With today's Copa del Rey wrapping League play in Europe, the focus will turn to the European
Championships. On this continent, it is World Cup Qualification that will hold our attention. The
weekend offers plenty of both as the following list attests! My favorite place to enjoy a game in
Springfield is Farmer's Gastropub but they will be closed Sunday-Monday for Memorial Day.
More than 14,000 tickets have been sold for the USA-China match at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. on May
27 (kickoff 7 p.m. ET) so if you haven't got your tickets yet, now might be a good time.
The home to the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer seats 18,500, so with a week to go until
the match, the crowd should make for a fantastic atmosphere as the U.

Simon scored the second and third Boston goals while Katie Schoepfer opened the account in the

Another over capacity crowd at Livestrong Sporting Park in the third game of the season. Time to
take a look at the attendance for the third home game throughout Kansas City's history.

Monday night's Portland Timbers-Phildelphia Union contest, played on national TV before a wild

The 2012 J. League first division kicks off on March 10.
The fixture list has conjured a number of notable clashes, as Gamba Osaka welcome big-spending
neighbours Vissel Kobe to Banpaku, Nagoya Grampus host Tokai rivals Shimizu S-Pulse at Toyota
Stadium and Omiya Ardija entertain local rivals FC Tokyo at Omiya Park.
Npower League One promotion hopefuls Stevenage Football Club hosted third place EPL side Tottenham
Hotspur in the fifth round of the English FA Cup this past weekend in front of a capacity crowd of
just over 7,000 at Broadhall Way. Stevenage was led by a familiar face to MLS fans.
Only a few weeks ago, Stevenage announced the arrival of their new manager Gary Smith, formerly of
Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids, who has led an impressive opening few weeks in charge
already seeing his new club to two wins and a draw in the league and now this Sunday's impressive
FA Cup draw against Tottenham.

With every passing year, the format for the MLS All-Star Game seems to continue to be a point of
contention among fans and media, but even with that, the 2012 version won't be providing any
drastic changes.
While officially awarding this year's game to Philadelphia, the league announced that it will
maintain its unique MLS vs.

The United States will host Brazil in a friendly on May 30 or 31, the Brazilian federation (CBF)
announced on its website on Thursday.
LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (Dec. 4, 2011) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team won the Nike

The U.S. Under-17s ouclassed, outmaneuvered and out-flaired Brazil on the day, winning the Nike

The U.S. Under-17 team took on Brazil in Lakewood Ranch, FL, and never looked outclassed in the
slightest, defeating Brazil 3-1. Having drawn 2-2 with France midweek and beaten Turkey 2-1 on
Friday, they won the Nike International Friendlies trophy with three first half goals and an
impressive second-half defense.
A cynic might note that a genuine, actual, 27,000 capacity crowd for Sunday's Galaxy-Houston
Dynamo MLS Cup final is why the Home Depot Center and club have shifted into "heavy traffic and
congested streets are anticipated around the stadium for this event" so please-arrive-early
mode.

Unwatchable? Don't look now, but Thierry Henry and the Red Bulls are one game away from
reaching the Western Conference final - if they can become the first MLS team to beat the Galaxy at

I haven't yet heard whether those extra 5,000 tickets the Galaxy put on sale for tonight's
Western Conference semifinal against New York have sold out, but a capacity crowd must be all but
certain because after stirring the pot earlier in the week, players and coaches on both sides
Wednesday downplayed the sniping that occurred earlier in the week.

Triple World Champion and Worl record holder Usain Bolt lost his World 100m crown last

HARRISON, N.J. -- Major League Soccer's commitment to righting the wrong that was last year's
All-Star Game result against Manchester United went unfulfilled.
Anderson and game MVP Park Ji-Sung scored in the first half, and Dimitar Berbatov added one
early in the second half to essentially seal the deal, as Manchester United topped the MLS
All-Stars for the second straight year, winning, 4-0, Wednesday night in front of a capacity crowd
of 26,760 at Red Bull Arena.

Highs and lows came at a gut-wrenching pace, but an emotional roller coaster doesn't even begin

PASADENA, Calif-- Down 2-0 to the United States has been a common downfall for
previous editions of the Mexican National Team.
However, this time Mexico was able to storm back scoring four unanswered goals and earning their
second Gold Cup victory in front of a capacity crowd at the Rose Bowl.
PASADENA, Calif- It was a dream start for the United States in the Gold Cup Final, but it was
one that quickly turned into a nightmare as Mexico battled back to win their second consecutive
Gold Cup, 4-2 in front of a capacity crowd of 93,420 at the Rose Bowl.
The United States struck for two early goals in the first 25 minutes of play, but Mexico led by
attacker Giovani Dos Santos struck back for four unanswered goals to give the Mexicans the CONCACAF

success, at least off the field with an over capacity crowd of 19925.
In front of an over-capacity crowd at LIVESTRONG Park in Kansas City the United States squeaked
by Guadeloupe 1-0 last night behind a wonder goal from Jozy Altidore. That is the good news. The
bad news, its hard to get excited about this win and the performance of the Yanks thus far in the
tournament.
Sporting KC's sparkling new stadium was more than they could have hoped for, the game, however,
didn't go exactly as planned. Sporting KC and the Chicago Fire played to a 0-0 draw with missed

The crowd was standing and cheering long before the match started and they stayed loud
throughout.

On the last day of the season and front of a capacity crowd at Loftus Road, Queens Park Rangers
played their last Championship match of the season against Leeds United. The match was covered by
the cameras of the BBC, who had already, for the last episiode of "The Football League Show" of the
season, been hanging around the main entrance to the ground on South Africa Road (one of the more
confusing aspects of the club's idiosyncratic ground) as the FA's decision that the club were not
to be deducted any points over the Faurlin affair was announced, a decision made just in time to
leave those that had assembled there in paryoxyms of delight at the club's return to the Premier
League after an absence of fifteen years.
Club Tijuana won passage to the top division in Mexican football after defeating Irapuato 2-1 at

The LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls match lived up to its top billing as both teams put on an
entertaining display with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
Thierry Henry gave the Red Bulls the lead just four minutes into the match before Landon Donovan
equalized for the Galaxy in the 41st minute of play.
While one Real contending for their regional Champions League suffered a major setback
at home yesterday, the other saw their dream end completely. Real Salt Lake are not whining about
their defeat in the same way as their Spanish inspiration from Madrid are busy doing, but they
still have a bitter pill to swallow after a 1-0 defeat at home to Monterrey resulted in a 3-2
defeat on aggregate in the Concacaf Champions League final and an end to their 37 game unbeaten
streak at home.
A sell out crowd. A long standing local rivalry. The final derby of a long, tense season.
To the winner, perhaps, the championship.
