Generally when a team fires a coach midseason, they will schedule it before a series of easier
opponents. This gives the new coach a chance to start off his tenure with some good results, and
from a PR perspective it makes it easier to convince the fans that the change was for the better
based on those results.

I thought given 12-14 hours after the game I would have calmed down about the result of the game,
but I'm still frustrated with the result. Sporting KC pissed away two points yesterday,
surrendering a 3 goal lead in the final 20 minutes, 2 in second half stoppage time to go from a 3-0
lead to a 3-3 draw.
In their first game since the coaching shuffle, the Vancouver Whitecaps picked up a point at home
on Wednesday. Chivas USA went up a goal in the 46th minute through Nick LaBrocca. Vancouver was
level two minutes later when Camilo scored. Eric Hasseli was ejected in the 66th minute, with the
Whitecaps finishing a man down.
The Vancouver Whitecaps blew another lead on Saturday, and this one hurt the most.
The 'Caps couldn't make Camilo Sanvezzo's brilliant free kick in the 21st minute stand up as
Toronto FC completed a second-half comeback to win 2-1 at BMO Field (and the aggregate-goal series,
3-2), securing the Nutrilite Canadian Championship for a third consecutive year.

D.C. United's rookie crop has turned in quite the season.
This past weekend it was goalkeeper Joe Willis' turn to answer the call, as he stepped in for
the suspended Bill Hamid and delivered some top-notch saves against the Vancouver Whitecaps en
route to a clean sheet in his MLS debut and earned SBI MLS Rookie of the Week honors.
The best photo from a blurry batch of cell-phone pictures. I'm glad to say that I was lucky enough
to be able to go to Empire Field's last Vancouver Whitecaps game against the Seattle Sounders. When
I go see matches live, I'm usually too engrossed in the action and swept up by the atmosphere to be
able to properly focus on what I'm going to write later in the match report.

There were several worthy nominees for MLS Player of the Week this week, but no player showed
off a more impressive display of skill than Sporting Kansas City's Teal Bunbury, who earned SBI's
MLS Player of the Week honors after scoring a pair of amazing goals.
Facing the Vancouver Whitecaps in front of a hostile crowd still angry at his decision to play
for the United States instead of Canada, Bunbury silenced the boos with a pair of stunning strikes
that helped SKC jump out to a 3-0 lead.

From Vancouver's thrilling three-goal comeback to Dwayne De Rosario's debut with the New York
Red Bulls, MLS Week 3 was memorable for a variety of reasons.
The Whitecaps posted a thrilling battle from three goals down, including a pair of Camilo goals
in stoppage time.
The Houston Dynamo offense enjoyed its best day of the young season, rattling off three goals to
knock off the Vancouver Whitecaps, 3-1, on Sunday at Robertson Stadium.
Cam Weaver, Bobby Boswell and Will Bruin scored goals on a night when Vancouver's defense
struggled badly, particularly after the departure of veteran centerback Jay DeMerit at halftime
with a groin injury.
Houston picked up three points in Major League Soccer's Sunday game, beating Vancouver at Robertson
Stadium. Cam Weaver opened the scoring in the 36th minute, but Vancouver was level two minutes
later through Camilo. Bobby Boswell put Houston in front for good in the 42nd, and Will Bruin added
another goal in the 76th minute.
I was lucky enough to attend the Vancouver Whitecaps FC first night match against the New England
Revolution. It was my first MLS match and I truly couldn't wait to watch the Caps take on the
Revolution, hoping for three points. While the experience at the stadium was fantastic, the match
was a strange one.
Luke Rodgers scored his fifth goal of the season, converting a Jan Gunnar Solli cross to cement
the New York Red Bulls' come-from-behind, 1-1 draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps at Empire
Field.
Vancouver opened the scoring in the 24th minute with Eric Hassli's successful penalty kick after
Camilo was tripped in the area by Carlos Mendes.

CARSON, Calif -- Nick LaBrocca scored the opening goal for the Rojiblancos in the first minute
of the second half. Moments later, Camilo and the visiting Whitecaps answered back for the
equalizer that sent this second half showcase into a 1-1 draw at the Home Depot Center.

After having its home unbeaten run ended the week before by Seattle, Real Salt Lake recorded a
comfortable 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps after goals Jean Alexandre and Fabian Espindola
claimed all three points for the home side.
Alexandre put in a Man of the Match performance after turning from goal-scorer to provider for
both goals on either side of the halftime whistle.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have gone 14 straight games without a win, a streak that started against
the Philadelphia Union all the way at the start of the 2011 MLS season. That streak has gone on
despite the play of designated player Eric Hassli and fellow striker Camilo Sanvezzo.
In the first meeting between the two sides back on March 26, the Union's defense consistently
frustrated the hot headed Hassli to the point where he began to slip up with his behavior.
Sporting KC knew that it was better than its 1-6-1 start. Saturday night in Kansas City,
Sporting finally climbed out of last place in the Eastern Conference with a 2-1 win over the
Vancouver Whitecaps.
Vancouver jumped on KC early when Camilo Sanvezzo scored in the 15th minute. But Sporting came
right back as Omar Bravo and Julio Santos Correa each scored before halftime to put KC up for
good.

For the first time in a month, Sporting Kansas City are no longer the basement dwellers of the
East.
The 2-1 win came thanks to goals from DP Omar Bravo and Julio César later in the first half
after initially falling behind off a Camilo Sanvezzo header in the 15th minute.

Sporting KC fell behind early against the Vancouver Whitecaps last night at LiveSTRONG Sporting
Park, but were able to fight back and win all three with goals by Omar Bravo and Julio Cesar to
give KC a 2-1 win over the Canadian side.

Radamel Falcao (´14 y ´28 penal), Colombia venció (2-0)
a Bolivia en el

puesto del Grupo A.

Reinforcements could be on their way to Vancouver. The club is set to make a "major"
announcement this morning. Yeah I know what you all are thinking with the word major in quotes but
this one seems fairly straight forward here. Marc Weber of The Providence is reporting the club is
set to sign a forward, possibly a Designated Player to go along with their current DP forward Eric
Hassli.
Mustapha Jarju. You got that name? Alright. Learn it because he's MLS's newest Designated Player
today as Vancouver announced the signing of the 24-year old Gambian striker today.
Jarju joins Whitecaps FC after three successful seasons with Belgian club Royal Albert-Elisabeth
Club (RAEC) de Mons.

Shaun Wright-Phillips' 25-yard gave touring Manchester City a 2-1 win against Vancouver Whitecaps
in friendly action on Monday night. Camilo Sanvezzo's surprisingly put MLS strugglers Vancouver up
1-0 in the 30th-minute on a deflected shot before Swedish Under-21 international John Guidetti
equalized for the FA Cup champions on 68 minutes.
Entering the match, the two sides came in limping. Vancouver were on a four match losing streak and
San Jose had gone winless in six.
San Jose's Strategy Frank Yallop started with a 4-2-3-1
formation, using Wondolowski on the left side instead of as a strike partner for Lenhart. Lenhart's
job was to hold up the ball and he took quite a pummeling doing so.
Camilo Sanvezzo and Davide Chiumiento of Vancouver Whitecaps are featured in the above video, to
show you how EA Sports captures video of players and turns them into animations for the upcoming
FIFA 12 video game.
As you can see in the above video, EA Sports used to film amateurs but they found it was better
to put professional soccer players on the pitch to capture a more true representation of the
beautiful game.
After a month away from my dear Whitecaps (vacationing in Italy), I'm glad to finally be back and
able to check up with everything that has been going on with the team. Right away I saw the
highlights of a fantastic 4-2 home victory against the Chicago Fire, and while there were some new
faces that I didn't recognize playing for the Caps, the team still had the same heart and spirit as
ever.

Chris Pontius scored on either side of halftime and rookie goalkeeper Joe Willis marked his MLS
debut with a shutout to go along with two highlight reel saves to help D.C. United to a 4-0 win
over the Vancouver Whitecaps ...
After returning from my lengthy vacation, it took me some time to get back into my usual rhythm
regarding the Whitecaps. The game against Portland is the first game I've seen for about six solid
weeks, and I can't say I saw any improvements in my Whitecaps.
Like usual I got home late and turned on the TV with the game already started.

When Kei Kamara put Sporting Kansas City ahead of the Vancouver Whitecaps, 3-0, midway through
the second half, things looked pretty bleak for the expansion side, playing in front of its home
fans for the second time this season.
Two impactful substitutions and three clutch goals later, the Whitecaps earned the wildest point
of the MLS season to date.
Major League Soccer announced Vancouver forward Camilo as the League's Player of the Week for Week
3. Camilo triggered a late comeback for the Whitecaps against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday in a
3-3 draw. Camilo scored twice in stoppage time.
Behind goals from Cam Weaver, Bobby Boswell and Will Bruin, the Houston Dynamo earned their
first victory of the 2011 season, defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 in front of 12,047 at
Robertson Stadium.
It was a nearly perfect first half for the Dynamo. They were controlling possession, making good
passes, creating chances and generated two goals.
Ah, quick midweek turnarounds. It just wouldn't be an MLS season without two home matches
sandwiching a cross-country Wednesday road rip.
The Revolution are getting a look at MLS's other expansion side in the Pacific Northwest on
Wednesday, the Vancouver Whitecaps. Like the Timbers, they're a west coast team with a rich history
and roots put down long before their entry into MLS.
I will be trying to drop a new piece every week doing a quick recap of all the past week's MLS
action. With 18 teams, that's a lot of action to try to follow, so I thought it would be a good
idea to condense everything into one place for all of our readers. Although the week could have
been much better had we beaten the hated Sounders, there was still plenty of thrilling MLS action
to go around (except for the Chivas/Columbus game, which I will touch on later).
Two goals against San Jose won New York Red Bulls forward Luke Rodgers Player of the Week honors
