todo este mes, el mes de la prevención y detección del Cáncer de Mama, en el cual se estarán

Kori Quinn, our friend who has been battling cancer for over a year, was visited recently by
Wizards defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi. According to Kori's mom, Matt and Graham
were big celebrities with Kori and her teammates. Check out the entire photo gallery.
Late Tuesday word emerged from Haiti of a devastating earthquake in a place that can least
afford such a challenge. Red Bull New York midfielder Seth Stammler once tagged along on a trip to
Haiti with then-teammate Jozy Altidore. Stammler was so disturbed at the impoverished conditions
there he pledged to do something about it.
Nice idea I saw via the England Team wesbite, run by the charity Keep Your On The Ball, who
raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.
The odea is that age old one you have to pick your all time England XI. But there are a couple
of caveats. First off it has to be someone who represented England at the World Cup (seemingly
since 1966, so erm not really All Time then), and second if you want to win Gordon Banks shirt, you
have to pick the same starting XI as Terry Venables, who has picked a special secret XI (revealing
only Banks in goal).

Former West Ham defender Calum Davenport has been cleared of actual bodily harm
amidst claims that he attempted to both head-butt, bite and throttle his sister during a
drunken row in which he also allegedly called her a 'form of cancer' and a 'whore' after finding
that she was pregnant again.
At half-time at the Manchester United Liverpool game on Sunday, Aon (United's new shirt
sponsors) will be hosting a charity event on the pitch.
Five children from the Manchester United Soccer Schools will each take one shot at a goal from a
place on the pitch between the penalty spot and the six-yard box (there will be a hole in the "o"
in an Aon banner at the East stand goal for them to shoot through).
Jeff Diveronica has a nice rundown on the potential Women's Professional Soccer expansion team
in Upstate New York that might start WPS play in 2011. Diveronica says that the Buffalo Flash has
agreed to an expansion fee and is in the due diligence phase of working out an agreement to make
the jump from W-League to WPS.
"Stranger danger!" seems appropriate.
More photos of Diego being an uber creep with this unidentified cancer-stricken Chinese child
after the jump, courtesy of the photo gallery format and excellent random splicing.
Only Diego.

Since Dave Dir left FC Dallas he's been running ASG Futbol Club and working as a commentator on FC
Dallas broadcasts. Recently Coach Dir and ASG has taken on a new cause, a fundraising effort to
help assist one of his players, 12 year old Christian Greaf. Christian joined AGS when his family
moved here from Colorado.
This is the face of Choi Dong Soo (Persisam) after he was set upon by Persiwa players and fans
during the recent Indonesia Super League game in Wamena.
Not too clear I know but perhaps that's as well. One Persisam player I spoke to after the game said
he was scared while it was all kicking off.
Thomas Vermaelen is out for three weeks, three bloody weeks well to me that says we won't see
him until the pre season games now. Dreadful for us, but with him not going off to the World Cup,
whatever injury he has sustained will heal properly, he won't be rushed back will he....
His injury though just about sums up our season doesn't it?
Before the season started we found ourselves in the unfortunate position of having to say goodbye
to one of our greatest managers and one of the games all time greats, Sir Bobby Robson, who sadly
lost his battle with Cancer back in July. The entire football world paid tribute to the man that
had such an [.
Today, the LIVESTRONG Army of Kansas City came out to our training session and co-hosted a clinic
for children affected by cancer with some of our players and coaches. See the full report (video)

Finally, after almost two years to the day, Manchester City have washed their hands of the great
lame duck – Robinho.
It's been a great mystery to the Premier League as to why the £32.5 million man failed to
perform to his potential at Eastlands. While some might say it was the culture or the squad of
City, it must be mentioned that Robinho was one of the first (and the most expensive) transfers to
come in to the Blue Revolution after Sheikh Mansour's takeover in 2008.
The Newcastle United club have announced this morning that Jackie Sinclair, who played for

Is this team broken? The season is over, and now the question is: Do we keep the spine of this
team, and fill in the fleshy bits, or is the cancer bone-deep; must we purge the roster and begin
again? Because this season is over, and the next will be on us quickly.
The standings are bleak: We're one point ahead of Chivas USA, who are the only team between us
and DC United.
Just got this email from the Friends of Joe Vide (or more specifically from his lady?), thought I'd
pass it on:Joey and I just met with his doctor to find out the results from his PET scan yesterday.
We got some good news and some not so great news. The good news is the cancer mass near his
pancreas is completely gone.

to live.. Dad [.

A triffic little report on Millwall's relegation scrap in the George Graham era (early 1980s).
The incomparable Danny Baker is your guide:
We learned today that Danny, the piratical genius of the airwaves, is battling cancer. This
sucks, as he is one of the few broadcasters who know anything about football and why it really
matters.
On November 19th, we learned that Rochester Rhinos and NASL star Mike Stojanovic passed away from
cancer at the age of 63. Here is Michael Lewis's interview with Stojanovic from August. Our
sympathies go out to Stojanovic's family, friends, and fans. By Michael Lewis - Rochester, NY (Aug
25, 2010) US Soccer Players -- Looking at his frame today, it might difficult to imagine this
63-year-old man was one of the great players in American.
