Juventus v Bayern Munich
Uefa Champions League
Tuesday, 8 December 2009
Stadio Olimpico
Kickoff: 20:45 CET
Juventus go into the final Champions League group A game knowing that a single point will see
them through to the next round. Bayern Munich need a win, and have dropped points against Juventus
at home and with a team struggling with injuries and unhappy players, it seems likely that the
German giants will be lining up in the Europa League in the second half of this season's European
campaign.

Third placed Arsenal go into this match just two points behind second placed Manchester City,
and with a game in hand. Both teams trail Manchester United right now, but both look serious title
contenders, especially while Chelsea are struggling.
Fernando Torres has been ruled out of Liverpool's Premier League trip to Blackburn on Saturday
after failing to recover sufficiently quickly from the groin injury which has forced him to miss
Rafael Benitez' side's last four fixtures.
The Spanish international striker returned to full training with his team-mates yesterday and took

the Liverpool manager is hoping Torres will be able to play some part against Fiorentina in the
dead rubber Champions League game on Wednesday.
Sunday's games: A tale of how the mighty have fallen.
Ok, ok, that's a bit over dramatic (and ridiculously cliche). So sue me.

opened up voting on the top spot. In 2007, we received less than 100 votes. This season we have
several hundred and we appreciate your interest.

Hello hello, lots to be getting on with this morning so no hanging about.
Starting with team news and there's some good news, possibly, and some unexpected and rather bad
news. Tomas Rosicky may well be back for tonight's game against Portsmouth, which is good, although
he may not make his comeback until the West Ham game on Sunday.
Check out this interview with Lilian Thuram, conducted by Pierce Freelon via Blackademics. I
stumbled onto this exploring the website generated by Professor Lauren Dubois's course on World Cup
politics. Amazingly, Thurham was in residence at Duke as a part of this course.
Cheers to Blackademics.
