A hat-trick. His first goals for England. The first hat-trick of his career. It was a precious
occasion. One that will go down in history. And that is some impact to make at 19.England warded of
the Croatian threat with a convincing 4 -1 win.Rooney showed his class at last.Beckham didn't get a
look in.
In the latest from The Special One (and friends) Jose and It go on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to

I am extremely bored to the point of pulling my hair out. Couldn't think of anything to write about
today. So in my search for stuff remotely concerning United, I came upon the latest edition of I'm
on Setanta Sports where Wayne Rooney interviews 'Cabbage Man' Capello. It's not their best episode,
but then, I [.
Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. One of those days where my feet didn't touch the ground (or
my fingers the keyboard!).
Of course there has only been one real football story the last couple of days. The Croatia v
England match tonight.
It makes me laugh really. Being a girl still fairly new to football I listen to as many
commentators as I can to improve my knowledge and understanding.
The masterminds from I'm On Setanta Sports are back with a one-on-one interview between Wayne
Rooney, like, and Fabio Capello. Enjoy part one of the interview. Part two will be released after
the Croatia against England game on Wednesday. If you're not sure, learn more about what a chip
butty is. If you're new here, you may want [.
If you've heard of that name already then you don't really need to read this column. If you haven't
heard of that name and you are a soccer then you do need to read this column. Brian Glanville is
the greatest sports journalist in the English-Speaking world. I have never read a better writer on
any sport then Brian's writing on soccer.
The London Times ran this article asking who was more responsible for England's victory against
Croatia - Fabio Capello or Theo Walcott. Its a bit like the old question of which came first, the
chicken or the egg. To me the answer is pretty simple and it doesn't take a Jenas or a genius to
figure out that the answer is Walcott.
It was a hectic weekend here in Erie, but one that I wouldn't mind living again. I posted early
last week that I'd be taking a brief leave of absence to get situated at college, which is what
I've been doing for the past few days.
Clearly I've missed a lot in the soccer world with the transfer deadline having come and gone and a
whole round of fixtures played.
England beat Croatia as Slaven Bilic's team hit the dirt as Walcott peppered them with some fine
marksmanship. Walcott walked off with three goals and a porn star in hand. But this is better news
for Arsenal as it needs Walcott to pull the trigger more often.
Capello's men forgot to hit the self destruct button as they entered the Maksimir Stadion.
Despite the addition of new "director of programming" Fabio Capello, The Special One
tries to carry on, business as usual. With his staff being rotated, though, a showdown between
Mourinho and Capello was always on the cards.
Who won? Stay tuned to find out.
The latest episode of I'm On Setanta Sports is back with program director Fabio Capello meddling
with the show, the return of Arsene "Voyeur," and Setanta Sports making fun of RTE's
Eamonn Dunphy. Be champions! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks

Mr. Capello, for reasons unknown as my Dad has pointed out, has included defenders Matty Upson and
Joleon Lescott for England's match against Andorra but ignored Johnny Woodgate and Ledley King.
Couple this with Beckham's inclusion, Michael Owen's exclusion and the addition of future England
legend Jimmy Bullard, we're rightly scratching our heads at what the Italian has in store for us.
Having just sat through England's pretty unconvincing performance against Andorra I can only
conclude that there is some mysterious law I am unaware of banning actually running with the ball,
as opposed to just kicking it and hoping.
I was surrounded by about 20 England fans at the pub where we watched the match and I would
describe the mood as subdued resignation.
We don't want Setanta So I've got to moan about something now. Fabio Capello...got it right. The
defence...nah, they were OK. Midfield was solid and had the right width. Wayne Rooney? Yeah, he'll
do, he dropped too deep again. Doesn't that boy listen? And Emile Heskey...well, you can moan about
anything with Emile Heskey.
England swept aside Croatia with a 4-1 win last night after a fantastic performance from Theo
Walcott. Walcott became the youngest ever England player to score a hat trick at the age of 19.
Capello said: "We played with confidence and no fear from the first minute," "The
players played like they ..
misali. 2010 Güney Afrika Eleme Grupları'nda Eriksson'un Meksika'sı iyi gidiyor.
Theodorus Walcottus Awesomus
Arsenal meets Blackburn this weekend, another team that believes in Josip Simunic style of
tackling. Here is hoping that Walcott gets the start after his barnstorming performance against
Croatia which should have boosted his confidence to stratospheric levels.
There is an ugly rumor flying around that Michael Owen is being targeted by Rafa. Apparently,
he's into the last year of his contract at Newcastle United and will not sign another, hoping to
escape the drama that currently surrounds the Toon. So the big question of course is would we want
him back?
Capello made some interesting moves with his call-ups the other day.
Some dude named Jimmy Bullard (left) is on the team, and another dude named Michael
Owen (right) might be done with international soccer forever.
The world's a crazy place.
Not only has Capello had an interesting run of call-ups, but have you heard about the Gandhi-like
dietary restrictions the English coach has been giving his players?
The players aren't allowed to eat until eight hours after a practice!
But the players are going Robin Hood on the evil regime; sneaking themselves some crisps chips and
candy behind coach's back.

When McClaren's England won 3-0 against Andorra many fans and pundits attacked the manager and team
for not winning against a poorer opposition, tonight Cappello's England only managed a 2-0
victory.
So does this mean that once again that England will struggle and even fail to qualify for a major
tournament?
Grupta İspanya Bosna-Hersek'i 1-0, Belçika ise Estonya'yı
3-2 ile geçti.
All still very dull and non-arsey.
Theo Walcott apparently played quite well for England against Andorra the other night, which is
good for the young man. Good for us too if it boosts his confidence and he says he's coming to
terms more with playing on the wing. Capello, like Arsene Wenger, is still urging patience due to
his relative youth and inexperience but it should be interesting to see how he fares against
Croatia, if he keeps his place that is.
Wayne Rooney has come under fire for the lack of goals he has been scoring for England. He insists
that his scoring record is not weighing on his mind as he looks forward to Wednesday's World Cup
qualifier in Croatia. Rooney has scored only five times for England in four years. "I've no
problem with it.
"Tell Mr Capello that he can manage Andorra and I will take charge of England. And I'll tell
you one thing. If that had happened, England would have won by considerably more goals than they
actually did.
Andorran coach Rodrigo fires the return verbal volley, via The Sun...
Joe Cole has said that England will adopt a defensive approach against Croatia on Wednesday in
their World Cup qualifier.
Cole says that a draw would be a good result.
"We're working on being strong and hard to break down and we have got the players
to do that.
Reasons to be cheerful I'm not totally sure how or why I believe England will comfortably beat
Croatia tonight, but I just do. I don't think anything can be taken from the Andorra game in terms
of form or analysis. The minnows, predictably, placed 11 plumbers behind the ball and simply put
off the inevitable until the second half.
Capello's England travel to Croatia this evening to face a side never beaten in a competitive game
at home but is more confident about a victory there than at Wembley. "When we play at home we
don't play with a lot of confidence, so I prefer to play away from home," ...
Slaven Bilic sporting his Mads Mikkelsen look
It is a telling sign that Joe Cole, England's best player has to fight for a starting spot in
the squad. What perversity is this? I know Capello is a bit of a martinet and Cole might have
ignored his instructions but his goals provided the victory against Andorra.
Why has Wembley suddenly become a nightmare venue for England? For years Wembley was a fortress.
The team played in front of flag waving fans in a serious show of patriotism. With the possible
exception of Euro 1996, England often let down the fans but still they supported them. Now, with
the humiliating failure to qualify for Euro 2008 some of the fans have turned on the players and
started to demand more from their well paid, over-hyped representatives on the pitch.
Sometimes we find unusual conduits for the truth. Buddhists for example have
their core doctorines channelled through a disavowed prince who constantly tried starving himself
to death. Hindus have an overweight man with four arms and an elephant's head. Black people have
Ice Cube.
So, I'm expecting Capello to be knighted before the week is out. The English sure love their
revenge.
If it's too good to be true, chances are it is.
I'm hoping and praying the English media won't get carried away with themselves, but I know without
even looking that they will. I actually almost feel bad for Theo Walcott; scoring a hat-trick in
Croatia in an amazing feat, but the hype he'll get and pressure he'll be under are going to be
absurd.

Croatia had never lost an international game at home prior to yesterday's qualifier against
England. The last time England had come to Maksimir Stadium, they were trounced 2-0 due to Steve
McClaren's tinkering with a new formation. Fabio Capello decided to employ a standard 4-4-2 against
Croatia yesterday and the only thing he tinkered with was [.
Theo Walcott has vowed he can cope with the pressure of being England's great new hope after
scoring an amazing hat-trick in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Croatia. Walcott took home the match
ball and asked all the England squad to sign it after opening his international account in stunning
style.

(SoccerLens) Another suggestion for cautious optimism in England. (Reuters Soccer Blogs) Slaven
Bilic's psychological masterstroke and Capello's countermove.
There's a sense of euphoria about the England team following the result against Croatia in Zagreb,
a much-needed and timely boost to our game. However, for me it's somewhat tarnished. Fabio
Capello's admission that the England players play better away from Wembley, away from their own
fans, is a sad indictment of the national game.
My lover has a kind heart.
Which is probably why he recently bought me "The Little Book of Football" and
accompanying DVD at Aldi for £2.99.
I won't go into great detail about the circumstances in which I read the book but lets just say I
do a page or two every morning.
Anyway, this morning I came across the following passage;
"In an era of so many talented individuals, it was a puzzle that the national side did not do
better"
The team - England
The era - late 1930s.
