Springfield Catholic vs Jeff City Helias at Capital City Tourney

The Capital City Invitational kicked off this morning following Friday's cancellations. All of the teams played their morning games and the first two afternoon games were completed although as can be seen in this photo by Amy Schepers, the afternoon games were played in driving rain and were called after 60 minutes and the later games were canceled.

Tournament season in Southwest Missouri opens with the newest event, the Founder's Cup.

Games will be played by teams competing in the U9-U14 Boys age range as well as U11-U14 Girls as well as High School Girls.

The tournament will include the first games to be played on the new Astroturf surface on the soon to be christened Greenwood Stadium Field at the Cooper Soccer Complex.

So the heavy snow has ruined the weekend for most football fans – and it may get worse. All the cancellations have distorted the Premier League table to such an extent that should Manchester City...
