Reading striker Leroy Lita is a proud man, especially of his sexual exploits. The 22-year-old
apparently made a mobile sex video allegedly with his girlfriend that he then sent to teammates as
a laugh. Trouble began when those teammates sent it to friends at other Premiership clubs and now
the U21 England International is receiving taunts from players around the league.

There is a history behind the guy who single-handedly acted as executioner in Manchester United's
2-0 loss to Championship side Coventry City in the Carling Cup. Mifsud scored an early goal and a
clincher in the 70th minute to put the Red Devils on edge in front of over 70,000 at Old Trafford.

A fairly easy win for Arsenal's B side, with two goals from Eduardo and a third from
Denilson.
United just didn't have the horses.
Hey, at least Wenger didn't make Lehmann start in goal today.
Full lineup here.
Only two days after defeating Chelsea in the Premier League Arsenal travel to Ewood Park to face
Blackburn in the Carling Cup quarterfinals.
The team is likely to be hugely different from the near-full-strength squad that beat the blues to
keep Arsenal on top of the Premier League, as Arsene Wenger always tries to field his kids during
cup ties.
Arsene Wenger will continue to blood his youngsters in the Carling Cup, even against the tough
opposition of Blackburn. The Arsenal coach feels that playing a young squad will not only increase
the experience of Arsenal's fringe players, but also allow the Gunners' senior squad a chance to
rest during period congested with fixtures.
A quick chance for revenge following our recent 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane, with Pascal
Chimbonda's controversial goal proving the difference. City are looking for there 10th straight
home win.
Spurs had a good win at Pompey on Saturday and will certainly be a different proposition from the
confidence drained side of just a couple of weeks ago.
We were down to the final eight teams in the Carling Cup; the "Elite" or "Great" eight if you're a
fan of college basketball and the NCAA Tournament, the boring last eight if you're not, but six
days ago, Everton sent West Ham out of the competition with a 2-1 victory at Upton Park. Three more
quarterfinals remain to be played with two of them taking place today and the other to kickoff
tomorrow.

The big story surrounding the game is Robbie Fowler's return to Anfield, but focus will also be on
the strength of Liverpool's squad and who plays with the injuries currently facing the club.
Ten-man Arsenal defeated Blackburn 3-2 in extra time, after a tense 120 minutes at Ewood Park. The
Gunners gained an early lead thanks to Abou Diaby and Eduardo, but Blackburn came back through a
Roque Santa Cruz brace. Neves Denilson was sent off during second half stoppage time, but Arsenal's
youngsters showed great character as Eduardo bagged his second during the first half of extra time
to propel the Gunners to victory after a titanic clash.
What are ya gonna do? When three players of the opposition are worth more than your whole side in
transfer fees, a 2-0 loss with only ten men on the pitch has to be considered a valiant effort. I
didn't know Chelsea needed an ego boost that bad, but I guess I was wrong.
All our boys need to be commended for their performances.
Well, another match day is here and I'll get to the normal routine in a bit, but first it's time to
cover what's going on in the world of all things Liverpool FC. First off, John Arne Riise is
furious that one of his wageslips from last season has been made public. The 27-year-old defender
is convinced the paper was somehow stolen from him since he would never just throw something
containing such sensitive information in the trash.
Manchester City will play Tottenham Hotspur. Incidentally, I read one of the articles from a Spurs
fan on Soccernet.com very recently and it made me laugh in some respects. Undoubtedly superbly
written, how hard it must be ‘to have not won a trophy since 1999', not to mention having Arsenal
as your biggest rivals as [...]
Yesterday, Arsenal beat Blackburn 3-2 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Carling Cup. With an
average age of 20, Arsenal were able to score a last minute stoppage time goal to overcome a
physical Blackburn side. Arsenal, however, were limited to 10 men after Denilson was red-carded for
a somewhat limited tackle, and were [.

Outside of a moment of sheer idiocy from Peter Crouch and an unfortunate deflection off Carragher,
I really can't complain.
It's just a Carling Cup tie, but there are folks around the world that would love to see this
match. The match is not on TV here in the States. Does anyone know where this match can be viewed?

I hate not seeing a Liverpool game.
Having only seen about a minute's worth of highlights, I'm absolutely unqualified to say much more
about the match other than I'm surprised both Carra and Gerrard started (although Stevie played
because Sissoko was still sick), and there were a few things that pleased: Babel got a chance to
play as a striker, Hobbs got his first team debut, Leto and Lucas got more first team action, El
Zhar scored a peach of a goal (as did Gerrard, his 3rd in 3 games), and Liverpool's in the draw for
the last 8.
...According to Rafa Benitez that is. Despite losing two Premier League games on the trot, a
debilitating loss to Reading and a beating against the run of play to Man Utd - Rafa Benitez
remains positive about his side's Carling Cup game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tonight.
While simultaneously conceding that Chelsea are [.
The quarter-final curse that has afflicted both the club and Sven over the past few seasons failed
to be exorcised last night in what at the time was one of the more frustrating evenings of
following City, and on reflection one of the biggest opportunities wasted.
To plat at home against a side not in fantastic form, reduced to ten men after just twenty minutes
on our home ground where we had won every game so far this season is an opportunity that doesn't
present itself too often, and clearly we blew it.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez had a pop at ref Martin Atkinson after his team's 2-0 Carling Cup
quarter final loss to Chelsea for not penalizing Mikel John Obi for the two fouls he committed
before Crouch did his wild lunge - and a wild lunge from a man as lanky as Peter Crouch [...]
After suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Ipswich on the opening day of the Championship and
selling star left winger Chris Brunt to West Brom in the aftermath, the Owls faced a mid-week
Carling Cup tie in the first round away to local rivals Rotherham. Things didn't look good early as
the League Two side jumped out to an early lead. Fortunately, Wednesday were able to set things
right and storm back to win 3-1 and advance to a Round 2 tie with Hartlepool.
Daryl from The Offside eluded after Sheva's game against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday that Sheva
should pack his bags and move on. I know there are sites on the Internet that want Sheva back at AC
Milan, the club that Roman Abramovich paid £30m for Sheva's services 14 months ago.
As Daryl also pointed out and the story maybe more true than false, that Sheva was an Abramovich
signing more than a Mourinho signing.
Arsene Wenger is once again deploying a veritable "B" Team for the Carling Cup this season. So
far, so good, as the hosts defeated Newcastle 2-0 behind goals from Nicklas Bendtner and Deilson,
each coming in the last 10 minutes of the match.
More later, but you can see the lineups after the jump.

I sincerely apologize for second guessing Rafa Benitez, I really should know better by now. Of
course after all that was written, Torres would score his first hat trick for the club and be the
difference between the two sides.

*Sir Alex takes the piss with that team*
I pity the poor season ticket holders that were forced to pay for a ticket to that shambles.
Never in a million years did I expect to write such a surprising scoreline as written in the the
subject header line. I have always believed that you should always 'EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED' when it
comes to the fortunes of Chelsea Football Club and that statement is so Chelsea in the light of
events that have happened over the last couple of weeks.
I have to admit that these are the funnest matches to try and predict what kind of line-up Rafa
will put out. Most of the time I just go with who I would play, which is rarely ever the same as
Benitez, but he's got a few more credentials and a lot more experience than me. For this match
though, the boss has already alluded that he's going to rest certain first-teamers and let some
kids get playing time.
So, the eight teams left at this point are all from the Premiership, which is kind of boring. But
the fourth-round results were reasonably interesting, including a late penalty for Manchester City,
a 90th-minute winner for West Ham, and Everton winning with an extra-time goal.
Chelsea went behind twice to Leicester, and needed a hat-trick from Lampard plus a late goal from
Shevchenko before they finally went through.
In case you missed it over the weekend, and I'm guessing most of you did - the quarterfinal round
for the Carling Cup was drawn and some interesting ties came out. The most obvious is Liverpool
visiting Chelsea. Of course...
West Ham United are safe from relegation this season and that's something when you consider in the
summer they lost their Messiah Carlos Tevez who almost single handedly rescued the West Ham ship
after it had appeared to be sinking for much of the season. The Hammers lie 10th in the table with
22 points [.

The Reserves had a friendly with Tottenham yesterday, that they won 2-1 behind goals from David
Martin and Craig Lindfield. More importantly, any player featured in that match will probably not
get the call at Stamford Bridge tomorrow. That means sadly there'll be no chance of getting to see
Emiliano Insua, Jay Spearing, Ray Putterill, or Krisztián Németh, among others, but neither Nabil
El Zhar, Jack Hobbs, nor Sebastián Leto played, so they may feature.

This'll be the third time Liverpool's faced Chelsea in domestic cup competition since Benitez took
over. Liverpool won 2-1 in both last year's Community Shield and the 05/06 FA Cup semi-final, while
Chelsea won 3-2 in the 04/05 Carling Cup final.
Arsenal will face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the semifinals of the Carling Cup for
the second season running. The other semifinal will be a tough contest between Everton and
Chelsea.
Arsenal made it through to the semifinals after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers,
while Tottenham barely had to fight to defeat Manchester City, despite playing 70 minutes with 10
men after the sending off of Didier Zokora.
Alhassan "Al" Bangura - the Watford midfielder and Sierra Leone native - was granted the
opportunity to qualify for a work permit, which effectively has kept him from being sent back to
Sierra Leone for the time being. If it was a 'regular' work permit hearing, Bangura would still be
packing his bags, but apparently the [.
I've decided to revamp my ratings system for a number of reasons. Before I was rating players
individually, as in how well they played compared to how well I've seen them play. The problem with
that is I feel that it doesn't really show the proper value of a player's performance in relation
to the whole side.
