Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the Caribbean...Jack Warner, the infamous former
CONCACAF boss and FIFA Vice-President, is back in the news.Still smarting from his banishment in

Shocking news coming out of the Caribbean this afternoon. News outlets in Panama are saying that
the Bahamas FA have announced that they have withdrawn from the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying
tournament. The announcement came in the form of a memorandum sent by FIFA's head of Qualifying
Competitions to the Panamanian FA.
The investigations into FIFA's corrupt practices continue, and the attention has again been
focused on American Chuck Blazer.
Andrew Jennings, one of soccer's most outspoken reformers, released a new detailed report
yesterday with a laundry list of accusations against Blazer and his lavish lifestyle.

ELIZABETH, New Jersey -- The Caribbean champ will clash with its Central American counterpart when
Honduras meets Jamaica.

After Jack Warner (Pres. CONCACAF) was suspended by FIFA pending full investigation acting Pres.

On Sunday, St Lucia and Aruba will start the World Cup qualifying cycle which begins with matches
between Caribbean micro-states and concludes with inter-confederation playoffs in late 2013.
Whereas in previous cycles the first-round winners of the CONCACAF qualifiers would face another
two-leg series followed by certain elimination, the winners of this round will be rewarded with
more competitive matches and more home matches, and challenged with increased travel all over the
region.
The CONCACAF Congress has been taking place in Miami this week, and the proceedings have been
dominated by the CONCACAF executive elections and the impending FIFA elections. To the surprise of
no one, Jack Warner ran unopposed for a sixth term as CONCACAF President, and he was elected
unaminously. The other positions on the executive committee were contested, and here are the
results: CONCACAF VP North America: Justino Compeán (Mexico) CONCACAF VP Central America: Ariel
Alvarado (Panama) CONCACAF VP Caribbean: Lisle Austin (Barbados) FIFA Executive Committee, Central
American region: Rafael Salguero (Guatemala) The Executive Committee also approved its own

Today, in the Copa Centroamericana (one of approximately 80 international tournaments currently
in progress around the world), the 5th place match was won by Guatemala over Nicaragua. Why, you
may ask, should those outside of one of those two countries pay any mind at all to that fact? The
answer is that 5th place in that particular Copa came with a bonus the final invite to the 2011
CONCACAF Gold Cup.
