Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti have been put on red
alerts after Inter Milan forward Mario Balotelli's future was thrown into doubt following an
outburst by his Cameroonian teammate Samuel Eto'o.
If I hadn't read it in the Guardian I would have just laughed, but they have made a serious
accusation against Arsene Wenger. They reckon that the Arsenal manager said after his team's win at
Portsmouth on Wednesday that Chelsea and and Carlo Ancelotti "will drop points and steadily implode
over the remainder of the season [.

It seems that somehow the identity of the brothel visiting Premier League manager has somehow
remained a secret but it does appear some managers are emerging as front runners in the sleaze race
and the name mentioned most often in chatrooms and other hugely scientific places, appears to be a
certain Avram Grant (although we are not stating that this means he is the guilty party).
Chelsea enter 2010 as the top Premier League club, but with only two wins out of their last
eight games the Blues have showed signs of weakness. Manager Carlo Ancelotti remains adamant,
however, that Chelsea have done well over the past six months and he is content with his side's
chances entering the new year.
It was a relatively slow day in transfer news and rumors on Tuesday, and when such a day comes
about, you're bound to get an outlandish story or two for the sake of filler.
Along with The Sun's delivering of such a space filler and time killer, there were actually a
few more believable transfer tidbits from here, there, and everywhere on Tuesday, including the
latest on Chelsea's hunt for a new striker and Manchester United's hunt for a future #1
goalkeeper.
Roberto Mancini set to seal bargain addition to his moneybags Eastlands squad.

With Joe Cole out of contract at Chelsea in the summer, there's no surprise in there
being a few Premiership Clubs ‘poking their noses' into the status of the current situation
regarding the player at the moment.

Got it wrong v Stoke
After Arsenal's defeat at Stoke today in the FA Cup 4th Round it looks as if its Chelsea's
trophy to lose again this year, with the Blues being the only member of the so-called Big Four left
in the competition. The holders dispatched Preston with ease on Saturday and the absence of Didier
Drogba and Michael Essien has not slowed Carlo Ancelotti's men in their tracks.
Try as he might, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has a long way to go before he can even come
close to carrying the bags of Silvio Berlusconi.
AC Milan's owner and president has been at the forefront of European and Italian club soccer for
more than two decades, winning 5 European Cups during that period.
Chelsea's Florent Malouda wants first-team minutes as he is trying to solidify a roster spot
on the French national team as the 2010 World Cup approaches.
Speaking with L'Equipe, Malouda said: "Carlo Ancelotti's tactical system is physically very
demanding. Recently we showed less intensity, the game was less fluid.
Following a 2 goal performance against Watford in the FA Cup, Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge
has suddenly found himself in boss Carlo Ancelotti's good graces. The Italian manager believes
Sturridge can fill the void left by Didier Drogba while the Ivorian is at the African Cup of
Nations, and with Nicolas Anelka returning from injury there are encouraging signs in the new year
for the Blues.
If there is such a thing as a neutral football fan, he or she must be pleased with the UEFA
Champions League knockout stage draw. Three prodigal sons return to the places where they made
themselves household names.
Karim Benzema, Jose Mourinho and David Beckham each have their own points to prove to their
former employers.

That's right folks I have a surprise for you. The other Premier League manager named Alex
has impressed so far this season with his newboys currently residing in 8th place and one single
point behind Liverpool.
With the transfer window officially open for business, each new day brings with it a spate of
far-fetched player rumours. This week's jaw-dropper comes courtesy of The Times for
suggesting that Real Madrid are on the verge of pouncing for Manchester United's
Nemanja Vidic (as if Sir Alex is going to ditch his best defender when more than
half his backline are in the treatment room!
Today's transfer rumour round up is a bumper crop indeed. First off the bat is the news that
Chelsea are tracking this man...
Iaquinta is sidelined... literally
Rumour No.1: Chelsea are keeping tabs on crocked Juventus
striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.
The top four heavyweights in the Premier League are all immense forces it has to be said, but
they are most tested when without their talisman. Look at Liverpool without Fernando Torres and
Steven Gerrard, and how Arsenal have at times struggled without Robin Van Persie against Sunderland
and Burnley.
Ancelotti targets Juventus target man.

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti weighs up Vincenzo Iaquinta move
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is considering moving for Juventus and Italy forward Vincenzo
Iaquinta in the January transfer window.
Edin takes the Women's Singles title at Wimbledon
Rumour No.1: Despite Carlo Ancelotti's repeated protestations that Chelsea
will remain dormant during the transfer window, The Daily Mirror are today reporting
that The Blues are preparing a huge bid to trigger the buy-out clause in Edin
Dzeko's contract with his current club Wolfsburg.

Easy as pie-naar
A two goal, match winning, performance from Racing Santander wonderkid Sergio
Canales has moved him up a few places on Chelsea's wanted list. Canales has become big
news in La Liga recently after some eye catching displays, including four goals in his last three
games, and his impudent chipped finish against Sevilla has convinced Carlo Ancelotti that the young
midfielder has the potential to make it at Stamford Bridge.
According to The Times, Joe Cole's contract talks with Chelsea have hit a stumbling block over the
player's wage demands.
As the England international's contract is poised to expire during the summer, there is a real
possibility of the player leaving Stamford Bridge on a Bosman transfer.
For a league which draws snores and a national teams which draws derision, those Italians must be
doing something right. Everywhere you look in England, they just keep popping up. From all the way
at the tippety-top of the English national team down to the Championship, there's an Italian to be
found.
Rafael Benitez signed a 5 year contract at Liverpool in the summer, and this is probably the
only thing saving him from the proverbial noose. Its often cited his transfer policy is to blame,
that he has been unlucky with injuries, and that his team is over-reliant on two players, but in
truth, his failing is a social one.
Carlo Ancelotti watched on as his Chelsea side took apart Sunderland at Stamford Bridge. The
Blues looked imperious as they raced into a four nil half time lead. They were a constant threat to
the Black Cats goal and the west London side could have scored ten but for some superb saves from
Marton Fulop.
On the same day that United were playing Burnley, champions elect, Chelsea, were destroying
Sunderland at Stamford Bridge, it finished up 7-2 and the score-line didn't flatter Carlo
Ancelotti's team. In sharp contrast at Old Trafford, but for some poor finishing by Steven Fletcher
and David Nugent, Manchester United, could easily have lost for the second time this season against
the Lancashire
Benefits of a winter break. As a result of severe weather conditions, only two
of last week's Premiership fixtures were fulfilled. Manchester United tied
Birmingham and Arsenal drew with Everton. Chelsea's match at
Hull City has since been postponed to early February.

With more than half the season gone the table has finally settled down and we now know who will
be competing for what in the coming weeks.
At the foot of the table crisis club Portsmouth have crammed a decade's worth of problems into
this season alone, and not just on the pitch.
Continuing the Decade in Review, we now move on to the 2000/2001 season, another highly
interesting and exciting season. For the first time in ages, the Scudetto was won back to back by
teams not named Juventus, Inter, or Milan and for the first time in Italian calcio history the
Scudetto stayed in Rome for 2 consecutive seasons.
Michael Essien is a severe doubt for the first leg of Chelsea's UEFA Champions League round of
16 tie against Inter Milan after being ruled out for "four to six weeks" with a knee injury.
Essien picked up the injury while playing in the Africa Cup with Ghana. The midfielder returned
to north London and following tests the club say he is likely to miss the trip to the San Siro on
24 February.

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has had a little swipe at Man United by stating that Man United
wouldn't be able to win the title without Wayne Rooney. I think that, that's probably a fair
enough...
