Expected, but out of the blue. Kuyt to Fenerbahce is official, not long after initial reports
surfaced early this morning.
So, what will you remember most? His hat-trick against United probably leads the list, and
rightfully so, but we're not wanting for choices. There's his five strikes against Everton,
including two game-winners.
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner insists that new manager Brendan Rodgers will be given time to bring
success back to Anfield.
Rodgers became Liverpool's fourth manager in just two years when he was appointed as Kenny
Dalglish's successor on Friday.
That represents a period of unprecedented upheaval for a club that had just eight managers in the
previous 50 years.

Sky Sports sources understand that Liverpool have agreed a compensation fee with Swansea for
Brendan Rodgers and three of his backroom staff.
The Anfield outfit now look to have removed the final obstacle in their search for a new boss with
confirmation of Rodgers' appointment on a three-year deal expected to follow.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is aiming to be fit for the start of pre-season training as he
continues to recover from a serious knee injury sustained last year.
Lucas suffered cruciate ligament damage to his left knee during Liverpool's Carling Cup victory
against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in November, and was required to undergo surgery.
Several months ago, I speculated that Robin Van Persie may leave Arsenal this summer. At the
time, I optimistically envisioned him heading to Barcelona. Why was that optimistic? Well, City had
not yet won a trophy, whereas Barcelona were on track to win a possible three. Also, David Villa
suffered from a serious injury.
The following is a copy of the letter that Eden Hazard (the budding egomaniac) sent to
Chelsea upon tweeting his decision to join the Champions League winners...
What's up Chelsea,
I'd like to congratulate you on winning the most prestigious title in all of European
football.
Had a request following the last graphic, which listed each players' total appearances, to break it
down into minutes played. Appearances can be deceiving, after all. Ask and ye shall receive
(sometimes).
Total possible minutes were 3420 in the Premier League, 540 in the FA Cup, and 660 in the Carling
Cup.
The Reds had another season to forget. - 37 points behind the title winners, Manchester City -
Racism rows which divided opinions between player, manager and owners - A totally unnecessary siege
mentality - Finishing behind cross-town rivals, Everton - Losing pathetically in the FA Cup Final -
Having a dismal home record at what used to be "fortress" Anfield - Not gaining maximum points
against the eventual bottom six in the Premiership table
And yet, Liverpool amidst a trying season, won the Carling Cup, making Suarez, Carroll and
Henderson first time winners of an English club football competition.

The Carling Cup win was the highlight...It was a very mixed
season for Liverpool that ended in the departure of Kenny Dalglish. It started well but as the
league campaign continued, things began to get difficult for the Reds. Two cup finals and one cup
win gave the lads some glory but an 8th place finish in the league provided a dark shadow over the
season.
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Liverpool have been given permission to discuss their
managerial vacancy with Roberto Martinez.
The Reds took the decision to part with Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish on Wednesday.
He helped the club to Carling Cup glory in 2011/12, but paid the price for a disappointing
eighth-place finish in the Premier League.
Having decided to part company with Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool now face the very real possibility
that some players could look to leave with defender Martin Skrtel considering his future.
The centre-back, who was awarded the Liverpool player of the year, has revealed that he wants to
know if the clubs ambitions will match his own after a difficult league campaign.
So the season is over and another summer is upon us. It's been here for four days and already
I'm bored of it. As Mick Jagger once drawled, "the sunshine bores the daylights out of me." (Not
that that presents a problem in London, but stick with the metaphor). Already I find myself looking
ahead to those glove handed, dribbly nosed November afternoons.
I have been reflecting on yesterday's firing of Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and I was
struck by the contrasting comments made by Liverpool Chairman Tom Werner and Dalglish
yesterday.
Werner basically said that KD was fired because of the team's poor league form:
"However, results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the
progress that has already been made, we need to make a change.
Guess it's about time to do a review of the season. Having thought about it, numerous ways to do
it. Luckily, Arsenal's official website came up with the numbers which is exactly what I'm basing
the review on. All statistics used will be denoted by number in brackets.
Third in the Premier League, last 16 of the Champions League, 6th round of the FA Cup and
quarter finals of the Carling Cup.

Despite his regal status and winning the Carling Cup, Liverpool have sacked Kenny Dalglish,
whose second stint as manager of the club lasted less than two years. Now faced with the daunting
task of finding a manager to return the club to past glory, Liverpool owner John W. Henry must sift
through the candidates to find the best one.
Liverpool Football Club have parted ways with manager Kenny Dalglish after another disappointing
EPL season. Despite the club winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final, Liverpool were
continually inconsistent in league play and finished behind their rivals Everton.
Dalglish took over the reigns as manager after Roy Hodgson was sacked in January 2011.
TweetLiverpool have sacked boss Kenny Dalglish after the Reds endured a miserable league campaign
despite winning the Carling Cup and reaching the FA Cup final. The shock news was broken on
Wednesday afternoon with the decision coming just two days after Liverpool owners John W. Henry and
Tom Werner held a showdown summit with Dalglish [.
Kenny Dalglish has been sacked as Liverpool manager.
"After a careful and deliberative review of the season, the club came to the decision that a change
was appropriate," read a statement.
"Results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that
has already been made, we need to make a change.
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel insists he will be fit in time for pre-season after undergoing
nasal surgery.
The Reds' player of the year missed the defeat at Swansea on the final day of the season but has no
doubts he will soon recover.
"I am a little bit better now, but still not good as I still feel some pain in my nose," Skrtel
told Liverpool's official website.
Glen Johnson believes Liverpool's season could have been very different if it weren't for the Reds
hitting the woodwork so often.
Liverpool endured a frustrating league campaign, with Kenny Dalglish's men finishing the season in
eighth place behind rivals Everton and well off the race for a Champions League spot.
You will always be a legend...Liverpool Football Club have today
announced that Kenny Dalglish will no longer be the manager at Anfield next season. The Liverpool
legend won the Carling Cup and sent the Reds to an FA Cup final but it was his league position that
appeared to create the problem.
King Kenny's reign at Liverpool is over.
Kenny Dalglish is out as Liverpool manager after a disappointing season during which the Reds
finished in eighth place in the Premier League. The club's Carling Cup triumph and appearance in
the FA Cup final could not mask the overall struggles in league play, as the club went 14-14-10 and
was nowhere near the race for a Champions League berth for the final months of the campaign.

The Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has left Anfield after talks with the club's American
owners.
Dalglish had traveled to the US to meet with the Liverpool owners, where he presented his
end-of-season review, outlined his plans for next season and answered questions from John Henry and
Tom Werner about the missed targets this season.

It's been coming hasn't it? Since Liverpool ended the 2011/12 season with another disappointing
performance, this time losing to Swansea, King Kenny has been living on borrowed time. And now, in
a (possible) attempt to bury bad news on the day Roy Hodgson named his first England squad, the
Anfield top brass have decided to part company with their manager.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the Blackburn Rovers boss after a video appeared on
YouTube in which Steve Kean is apparently slating Sam Allardyce and claiming that at the end of the
season Blackburn will have finished in the top half of the Premier League and will have won the
Carling Cup.
New footage showing Blackburn manager Steve Kean bad-mouthing his predecessor Sam Allardyce and
claiming Rovers would finish in the top-half of the table this season has emerged. The video,
reportedly filmed during last summer's pre-season trip to Hong Kong, was uploaded to YouTube
yesterday. We can only assume that whoever recorded wanted to give Kean [.
I figure we'll start the usual season wrap-up stuff with the easiest, most enjoyable post. Multiple
infographics and an almost certainly depressing narrative season review to follow.

There's a footballer in there somewhere.
Liverpool have drawn up their blueprint for the summer transfer market and it does not include
significant outgoings from their squad.
Manager Kenny Dalglish spent more than £80million in the last close-season on the likes of Stewart
Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, but a disappointing Premier League campaign has
included just six home wins.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has taken a swipe at reports in some Sunday newspapers that he
will leave the manager's position in the summer.
John W Henry and Tom Werner, who head the Fenway Sports Group, were expected to meet with the Scot
following their final day defeat at Swansea.
Danny Graham's 100th career goal condemned the Reds to an eighth-placed finish and a 14th defeat of
the season.
The Biggest Losers of 2011/12: Liverpool, Manchester United and more - originally posted on

Despite a fantastically entertaining season with a raft of Premier League winners this term, it
has been a campaign to forget for some teams and individuals. Euro 2012, the Olympics and the
summer transfer window are approaching, and for some 2011-12 could not come to an end quick
enough.
Kenny Dalglish has set out his stall for Liverpool to mount a title challenge next season.
The Reds scooped the Carling Cup this year, but it has proved to be a season of disappointment with
the Reds in eighth in the table going into the final game of the season.
Dalglish claims plans are being made to take the club forward, with possible transfer business
taking place in the summer, and is looking for the Reds to be challenging at the top of the table
next season.
Lansbury wonder goal for Under 21′s vs Belgium
Signing for Arsenal at the tender age of 9, central midfielder Henri Lansbury came up through
the ranks until he eventually signed a professional contract in 1 July 2008. After a successful
loan spell at Scunthorpe United in League One (which included 4 goals and 5 assists in 16

The 21-year-old is proud to have started in three Wembley outings in the space of just four
months in 2012 and is delighted that the Reds were able to end a six-year wait for silverware by
winning the Carling Cup in February this year.
However, the youngster also knows he and his teammates are capable of performing to higher
standards in the league and insists there has been ample evidence throughout this year's campaign
to indicate the team's potential to climb the table next year.
Over the past seven years Arsenal's defensive inadequacies have been there for all to see. The
same amount of time the team has failed to win a trophy. It's also no coincidence it's seven years
since Patrick Viera left the club too.
Arsenal fans must feel like they are caught in a very long version of Ground Hog Day.

The 2011/12 season is going to go down in the annuls at Liverpool as one of disappointment when
it comes to the Premier League, but Daniel Agger remains confident the Reds can get back to
challenging for the Premier League title in their next campaign.
Kenny Dalglish has guided Liverpool to the Carling Cup triumph and also the FA Cup final where
they lost out to Chelsea, but when it comes to their league campaign it has been one of displeasure
and anguish around Anfield.
