Corinthians booked their place in next year's Libertadores after beating Internacional with an
aggregate score of 4-2 to win the Copa do Brasil.
2-0 up from the first leg in São Paulo, Corinthians silenced a packed estádio Beira-Rio with
first-half goals from Jorge Henrique, and a stunner from Brazil leftback, André Santos.

Vanderlei Luxemburgo has made a shock exit from Palmeiras. On Friday, the coach said he was
annoyed by the way he had been kept out of the loop over the transfer of Keirrison to Barcelona and
added that if the deal fell through, he wouldn't want the player back whilst he was in charge.
Palmeiras acted swiftly and shortly after, the coach announced his departure from the club on
Twitter in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Dentinho - not just a pretty face
According to Dentinho's agent, Ferhat Ciftci, the forward has his sights set on a move to
England. "He wants to play in the Premier League," Ciftci said. "It doesn't make a difference if it
is Arsenal or Manchester United".

Keirrison goes through the motions
Long-time Liverpool target, Keirrison, appears to be on his way to Barcelona – at least
according to his agent, Marcos Malaquias.
Still only 20, the forward has become Brazil's top scorer over the past two years.
Keirrison struck 41 times in all competitions in 2008.

I got a pleasant surprise on Saturday when I was invited to watch the Campeonato Paulista at a
small Brazilian restaurant, Rio 40 on St. Claire in Toronto this Sunday. The Campeonato Paulista is
a state-wide tournament for Sao Paulo, and the final is played on the same day as the Campeonato
Carioca, Rio's similar tournament.

the driving seat in the finals of the Campeonato Paulista.
Santos had the bulk of the opportunities in front of around 17,000 of their own fans but failed
to capitalize and paid the price against a side which has specialized in hitting teams on the

Itália. Three players were red-carded - including the brainless Diego Souza who nearly caused a
riot after booting Santos' Domingos. The Palmeiras number seven got into a harmless jostle with

For so long on Sunday it looked as if Portuguesa had done enough against Santo André to earn a
place in the knock out phase of the Campeonato Paulista. Santos were struggling away to Ponte Preta
until Kléber Pereira (who else) popped up with three goals to send his side into the next
