Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is renowned for his confidence. And he's shown considerable
self-confidence in judging that his latest revelation to the media wouldn't annoy his Arsenal
team-mates or Chelsea captain John Terry. The Poland international has spilled the beans in an
interview with the Polish edition of Playboy magazine, revealing that John Terry is [.
England coach Roy Hodgson has added Liverpool defender Martin Kelly to his squad for Saturday's
friendly away to Norway.
Hodgson, who was recently appointed as the long-term successor to Fabio Capello, named his 23-man
squad for Euro 2012 last week.
However, three of the seven out-and-out defenders selected in that squad have been given extra time
off following Chelsea's UEFA Champions League win over Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Chelsea captain John Terry has refused to pay attention to media and rival supporters' mockery
of his Champions League celebrations, insisting that he feels blessed to simply be a part of the
most glorious week in the Blues' history.
Terry received a red card in the semifinal second leg clash with Barcelona last month and
despite his team's progression, he was reduced to watching from the sidelines as Bayern Munich came
within striking distance of crushing Chelsea's dreams in the final.
Suspended captain John Terry who played no part in the Champions League final lifting the
Champions League was probably as low as it could get. On the other hand, one cannot but feel happy
for Didier Drogba, who lives and dies football everytime he steps out on the pitch. Even his
orchestrated dives cannot be grudged.
This is it. Chelsea play Bayern Munich at Bayern's home stadium -- the Allianz Arena -- in the
2012 Champions League final. Both sides are looking to make up for recent failures in this match.
Chelsea lost the rain-soaked 2008 final to Manchester United after captain John Terry slipped and
missed what should have been the winning shot in an excruciating penalty shootout, while Bayern
lost the 2010 final to Jose Mourinho's treble-winning Inter.

There hasn't been any shortage of excitement on the road to Munich, and Saturday marks the final
chapter in what has been a UEFA Champions League that will be remembered as one of the more
unpredictable tournaments in recent years.
Bayern Munich and Chelsea broke up what was seemed as an inevitable Clasico final and dispelled
the myth of a two-team power rising in the Champions League.
England manager, Roy Hodgson, has named his squad for this summer's European Championships in
Poland and Ukraine. Any fans hoping for surprise call-ups and omissions will have been sadly
disappointed.
The 23-man squad follows a familiar pattern, with the inclusion of Steven Gerrard, as captain, and
Chelsea favourites, Ashley Cole and John Terry, in defence, as well as club mate Frank Lampard in
midfield.
Liverpool striker Andy Carroll claims that his late header should have taken the FA Cup final to
extra time and denied Chelsea their 2-1 victory.
The Liverpool substitute had already scored once and thought he had equalized in the 82nd minute
when Petr Cech clawed the ball out of his goal via the crossbar.
Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo and Captain John Terry talk exclusively to FATV about
tomorrows FA Cup Final.
Former Deputy Editor of the Official United Magazine, Sam Pilger, has written an excellent book
on United's best ever XI. The eleven players are named and reviewed, looking at their qualities and
revealing stories you probably haven't heard before.
The left wing position in our best ever team obviously goes to Ryan Giggs.
Is Pep Guardiola's Barcelona reign coming to an end?
That was the question after Chelsea on Tuesday ended Barcelona's attempt to win back-to-back
Champions League titles, claiming a 3-2 aggregate triumph over Guardiola's side in the semifinal.
The loss came three days after Real Madrid defeated Barcelona, making it unlikely the Catalans will
repeat as La Liga champions either.
Just a day after their heroic triumph over Barcelona in the Champions League semi final and
voices of sympathy for Chelsea skipper John Terry can be heard. Fellow team mate Frank Lampard has
expressed his desire to let Chelsea captain John Terry have the honour to lift the trophy should
they overcome Bayern Munich in the May 19th final.
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has voiced his frustration at the manner in which Barcelona
forward Alexis Sanchez convinced the referee's assistant to issue a red car to Blues captain John
Terry at Camp Nou last night.
Terry was sent off in the 37th minute of Chelsea's 2-2 draw (a 3-2 win on aggregate) for kneeing
Sanchez when both players were off the ball.
TweetChelsea captain John Terry has apologized for his sending off against Barcelona after kneeing
Alexis Sanchez in the first half. Terry is now set to miss the final in Munich after being shown a
straight red-card in the 37th minute after he unashamedly kneed Barca striker Alexis Sanchez.
"Sanchez was darting in behind me at [.
Barcelona's season is crumbling before our eyes as they are out of the Champions League, after
drawing 2-2 at home to Chelsea today, and went out 3-2 on aggregate.
I am in San francisco for a conference so I searched out Mad Dog in the Fog, reportedly the best
soccer bar in the city to watch the game.
Chelsea shocked the experts by advancing the UEFA Champions League Final 3-2 on aggregate. It
was a great effort from the London side as they would were down 2-0 (2-1 on aggregate) late in the
first half and had their captain John Terry sent off.
The match started out a bit slowly but would gradually start shifting in Barcelona's favor.
An extremely resilient Chelsea side fought against all odds to defeat FC Barcelona 3-2 on
aggregate and progress to the UEFA Champions League Final in Munich on May 19.
The Blues, who carried over a 1-0 advantage to Camp Nou from their first leg home win, clawed
back from 2-0 down on the night to draw 2-2 with a very late equalizer.
Chelsea's Champions League dreams appeared to have unraveled completely after captain John Terry
was sent-off for this knee into the back of Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez. In a moment of madness, JT
stuck his knee into the Chilean in an off-the-ball incident. It was soft, but it was violent and it
was spotted by the linesman.
Barcelona got a taste of defeat for the first time in over 12 matches when they suffered a 1-0
defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night. A 47th minute Didier Drogba goal was enough to see
out a Barcelona side that failed to capitalise on the many opportunities they created.
Of course, the tie is far from over, however, the win does put pressure on Barcelona who have to
win by 2 goals or more and avoid a draw of any kind to make it to their 4th final in the 3
years.
Chelsea's Uruguayan target Edison Cavani has been offered a £3.7m per year salary by Juventus
should he choose to leave Napoli at the end of the season however, a transfer fee has not been
agreed. With Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis wanting €50m (£41.2m) or €60m (£49.3m)
for the 26 year old, it is hard to see Cavani joining Juventus.
Chelsea captain John Terry has rubbished suggestions that his teammates will struggle to hold
their own against Barcelona in the semifinals, insisting that the Blues' solid form in the
Champions League this season does not make them a desirable opponent for any team in the world.
Terry had to be replaced by Gary Cahill during last night's 2-1 (3-1 on aggregate) win over
Benfica at due to a rib injury and although the defender admits that the nature of his injury makes
casts some doubt on the exact timing of his availability, he has no doubts that the Blues are ready
for Barca.
Stuart Holden won't be making his comeback for Bolton this season.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle made that much clear in comments on the club's official website. Even
though six months -- the injury timetable given when cartilage damage in his knee was discovered --
since his last surgery have passed, the relegation-threatened club is not taking any chances and
rushing him back.
Lionel Messi is set to make Barcelona history yet again.
After some recent adjustments to the total goal-scoring tally, the 24-year-old striker is one
goal away from tying Cesar Rodriguez for Barcelona's all-time leading scorer. La Vanguardia
newspaper in Spain, in collaboration with Barcelona, revised Rodriguez's total tally down to 232
goals.
Who said that the Chelsea dressing room is run by the senior players? On the day of their match
against Napoli, captain John Terry was quoted as saying: "As for the senior players running this
football club, that's nonsense. That's just the perception from outside. Roman [Abramovich] and the
board make the decisions.

Chelsea's caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo has revealed the secret to winning all three
matches since Andre Villas-Boas was sacked after just seven months in charge. The former assistant
under Villas-Boas has sparked new life in an aging side that was showing its age a few weeks ago,
resulting in wins in the FA Cup, Premier League and, most recently, a 4-1 extra-time win over
Napoli in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie that allowed Chelsea to advance
on a 5-4 aggregate score.
Chelsea captain John Terry has rubbished reports that he along with other senior players have a
say in the way things are run at the club. This comes after reports emerged that some senior
Chelsea players were responsible for AVB's sacking earlier this month.
Terry who has not had the best of campaigns this season has seen his image suffer considerable
damage after racist allegations against Queens Park Rangers Defender Antoine Ferdinand
surfaced.
Chelsea captain John Terry has finally spoken out on the firing of Andre Villas-Boas on the
weekend, and surprisingly Terry has came out in support of his former manager.
"It's sad for André because, unfortunately, it falls on his head when I think the players will
hold their hands up and say clearly: ‘We've not been good enough and we have all made mistakes
together'.

So good, we actually thought it was a doctored image at first; here's deposed captain John Terry
joining the latest England squad (and X-Factor dreck-mongers JLS) at a charity bash in London last
night.
Can you spot him?

England is in danger of having no teams in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for
the first time since 1995-96 after Chelsea were defeated by Napoli 3-1 in the first leg of the
Round of 16.
Juan Mata's fortuitous goal midway through the first half was cancelled out by Ezequiel
Lavezzi's brace and Edinson Cavani's goal just before halftime.
The pressure is on Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas in the UEFA Champions League, not only for
him to try and salvage his own job security, but also to keep England's hopes at crowning a
European winner alive.
It appears that he'll be a bit shorthanded in the first stage of his quest to get the Blues to
the UCL quarterfinals, though.
Some say that you never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory. When Luis Suarez
refused to shake the hand of Patrice Evra at Old Trafford yesterday however, you sensed the
significance of the moment would shape the longevity of the memory. Relations between England's two
most most successful clubs - who have not exchanged a player since 1964 - continue to sour, both on
and off the pitch.
The Blues might be sitting pretty in position 6 in the football money league rich list but the
truth of the matter is that their financial situation is not too good. With a massive debt in
excess of over £1 billion, Chelsea could soon find itself in a very messy situation.
It is also now emerging that Chelsea paid £28 million to sign Andre Villas-Boas from Porto last
summer.
One of the disadvantages of working a paying job whilst trying to build a readership on your own
blog is that sometimes we get blindsided by events that need immediate reporting such as we saw
today in London as England manager Fabio Capello resigned his position immediately following a
meeting with FA Chairman David Bernstein.
Captain John Mensah puts Ghana ahead through his third international goal. Saber Khelifa
equalized after beating Samuel Inkoom to a lofted ball. The match headed to extra time and in the
110th minute, Abedi Pele's son, Andre Ayew scored the winner after Tunisia's goalie, Aymen
Mathlouthi coughed up Inkoom's cross right into his path.
Fabio Capello is furious at the English FA for firing his captain John Terry, and you have to
begin to wonder whether Capello will still be in charge of England when this summer's Euro 2012
rolls around.
Capello was interviewed by national Italian broadcaster Rai 1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday
afternoon, where he attended Chelsea's 3-3 draw with Manchester United, and he stated openly how
angry he was.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that England manager Fabio Capello is said to be furious over the
sacking today of his captain John Terry.
According to the report Capello fought for Terry to remain as England captain until the bitter
end and only accepted the FA's decision with extreme reluctance.
Chelsea and England captain John Terry's problems are not about to end any time soon after
fellow players and anti-racist campaigners called on Fabio Capello to exclude him from his squad
for the European championships.
These sentiments come after Wednesday's landmark ruling where the FA announced that Terry would
only face trial for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand until after the tournament.

Chelsea is looking for a better second half of the season in the Premiership, and it is hoping
the signing of an attacking midfielder will help them do that.
Chelsea is set to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Belgian club RC Genk on a five-year deal.
It's been a good week for racism in football. Luis Suarez has been banned by eight matches and
fined £40,000 for racially abusing Patrice Evra whilst Chelsea and England captain John Terry
faces a racially aggravated public order charge for allegedly abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand
in a match in October.
