The story linking Jose Mourinho with a move to Manchester United as manager one day continues to
rumble on. Mourinho has in the past hinted that he would like the job, and again this week, that he
sees his long term future in England.
It would seem unlikely that a return to Chelsea would be on the cards and, going on the assumption
he would only go to a top 4 club, unless there is new ownership at Arsenal then his style of play
wouldn't exactly be welcomed at the Emirates which leaves Man Utd or Liverpool.

Reporter Phil Collin follows up Thursday's initial news with a more detailed story in today's
newspaper you can read here.
Preki, as usual playing his cards close to his chest, doesn't reveal a whole lot:
"I've been here four years and I think we have done a pretty decent job advancing
Chivas to a certain level.

Ever since joining
Man United in 2007,
Owen Hargreaves has been having a terrible
time with injuries. Hargreaves finally joined United in 2007 after almost a year of speculation and
negotiations between United and German side Bayern Munich.
The first season he was at United was successful; he helped United win the Champions League and the
Premier League.

Wayne Rooney may be a legend to some already, but on paper and in the history books he is
overshadowed by names such as Ryan Giggs, Bobby Charlton, Jack Rowley and George Best.
Giggs, 34, is the most decorated player in the Premier League's history and tops the club's
appearance charts having played in an amazing 816 (and counting) matches for the club in a career
spanning nearly 20 years.

I've written that Garber keeps his ideological cards close to his chest, but in fining DCU Prez
Kevin Payne $5000 today for calling a spade a spade—that the onfield product in MLS is not good
enough and won't draw in more fans until it is—means that the guy isn't hearing what needs to be
heard.
This is really not good, especially in light of the fact Payne didn't even mention bringing better
players with more money, everyone's favourite MLS bugbear.

The news that Mike Ashley is seeking to sell off the naming rights to St. James' Park is up there
with Ken Bates' electric fence at Chelsea, Colin Moynihan's supporters' ID cards and Newcastle's
own recruitment of Dennis Wise as one of the crassest notions in football history. Until now, I
think most outside the Gallowgate have looked on with some bemusement at the Geordie fans'
vilification of

International breaks are good for one reason: transfer rumors. This time the Daily Mail
is reporting that Manchester City midfielder/striker Robinho could be on his way back to Spain, but
this time with European heavyweights Barcelona.
According to reports, Â Robinho has failed to impress the City management team and the club may
be ready to cash in on their mega-money signing.

There was no surprise because there couldn't have been one. This is the level of the Polish
national team currently and the sooner we realize that the less frustrated we'll be. No miracle was
on the cards as six of our starters were from the Ekstraklasa, a league that doesn't even have its
representative in the Euro Cup group round (Moldova has, Austria has four).

With the first quarter of football almost over in most leagues around Europe, now is a good time
to measure the current progress of some of the giant clubs on the continent. Actually, analyzing
the success or failure of clubs in general won't be nearly as exciting as identifying a more
specific object of analysis.

Great result for Arsenal today at home against Wigan.
This type of match can divide opinion, because the performance wasn't always as good as the
result.
The match will live in the memory for the performance of Arsenal's new central defender Thomas
Vermaelen. He's a good player.

compiling U.S. MNT statistics.

its stats beyond goals, caps, minutes, and cards. Based on the early success of this site, U.

Perth were up 2-0 for most of the game. Some very poor sighted refing allowed the GC Allstars back
into the game. Is Miron allowed to hung the 4th official?
We like NRL Boss Gallop's take on coaches speaking out - it is OK so long as they don't say the
refs were corrupt. Under that fair rule only one team would have been fined so far and it wouldn't
have been Brisbane fined.

With confirmation that Danny Allsopp has left for Qatar club Al-Rayyan Sports, Melbourne Victory
has lost not only one of its two primary scoring targets but a long time servant of the club.
Of course the writing has been on the wall (or in this case within the forums) for a week now after
Allsopp failed to not only take the field against Newcastle but wasn't even present at the game.

David Beckham will move to a club in Europe during the January transfer window. Everyone said that
he would be moving to Chelsea, but after their ruckus with FIFA, I can't see that on the cards.
Redknapp has gone on record and said how much he likes David Beckham. I'm sure he would love him at
The Lane just for the status and excess baggage he brings with him.

Morning/afternoon/evening/night to whoever you are from wherever you are reading. If I were you
I would head for that red cross in the corner of your browser because quite frankly, there is
bugger all going on at the moment.
I think it goes to show just how quiet things are when all four of Newsnow's top stories are
"Wenger talks about Balotelli".

We all know you get a yellow card for taking your shirt off but what's the rule on freeing your
feet? Is there a precedent? And since there are two shoes do you get two cards? Is this something
for foot fetishist-only or is should children be encouraged to do it as well?

You look at a lot of sides or managers who are aiming for grander things in the long run, and it is
often the Carling Cup that has been the first stepping stone on that journey.
Whilst the nature of cup competition are a little difficult to predict, this competition is the one
that looks most likely to yield a trophy during 2009/10.

I feel for Pav, I really do. This is the year in which he's supposed to be banging in the goals so
that he can get the worldwide recognition he feels he deserves, but he's also wanting to impress
Hiddink. I'm pretty sure Hiddink, who never liked Pav wearing Lilywhite, wants all his players
playing regularly.

We got the loss here I was fearing. Perhaps not a pleasing result but immediately we notice the
away goal we scored. This will help us alot since really all we need in OAKA now is 1-0.
Before anything else two points must be pointed out. Firstly, Scocco was out for this match due
to cards and will play with us for the next match.

In the video below, having the swine flu was not that big a deal. It was just like any other flu.
In fact, he wanted to play more and in the first half of the match vs Seattle, but wasn't brought
on until later. He also believed that Marshall should have been carded much earlier.
