So are the New York Cosmos not a lock anymore to become the 20th Major League Soccer team? Eh,
sorta.
MLS commissioner Don Garber said on Tuesday that the league is still talking with the Cosmos and
other ownership groups as well for a 20th team in New York. Garber said adding a second
team in New York remained a priority but he played down the much-hyped Cosmos.
Remember Alex, protect the left side
13th of September 2011 seemed like such a long ago now. Both Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund were
really struggling at that time. A little over 2 months since both teams played out a 1-1 draw at
Signal Iduna Park and pretty much everything happened in between these 2 games.
Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio believes midfielder Lucas Leiva has matured into a top-class
midfielder.
Lucas joined Liverpool in 2007 but a series of below-par appearances in his first two seasons did
little to convince the Anfield faithful.
However, the 24-year-old has started 68 games for Liverpool in the subsequent two seasons, and he
was named Liverpool's best player during the 2010-11 Premiership season by members of the club's
official website, taking 40 per cent of all votes.
Thanks for the 15 years, Arsene.
One particular story dominates the news today and that is none other than Arsene Wenger reaching
his 15th year in charge of Arsenal Football Club. That is quite some achievement for someone the
general questioned as "Arsene who?" when he first took over. During that period, he has brought us
unprecedented success both on and off the pitch.

Shortly after Stan Collymore joined Liverpool, for a then-record £8.5m in 1995, he gave an
interview in which he observed that most companies, if they spent millions on a new piece of
equipment, would have had a plan as to how they were going to use it. Liverpool, Collymore said,
had bought him without realizing his style of play and theirs were incompatible.
Failing to cut the gap with Premier League current leader, Manchester United, after only picking
up a draw last weekend, Arsenal have the chance to do it again this Wednesday as they travel to
White Hart Lane and face city rival, Tottenham Hotspurs.
Getting a win is definitely a must for the Gunners if they are still serious in catching United
at the top, not only that, getting the three point in a big game is something that Arsenal's Robin
Van Persie believe could help his team grow even more.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says he expects Liverpool to challenge for the Premier
League title next season under Kenny Dalglish.
Ferguson believes that with Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all now capable of winning the
title it will make it even tougher next season to be challenging for top honours.
Stop me if you've heard this one before but it seems that Spurs have defensive problems ahead of
the away leg against Hearts on Thursday night and the start of our premiership season.
William Gallas is struggling with the injury that kept him out of Tottenham's entire pre-season
campaign while club captain Ledley King is approaching what for him is match fitness and has an
outside chance of making it for the game with Manchester United.
One thing that's become obvious in the early days of the 2011-12 season is that whoever leaves
from our remaining front three, it won't be Jermain Defoe.
Before the season began in anger, Harry Redknapp said that he was expecting a big season from
the player before declaring this week that he was ‘looking sharp'.
Last week, Sir Alex Ferguson singled out Ryan Tunnicliffe, Paul Pogba and Will Keane as
youngsters at United who had the potential to make it in the first team.
Paul Scholes, who has been working with our youngsters in his new coaching role, has supported
the manager's assessment, as well as praising Larnell Cole, who made his début against Leeds in
the League Cup last week.
Luis Suarez is confident that, under the stewardship of Kenny Dalglish, Liverpool can add some
silverware to the Anfield trophy cabinet this season.
The Reds are without a notable trophy since the 2006 FA Cup final triumph over West Ham - and five
years represents an unaccustomed period of time devoid of glory for a club with such a rich
history.
Any midfield that has Terry Antonis, Nicky Carle, Brett Emerton and Karol Kisel in it's line-up is
going to entertain.
Terry Antonis is all energy and all skill. And can only get better. His performances this season
have been outstanding and Sydney FC obviously realise this kids abilities.
