. Obviously we want to try the same game we played against them and reach the same
result.
Arsenal has fantastic ability to play fantastic football, maybe they concede something defensively
and we have to use our ability to find the right space to create difficulties in their defensive
line.
As expected Carlo Ancelotti's future has been called into question once more and the rumours have
gained much more momentum since Arsenal on Monday night. Of course Guus Hiddink's name is being
touted about again as a replacement for Ancelotti but it is believed he doesn't want the day to day
management again.
Rafa Benitez gets the boot and Leonardo, the former manager of AC Milan takes over. Inter have
been a shadow of that triple title winning juggernaut under Jose Mourinho. It will be a huge but
not an insurmountable challenge to get back into contention - they're in seventh position and 13
points behind league leading Milan with two games in hand.
Has this man played his final match for Chelsea? The reserves that is.
Yes, it looks like Fabio Borini will be moving to greener pastures sooner rather than later. The
young Italian striker, who has been iced out of the first team this term despite decimating all in
the reserves, is set to miss at least two months after undergoing shoulder surgery in his mother
country Tuesday.
Jeffrey Bruma (pictured to the right of Drogba) is quoted today here stating that he is
looking to leave Chelsea on loan. At a time when we have been plagued by injuries to John Terry and
Alex, I find it very strange to be talking about a move when it's obvious that he is needed as
cover.
"You know, I asked for Vinnie Jones. And got you."
That's mine (weak, I know). Let's hear yours. Have at it, people.
"I'd like to thank the club and the LMA for ensuring a swift and harmonious conclusion. It has
obviously been a big wrench leaving such an illustrious club and one which has played such a huge
role in my playing and coaching career. I have great affection for the club, the staff, the players
and its supporters and wish them all the very best for the remainder of this season and the
future.
Yesterday was kinda slow on the Twitter. Thankfully, TheChels.org was not in a uninspired
mood.
Quite Uninspiring And
Rather Erratic Since Moving
Abroad
They asked followers to take the name of a person associated with the club player, coach,
legend, etc.
Difference makers?
Let's hope so.
Chelsea
Cech; Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Essien, Mikel, Malouda;
Kalou, Drogba, Anelka. Subs: Turnbull, Ramires, Ferreira, Sturridge, Bruma, Kakuta, McEachran.
Everton
Howard; Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Fellaini, Rodwell, Pienaar; Cahill; Saha.
Pep Guardiola has been hailed as the man who best suits Barcelona but with much interest coming
from some top clubs, including defending champions of the Premier League Chelsea, his future was
unclear.
However, it looks like Barcelona are looking to keep a strong hold on the man who brought much
silverware to Camp Nou as the Catalan club went on to offer Pep Guardiola a 5-year extension.
Carlo Ancelotti has spoken ahead of what he calls the biggest game of the season tomorrow against
Everton. He said:
"This moment is not easy, it is not finished and we have to come back to win, we have
to come back to play good football and it is very important tomorrow to win, we want to look
forward and it will be a very important period in the season and we need to change.
No sooner have I posted on here that Carlo Ancelotti will not buy anyone in the January
transfer window after he said he wouldn't, he goes and says today more or less that he is looking
at maybe making moves in January. I just wonder if he saw Roman Abramovich's good mood on all the
news channels after the World Cup announcement yesterday and decided to cash in on it and has
maybe, just maybe, convinced Roman that we need to invest in the squad.
Didier Drogba has said that he has now recovered fully from the malaria illness and is now fit and
raring to go. Drogba has not scored in the league since last scoring in the match against Arsenal.
It was obvious that he was clearly struggling the last few weeks, and whether it was due to the
illness or due to the obvious lack of form is the question that only Carlo Ancelotti can answer.
As part of Carlo Ancelotti's press conference today and with him commenting on transfers in
January ahead of the Everton game, Carlo also answered the question put to him about Jeffrey
Bruma.
Bruma had said earlier this week that he would like to go out on loan in January and it
seems if Carlo has his way and is able to spend in January, then Bruma may just get his wish.
England's Brave John Terry is back. Frank Lampard is not (shocker).
Match preview coming late night. It's been one hell of a day.
If Russia's 2018 bid was seen as high risk in terms of delivering a FIFA World Cup of technical
brilliance then the decision to stage the tournament in Qatar is staggering.
This isn't a jibe at the country but how on earth can they host a World Cup that is going to
capture the imagination of a generation who are looking to football to be their inspiration?
Everton held on to a sensational 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The occasion marks
a fifth straight draw for the Toffees at Stamford Bridge, and the result means that Chelsea have
dropped even more points in this year's title race.
Jermaine Beckford came off the bench for Everton and scored the crucial equalizer with just five
minutes left in the 90.
Glass Half Full: The face of a man whose club has only won
once in six games...and whose country will be hosting the World Cup
Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, is hardly one to pose for the cameras or court the media. Sure,
he's ostentatious and unapologetic about his massive coffer(s) of money but putting on a show for
the cameras isn't something he is known for.
Defending EPL champions Chelsea are currently experiencing their worst ever run of form this is
according to their Ivorian striker Didier Drogba. Truth be told, the blues and to be specific Carlo
Ancelotti lost the plot with the untimely dismisall of assisstant caoch Ray Wilkins.
Ancelotti who had a very close relationship with his assistant was powerless to stop the club
from showing Mr.
England experienced a cold front last week but by the time Saturday's fixtures kicked off things
were already warming up. Chelsea's draw against Everton sees manager Carlo
Ancelotti sweating like never before. But Ancelotti isn't the only manager in London
feeling the heat.
1. With seven minutes of injury time, Carlo Ancelotti got injury time of Fergie proportions to beat
Everton but only got a point. 2. Samir Nasri definitely has a future career as a Strictly Come
Dancing contestant. 3. Although the best bit of the skill of the weekend was Gary Cahill's stepover
for Carlos Tevez's [.
It comes as no surprise to any of us right now that Chelsea have had a team meeting yesterday after
their training session ahead of the trip to Marseille this week. For the first time that I can
remember Carlo Ancelotti openly criticised his players after Everton.
Carlo's comments after the game have made headlines and the rumours and speculation continues about
his future.
Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table but Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion also
impressed. However,
Chelsea continued their recent struggles, when a late Jermaine
Beckford goal earned
Everton a well-deserved point in a 1-1 draw at Stamford
Bridge to leave Carlo Ancelotti's men with just one win in their last six league matches.
We have all commented on the continued press speculation about Carlo Ancelotti's future at the club
after the past few results. We have read numerous never-ending articles that fill our newspapers
and websites daily about how Chelsea are in a "crisis" and are in "free-fall" and have numerous
problems off the pitch that have and are affecting our results and performances.
Here we are in recent weeks reading numerous articles and reports about Carlo Ancelotti's future at
Stamford Bridge and today Newcastle have got rid of Chris Hughton. Newcastle sit 11th in the
Premier League in their first season back in the League after being promoted last season at his
first attempt as Manager.
Anelka uses interpretive dance to illustrate the club's recent plight.
Just watched the match again. Catharsis, no. In fact, I believe my dissatisfaction was
heightened during the revisit. That second half, well, it's not just poor, it's downright shameful.
So much so that the display is worthy of an inquisition.
There are reports appearing today that Carlo Ancelotti is hoping that Frank Lampard will be fit
enough to make a return to first team action this Sunday at Spurs, one week ahead of schedule. I
have asked the question on here about how much we miss Lampard and the fact remains that
Chelsea are not the same without him.
With tomorrow's game approaching, having already won the group but at the same time in need of a
confidence and morale boosting win at the Velodrome tomorrow night, I was wondering if you reading
this were Carlo Ancelotti then what team would you put out to start the game tomorrow and who would
be on the bench?
Having failed to win in their last five league games has finally worried the Chelsea's camp as
their tactician, Carlo Ancelotti already voiced out his concern with his team's current performance
after the match against Everton last weekend.
Giving his opinion about the manager's concern, Peter Cech, added some problems that caused the
team's current poor form, however the keeper also believes that this current bad period is still a
normal thing that could happen to any teams.
Carlo Ancelotti last night gave a press conference ahead of tonight's game against Marseille at the
Velodrome and he said the following:
"While we want to win, the result is not the most important thing. What is is the
performance to raise confidence levels.
It is important for us to believe that the season is still going to be a good one for
us.
