Wouldn't you know it. After three months off, You Write the Caption has made a strong comeback,
with this week's entry drawing a new record for submissions entered.
Let's face it, the above photo of Josh Wicks can't help but inspire the comedy writer in all of
us.
Aw, remember that one? What a classic that was. It's no American Gothic but around these parts it's
what passes for high art.
Below are some of my favorite photos and captions from TOR's past. My love of marrying a good photo
with periods and Helvetica may have gone to far on occasion but that's no reason to stop.

Since I'm in an "uploading-pictures" kind of mood, here are selected snapshots of Euro
2008's France vs. Italy match two days ago. Emphasis on "selected" (i.e. by me, because I
thought they were funny and because I just can). Also, since every self-respecting picture should
include a caption, I have provided two for each.
The best caption wins a five-disc DVD box set... Poor C-Ron: sat in the stands during Sunday's
Community Shield, all alone and probably wishing he was in Madrid. Oh well, how much sympathy can
you have for a man who...
I've got to credit Du Nord and the US Soccer Blog for this, but who can come come up w/the best

Every once in awhile, we run across a photo that screams for a caption.
It has been a good while since the last installment of You Write the Caption but I can tell you
that this week SBI will have at least two contests.
Today's photo, courtesy of ISIphotos.com, is of New York Red Bulls head coach Juan Carlos
Osorio, who has done an admirable job leading his new club to a 5-4-4 mark despite a myriad of
injuries and the transfer of Jozy Altidore.
Well folks. You knew it was just a matter of time.
It has been a few months since that old SBI staple, You Write the Caption, has graced us but it
is now time to get it back into the rotation. Many of you have been asking for it to come back and
I will now look to make it a weekly installment.
More than a year ago, we tried to run a write-the-caption type thing but it got a muted response. I
hadn't thought much about that until I snapped this picture last year. And then somewhere along the
line I forgot about it. Until now.
Here's our second installment of Caption This, and it's a pretty good shot if I do say so myself.
Deco arrived at Chelsea from Barcelona, for a fee of around £7million, on Monday night and
instantly declared that he can help the Blues become the best team in the Premier League and in
Europe.
