If you are a connoisseur of Twitter like me, then you've already stumbled upon the terms
"twiggers" and "twitches" numerous times and you've undoubtedly already figured out what they
really mean. So to pacify the Decency and Morals Subcommittee of World Cup Blog, I will be using
those terms (well, actually only one of those terms) liberally during this post in order to avoid
getting into twouble.
Red Stars midfielder to face Germany on Oct. 29 Chicago Red Stars midfielder Megan Rapinoe was one of 18 players named to the U.S. Women's National
Team on Monday for the team's Oct. 29 match against Germany. This year she has played in all seven of the U.S.'s international matches, posting two goals, an

Chicago forces Sol to allow season-high goal total BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - Heading into the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer season, the Los Angeles Sol

The WPS home page and standings page are afraid to admit it, apparently, but Chicago is out of the
playoffs. I'm guessing it's because "See the Sol and Red Stars jog around for two hours!" isn't a
recipe for FSC ratings gold. Nevertheless, we must not quail from the truth. The Red Stars have 17 points, and two games left =
maximum of 23 points. Click to continue reading...
Chicago, Washington fight to stay in WPS playoff picture So many elements have to work in the Chicago Red Stars' favor. One thing they can control is their

we carry on in spite of any/everything!

Today is the 27th birthday of U.S. midfielder Carli Lloyd, and being an international soccer
player, of course she celebrated during a WNT training camp. Carli actually got the Birthday Song

abilities, and she did so in a big way with the first hat trick in WPS history as Chicago earned
its second straight win, defeating FC Gold Pride, 3-1, at Toyota Park. Click to continue reading...

All I can say is Yahoo! Today's the day that RPE comes home ... landing at Logan this
afternoon after logging lots of hours in the sky. She'll be home and telling stories by
dinnertime if everything goes according to schedule. (Did I say Yahoo??!!)
Also yahoo-worthy was the USWNT's defeat of Canada last night although I must say by the end I
was beginning to feel a little sorry for Carolina Morace and the Canadian side by the end.
Fire's Blanco nominated for awards; Soumare chats on ESPN.com Megan Rapinoe and Lindsay Tarpley of Women's Professional Soccer's Chicago Red Stars netted goals

When you are a soccer player, it goes without saying that you'd rather hurt your hand than your
foot (unless you are a goalkeeper). We're not sure what caused the rash or wrist/thumb/arm/hand
injuries on the U.S. Women's National Team, but as you can see, Shannon Boxx and Marian Dalmy both
are sporting some protection for injuries. Click to continue reading...

American countries will not take place until Monday, May 25; however, quite a few players traveled
on Thursday and will miss Week Nine of the WPS.

With 4 out for WNT duty, other Chicago players take on added role For those of you Chicago Red Stars fans who took advantage of the ticket deal that includes a
