Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has revealed that the most memorable match which he has ever watched
as a football fan was Liverpool's epic Champions League final victory against AC Milan in 2005.
The 22-year-old Gunner recalled how Rafael Benitez's side battled back from a 3-0 deficit at
half-time to take the match to extra time before eventually sealing the game in a dramatic penalty
shootout.

As 2010 arrives through the doorstep, La Liga returns with a vengeance from the winter break
that seemingly flew by so quickly.
A festive atmosphere enveloped the Camp Nou on Saturday evening as the boys of the
Blaugrana celebrated their unprecedented six-trophy year with their Barça faithful.
Villarreal was a mere afterthought as the Barcelona players deservedly received their plaudits for
a year of literal perfection.
Fabregas (bottom left) and Pique (beside the keeper) were developed at Barca.
After a year when Barcelona won everything there was for a club team to win people have started
wondering where the Blaugrana will go from here. This thinking has been compounded with Barca's
premature exit in the Spanish Copa del Rey earlier this week.
2009 has ended and 2010 has begun. For every Barca fan 2009 will be a special year. It was the most
perfect year in the history of the club. With the triumphs of 2009, we enter 2010 with greater hope
for a year as good as the last one. Repeating 2009's success would be very difficult but repeating
the style in which we played is very much possible.
FC Barcelona will be returning back to La Liga action tonight with Villareal visiting Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi will not feature in tonight's encounter as he was given an extended holiday. Yaya
Toure has already left for African nations Cup, eventhough it is clear that Guardiola will not have
used him even if he is available.
Barcelona 1 - 1 Villarreal
(1-0) 7' Pedro, (1-1) 50' Fuster
Whoever wrote the Camp Nou script for Barcelonas celebration of their six trophy
bonanza, a draw with Villarreal surely wasn't part of it. That man
Pedro got the hosts off to the perfect start after Thierry Henry
had slammed a first time shot onto the bar, and he chested down to fire emphatically past Diego
Lopez.
Spanish La Liga leader FC Barcelona was held to 1-1 draw by a spirited Villarreal side at the Camp
Nou earlier today. Rising star Pedro Rodriguez put Barca ahead in the seventh minute as he pounced
on a rebound from a Thierry Henry volley. However, the Yellow Submarine's David Fuster equalized in
the 51st with a one [.
Barcelona endured a frustrating return to action in La Liga as they were held at Camp Nou by
Villareal yesterday evening. The hosts enjoyed a wonderful 2009, culminating in Leo Messi's
extra-time winner in Abu Dhabi which disposed of Estudiantes and secured the World Club
Championship, but their first match of 2010 was muted by comparison.
The Spanish Copa del Rey begins its round of 16 first legs this week with defending champions FC
Barcelona hosting Sevilla. The two clubs are in the top five of the La Liga standings and have also
advanced to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League. The match took place at the Camp Nou
on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.
Defending Copa del Rey champions FC Barcelona and Spanish La Liga 3rd place side Valencia C.F. both
suffered surprising loses in the first leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 16 earlier this week. A
depleted FC Barcelona suffered a rare home loss to Sevilla by a score of 1-2 at the Camp Nou while

Arsenal return to action tomorrow afternoon against Everton at the Emirates. With the Bolton
match canceled, there hasn't been much news in the last few days. What is the media's reaction to
slow Arsenal news cycles? Create another Cesc-to-Spain rumour? Correct!
This time, Pep Guardiola has allegedly delayed renewing his contract until he receives a
commitment from the Barca brass that they will bring Fabregas to Camp Nou this summer.
Defending Copa del Rey champions FC Barcelona and Spanish La Liga 3rd place side Valencia C.F. were
both eliminated from the Copa del Rey in the tournament's Round of 16 yesterday. FC Barcelona
were unable to recover from last week's 1-2 loss to Sevilla at the Camp Nou in spite of their 1-0
away win.
The matches to watch after you realize Manchester United assistant Mike Phelan was trying to
look like a member of Oasis with his fur-lined coat last weekend. And that the Bundesliga is
finally back from its 600-day Christmas break.

next?
As Barcelona streched their lead to five points over their bitter rivals from Madrid with a
sparkling second half display against Sevilla, there was still something bugging president Joan
Laporta as he made his post-match interviews. The increasing doubt surrounding Pep Guardiolas
future at the club and the inevitable questions from reporters about the subject.

The world's best player ensured Barca avenged the Coppa del Rey exit at the hands of Sevilla
when he scored two goals in the 4-0 rout of the Rojiblancos. Lionel Messi not only helped the
Catalan club thump Sevilla but also made sure the lead over Real Madrid got extended to a
comfortable five points.

In a story that has presumably just been picked from the footballing ether, The Daily
Star are today reporting that Barcelona have stepped up their bid to take Wayne
Rooney to the Camp Nou.
Club President Joan Laporta and Technical Secretary Txiki Begiristain have called an impromptu
press conference at the Camp Nou premises, with the main objective of announcing the renewal of Pep
Guardiola. The press conference has been scheduled for 1330 hrs. Catalan time, and has been
reported by Sport as well as El Mundo Deportivo.
The Eto - Ibrahmovic swap was the second biggest thing to happen in the summer. It came through
with a lot of skepticism. Especially considering that Ibrahmovic was replacing one of Club's
prolific goal scorer - a guy who has score crucial goals in both of Barca's Champions League
Triumphs.
It is always an enlightening and captivating experience heading to a foreign country. The sense
of the sheer unknown and undiscovered unfolding in front of your very eyes is unique to say the
least. Barcelona, the heart of Spain's Catalan community is no different. Spain's second biggest
town is particularly renowned for its art, with many works of Pablo Picasso and Antonio Gaudi
standing proudly for the culture-thirsty tourists and locals alike.

A host of Prem teams are following yonder starlets
Spanish giants Barcelona may have a fight on their hands to keep two of their most promising
young stars at the Camp Nou. It has emerged that both Jeffren Suarez and
Gai Assulin are being coveted by a flock of Premier League teams.
