After August's rioting in London, Tottenham full-back Benoit Assou Ekotto was one of the most vocal
and active footballing voices suggesting that the game could be doing more to deal with social
problems in their local area. The Cameroon international took to the streets to see some of the
worst affected areas for himself after [.
Tunisia The team to beat at Africa Cup of Nations 2012? is a post from: Just Football
My latest African football column for FourFourTwo looks at Tunisia and
whether they are the team to beat at this year's AFCON:
For a team that could just as easily be sitting at home watching on TV, they made a pretty good
start.
So Newcastle's new signing Papiss Demba Cisse and fellow Senegalese team mate Demba Ba netted
goals for the Magpies in their 2-1 home win over Aston Villa yesterday. However, whats funny is
that the same two players could not do the same for Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.
And this is interesting because African players have a tendency to perform well for their clubs,
but when it comes to their national sides, it is a different story.

The Loic Remy rumours are gathering momentum and while other players such as Olivier Giroud are
also being connected with Spurs, it seems that the Marseille centre forward is the focus of media
attention for now at least.
Some reports are also suggesting that Tottenham could be in for a double swoop with Remy's team
mate Stephane MBia arriving as part of the deal.

collapsing on the pitch during Bolton's FA Cup clash with Tottenham. In scenes eerily reminiscent

Was Lionel Messi so prodigious at the age of 7 a French-Cameroonian family knew to name their
son after him? Probably.
Much like Michel Platini both heads UEFA and plays in the attack for Dinamo Bucharest world's
greatest multitasker, him Lionel Messi (Nyamsi) has been offered a contract for Angers in Ligue
2.
Lionel Messi has made an exciting transfer move to French outfit Angers but it's a Cameroon under
17 international rather than his Barcelona superstar namesake. OTP is doubtful that it's his real
name, but it's certainly the name that the 16-year-old has registered under at the Toulouse-based
side.
Kos gets a new French speaking mate, hopefully
The biggest news of the day is of course the one that surrounds Yann M'Vila and his proposed
move to Arsenal. First sighting of that piece of news on my timeline was yesterday from
@YouAreMyArsenal and seemed to have been confirmed by respected French journalist Julien Laurens
today.

TweetCameroon goalkeeper Alan Tshoumi Tiko raised many eyebrows with his very bizarre means of
releasing the ball upfield. Blink and you will miss it! Don't really know what to make of it all. I
suppose Tiko likes to ensure that entertainment remains central to the beautiful game; but really
though..
