FourFourTwo are hyping up "our Kofi" Danning as he aims to take it to the other Youth
Teams in the National Youth League.
Sydney FC's Kofi Danning (right) and Newcastle Jets, Jason Naidovski recently appeared on Nearpost
Radio.
The former Majura junior club will be back to earth with a bang when he takes on his Canberra
mates, the ACT Youth Rockets, in Sydney this arvo.
Canberra United are expected to announce their first round of signings on Friday.
FFA Release below
ADELAIDE UNITED ANNOUNCES MATILDA AS CAPTAIN FOR WESTFIELD W-LEAGUE
Adelaide United FC has secured former Matildas representative Di Alagich as the club's Women's
League Captain in a major coup for the women's game in South Australia ahead of the inaugural
Westfield W-League.
The camera never lies, well this one did. Apologies for the shot but Grace Gill pictured here with
Christine Ng and Doug Gibbs in the background is looking a little bit concerned about the initial
question from the Awesome Foursome on this weeks Nearpost Radio show.
But Grace soon had us running round in circles as the talented defender swotted us away like flies.
Nationally:
Dylan Macallister, Lawrie McKinna talk us through the Magnificent Mariners.
Young Matildas Coach Alen Stajic reviews the recent camp and looks ahead.
We review the A-League Round 3, talks Socceroos v Holland and have dedication and quiz questions
and all the news.
Locally:
Extended interview with Canberra United W-League Coach Robbie Hooker talks about his new role.
Belconnen United thrashed Canberra FC 4-1 in the ACT men's Grand Final today and Belwest Foxes beat
hot favourites Weston Creek 1-0 in the Women's final.
Belconnen United hadn't beaten Canberra FC in living memory or so it seemed despite these two side
being the best clubs for a number of years in the local game.
Nationally we talk to Tom Sermanni on the upcoming W-League, and AIS Under 20 Coach Jan Versleijen
on his hunt for overseas players.
Locally Russ Gibbs, Chris Gottaas and Aaron Walker talk to Canberra United signing Grace Gill and
Russ and Aaron preview the Rockets game with Sydney FC Youth on Friday.
Southern Cross FC are bidding to be an A-League team in 2010. Same as Canberra. And Les Murray from
SBS is an Ambassador for the bid.
Biased? Hardly...couldn't be more Canberra friendly....
SBS reported today on Les' show that Les Murray was with the bid team when they presented to the
FFA last week.
Great to hear Canberra United announce their first signings this morning. I listened to Robbie
Hooker on ABC radio this morning announced the players. And Tim Gavel got a few things wrong:)
Firstly the signings:
Caitlin Munoz, Amy Chapman. Lydia Williams and Grace Gill are all Matildas and local players who
have signed up.
The FFA handed, on a plate, the 11th spot in the A-League to a Melbourne consortium.
Hand in your plan and you get the gig. If you're from Melbourne.
No measuring alternative plans, we want Melbourne and probably Sydney and that's it.
The rest of you, Tassie, Canberra and Wollongong can well.
A young Canberra team took on Sydney FC in a Youth League game yesterday. I know we're not in the
league...yet. But take a look at the names below....plus how quick is Kofi Danning?
How many of these lads could get a paid gig in a Canberra A-League Youth side in 2010if we get an
A-League side?
You would think if you play Premier League/ Reserve/Pathway football and ACTAS, Capital Football
Academy that you are very into your football and the development of the game and opportunities of
the game in Canberra.
Training and playing what 3 or 4 nights a week. That's commitment isn't it?
Melbourne's Brazilian Ney Fabiano is out for nine weeks after being found guilty of spitting in the
game last week.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkT6xyAUo-0 Did he spit? Well treefellas's met last night including
Canberra's own Danny Moulis to adjudicate. We assume they got it right. but the Fox video seems
inconclusive.
Having attended last nights Canberra A-League committee meeting I can tell you things are moving
along at an impressive rate.
I can also tell you we are in the fight of our lives and, I believe, only the people of Canberra
can secure this team.
Melbourne hae been handed a second spot for 2010.
Another day another article on Canberra's Kaz Patafta. This time it's 442 discussing what Kaz needs
to do.
Kaz, of course is well known and respected throughout Canberra fooball. He Captained the Under 17's
at the World Cup a few years ago and was outstanding and a joy to watch.
Matildas are in Camp from Thursday this week at the AIS. Training sessions are open for anyone to
observe.
And expect the W-League fixtures to be announced this week, on Friday. Canberra United will be away
first game if my tea leaves are correct...and probably even if they aren't. With their first home
game pencilled in for the first weekend in November.
Capital Punishment the Canberra A-League Supporters Group are aiming to make their first outing and
flying the flag at a Sydney FC game.
You can join here. There will be family buses, club buses and one for the lads I'm told.
Adelaide United fans celebrate last nights historic win. But how many people will turn-up for the
Semi Final, they're already talking about switching venues to cope with the crowd...
And whilst Australia and particularly Canberra has been slow to grasp the opportunities that Asia
can provide to football, to the city and the region; our own A-League side would benefit the
city/region like no other sport.
Sydney and Melbourne. The FFA research show that two teams in the A-League from these cities would
be great.
But after the weekend's Sydney sporting crowds Canberra hopes must have risen a further notch
Everyone knows the AFL has the most money and least international expenses of any sport in
Australia.
Canberra United. It feels good, doesn't it, to have a team in Canberra finally.
Ivan Slavich is on one of the supporters family buses to Sydney to show support for a Canberra
A-League team. Why not get your club to have your own football singing bus. I'm sure there'll be a
Tuggeranong United bus.
Well it's not the AFL Club's, Adelaide Crows or Port Adelaide. They might have been going 150 years
but who's heard of them outside Melbourne:)
Is there even a Rugby League or Union side from Adelaide?
Adelaide United a club just a few years old, already well known across Pohang, Korea, Changchun,
China and Kashima, Japan.
Anthony Hatton is organising the Canberra A-League fans trip to Sydney v Perth on December the
21st.
T-Shirts, match tickets, travel to and from, Anthony's organised the lot for $85.
Within 30 minutes he's filled a 50 seater bus and got two potential sponsors!!!
How many other clubs could boast such support two years out for a team that doesn't exist.
No fixtures announced for the W-League yet. And apparently they won't be out until October.
The FFA ARE going to release the fixtures before the season starts although there
has been some debate about this.
Some members of the FFA want to release the fixtures after the first game.
Foundation Memberships moved past 700 this week. And SBS are expected to show a piece on the
Canberra A-League Bid on Sunday from 5pm.

Canberra FC keeper Nathan Denham is the latest local player to sign-up. Who knows he may get a gig
as the keeper.
Matildas are in Camp in Canberra from Tuesday, Thursday the Promising Matildas v China U20, AIS
Canberra, 4.00pm AEST also on Sat same time same teams, and Young Matildas in Camp from Thursday.
Across Australia that uniquely Australian exercise of "finals football" is on.
At Club level across Canberra it's no different. Men and Women's Grand Finals take place next week,
in it must be said, the shortest football season in the World out side maybe Siberia.
Focus usually is on the Premier League's but I bumped into a couple of 5th Graders this week from
the ANU FC (Australian National University).
Canberrans are heading to Sydney FC for a once in a lifetime trip. Join and read about the trip
here
And wear your A-League4 Canberra T-shirts to the first Televised Women's game on the ABC and make
some noise for the cause and Canberra United of course.
And there is planning a foot for a night with.
Okay I'm only joking and that's the problem.
Queensland announced a 5 games in 5 years deal yesterday. Adelaide are complaining that their city
is missing out.(see below)
But what about Canberra with a heap of Asian Cup Qualifiers coming our way surely Canberra could
bid for a game every two or four years.
Canberra United FC will announce their first signings tomorrow at Capital Football's ActewAGL
Junior League Presentation Day, at 11:00am. So go along and find out who is in the team, take a few

those at the game.
Canberra Football Weekend Radio Show. 3-5pm planned to start in late October.
They need football hosts/trained operators. 2XX will train you on our brand new studios.

local football and junior football and futsal.
The Herald Sun is reporting PriceWaterhouseCoopers are doing an intensive audit for the Australia's
2018 World Cup bid. Hey aren't they the guys doing the Canberra A-League bid:)
And the FFA/Fed Govt want every State Govt has to be on board by Xmas. Aren't the ACT Govt already
supporting the Canberra bid.
Over 700 fully paid up Foundation Members in Canberra v just 500 signed up
supporters (no paid component!) to the South Coast FC bid, who is must be said have been going a
lot longer...which bid would you say is progressing better?
Sydney drew 0-0 with a rejuvenated Newscastle Jets in Newcastle. Pity the same couldn't be said
about the Ref. Million dollar Aloisi disappoints, Kossie gets it wrong and Van Egmond outsmarts us
all.
And still no place for Canberra's Patafta..not even on the bench!
Mitchell Prentice came on as a sub late on, returning from suspension, and got sent-off.
