Paul Lambert has become Aston Villa's fourth manager in two years after walking out on Norwich
City.
A Villa club statement read simply:
"The Board of Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Paul Lambert has been appointed Villa
manager."
Norwich prohibited Lambert from talking to Villa earlier this week and refused his resignation
in light of not being allowed to discuss a move to Villa.

It's all a bit erroneous as we speak, but there are reports being bandied around this morning
that Paul Lambert has resigned as Norwich manager (though the papers are still framing the word
'quits' in inverted commas for the time being) in order to hold talks with Aston Villa about
squeezing himself into their vacant managerial position.

Barcelona here I come!
Norwich City have enjoyed a superb first season back in the top tier, thanks in part to the
goalscoring heroics of their player of the year Grant Holt, a player who not so long ago was plying
his trade in League Two.

Norwich City 2-0 Aston Villa Premier League 20th May 2012
The Canaries finished off a fine first season back in the big time by beating the perennially
dismal Aston Villa 2-0 at Carrow Road.
One of the surprise stars of the season, Grant Holt, netted the opener on eight minutes before
Simeon Jackson doubled the home side's advantage midway through the first-half.
Wojciech Szczesny is struggling to be fit for Arsenal's vital Premier League encounter with West
Brom on Sunday. Reports suggest the Polish keeper has a back problem and a knee injury and faces a
race against time to be in shape for the crucial game at the Hawthorns.
Arsenal go in to the game with their destiny in their own hands as far as finishing third and
qualifying for the Champions League is concerned.
1. This isn't Italy — Despite everything that Roberto Mancini has said over the last two weeks,
Premier League teams very rarely have "nothing to play for". Take Norwich City. Spiraling towards
end-of-season malaise, the Canaries arrived at the...

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that the strong criticism unleashed at youngster Aaron
Ramsey in recent weeks will only make the midfielder emerge as a stronger player.
Wenger, who signed Ramsey from Cardiff City in 2008, has helped the Welshman gradually developed
into one of the regulars in the Gunners side but despite the player's tremendous promise, certain
sections of the club's supporters have lost patience with the 21-year old.

words and hence this post will be a pictorial representation of the week that was, so here it

Arsenal's grip on their Champions League spot suddenly became incredibly tentative after coming
back from 2-0 down to 3-2 up, only for Steve Morison to nab a deserved equaliser for Norwich in the
last five minutes.
Yossi Benayoun opened the scoring after just 65 seconds with a slinky little number but Arsenal
found themselves 2-1 down at the break after Wojciech Szczesny wafted Wes Hoolahan's tame effort
over his line and was then left stranded as Grant Holt ballooned the Canaries ahead with a
heavily-deflected shot from the edge of the area following a quicksilver counter-attack.
Norwich City battled to a 3-3 draw against Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, earlier today, to put clear
daylight between themselves and the relegation battle, and inflict a blow to the Gunners' Champions
League prospects for the 2012/13 campaign. The result was Arsenal's fourth without a win in as many
games.
A late goal from Steve Morison helped Norwich secure a hard-fought 3-3 draw away to Arsenal,
condemning the hosts to two costly dropped points in Arsene Wenger's 900th match in charge.
Yossi Benayoun opened the scoring in the second minute to celebrate his 32nd birthday in style
but 10 minutes later, Wes Hoolahan punished Wojciech Szczesny's sloppiness to equalize for the
Canaries.
Having lived in Norfolk for almost forty years, if I have a second club then I suppose it must
be The Canaries. That said, there is no doubt as to where my loyalties lie today,
whole-heartedly with The Gunners.
A quick glance at the Premiership table is all it takes to indicate just how important today's
game against Norwich City is.
Two games to go. Two wins needed. Fate in own hands. Pressure on. Will the Gunners fire or
implode?
Taking it step by step, all the focus at the moment has to be on Norwich. The canaries might not
have much to play for, and perhaps that is affecting their form they're coming into this game on
the back of three successive defeats in which they've conceded 11 and scored 1, but anything less
than the best from Arsenal will not do.
Kuyt in action last year against Norwich...Liverpool face the
Canaries on Saturday as they look to end April on a high. Norwich have lost their last two league
games but they have been a breath of fresh air since they were promoted from the Championship last
year.
Injuries for Liverpool mean they are without Charlie Adam but captain Steven Gerrard was back in
training and is expected to be available for Saturday's game.
Liverpool travel to Carrow road for the first time in seven years to face Paul Lambert's Norwich
team in the Premier League since 1995.
Liverpool were 2-1 winners on that day, 3rd January and the two sides have only met once since then
with the Canaries gaining a point at Anfield in a 1-1 draw back in October.

Blackburn Rovers 2-0 Norwich City Premier League 21st April 2012
What a topsy-turvy season it's been for Blackburn. Admittedly, more turvy than topsy (if that
makes any kind of sense), Rovers got back to winning ways against Norwich on Saturday afternoon
after securing a deserved 2-0 win which keeps them well in the race for survival.
One of the most inspiring stories in the 2011-12 Premier League season has been the incredible
success of Norwich City in their return to the Premier League. Now, the Canaries are already

Following United's shock defeat to Wigan on Wednesday night, City coach Roberto Mancini has said
that he will include controversial striker Mario Balotelli will feature in the Premier League
decider against United at the Etihad Stadium later on this month.
Mancini who had earlier stated that he would not play the forward again seems to have had a
change of heart arising from Wednesday's loss.

Norwich City Everton Premier League 7th April 2012
He may not be the most sophisticated of strikers, but chunky hitman Grant Holt is certainly
making a name for himself in his first season in the top tier.
Norwich and Everton shared the spoils at Carrow Road, with Everton striker Nikica grabbing a
brace, one a back-heel. Jonny Howson scored his first ever goal for the Canaries with veteran Grant
Holt grabbing his 13th goal of the season.
Grant Holt has been involved in pretty much everything that has gone right for Norwich over the
last three years.
Since joining in the summer of 2009, even those looking at top casinos online will be interested
to note that Holt has gone on to score 67 goals for the Canaries. When Holt helped Norwich win the
League One title in the 09/10 season, many doubted whether he would be able to make the step up to
Championship.
I have been conspicuous by my absence on here of late so I thought it was time I pulled my
finger out and tried to contribute something. In keeping with my normal modus operandi here's five
random points of interest from the game for you to mull over.
1. Winning games can overcome all sorts of concerns and doubts about a team.

Norwich City Wolverhampton Wanderers Premier League 24th March 2012
He may not look like an in-form Premier League hitman, but chunky hitman Grant Holt continues to
blossom at the highest level in the land.
Venue: The Hawthorns, West Bromwich. Date: Sunday, 25th March, 2012. Kick-Off: 4pm (Sky TV).
Referee: Chris Foy (Scouser). Well, it's another battle of the birds this week. With the Canaries
cruelly crushed by the Magpies last week, this week we find ourselves trying to throttle the
"Throstles" of West Bromwich in their own Hawthorns nest.
Manchester United have replaced Manchester City at the top of the Premier League for the first
time since October.
At one point this season, City had a seven-point lead over their Manchester rivals. But lead has
vanished, and City now trail the champions by a point with 10 games to go.

Sir Alex Ferguson hailed the resilience of his Manchester United team after admitting they had been
second best to Norwich for large parts of their 2-1 victory at Carrow Road, where Ryan Giggs netted
a stoppage-time winner on his 900th appearance.
After falling behind to a close-range header from Paul Scholes on seven minutes, the Canaries
rallied and forced David de Gea into a string of fine saves.
This past two weeks have been pretty meh if you are a United fan. Knocked out of the FA Cup and
Champions League, we had nothing to look forward to over the last weekend, and nothing to really
bother about over the past two mid-weeks. We lost at home to Ajax, which in itself is a pretty fair
summation of how we have been in Europe at home this season piss poor.
Pulling out a victory in a rather difficult moment has always becomes one of Manchester United's
trade mark and their three points against Norwich City on the weekend once again showed that
tradition remain attached.
The difficult victory was even admitted by their tactician, Sir Alex Ferguson, who believed that
his team were actually second best for the most part of the game but simply did what necessary to
grab the win.

Norwich City 2-0 Bolton Wanderers Premier League 4th February 2012
An injury-ravaged Norwich fought their away to their fifth home league win of the season on
Saturday, a victory which condemned the visiting Trotters to another spell in the relegation
zone.
When asked about possible transfers before tomorrow's deadline day, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp
was typically vague,
"I can't see an awful lot happening," Harry said.
"I will probably watch a game on Sunday but not with a real eye on anyone, although I'm not
going to tell you which match.
Norwich City have completed the signing of Jonny Howson from Leeds United. A fee was agreed last
week, but the Canaries have now confirmed the transfer after the midfielder completed his medical
at Carrow Road.
Those who assess in play betting strategy note how the signing is one of many Norwich have made
from outside of the Premier League as they build a strong squad to continue the success Paul
Lambert has already brought to the club.
