Today Miami FC announced 4 more players starting with former Chivas USA keeper Lance Parker.
fighting for that starting goalkeeper position will be Caleb Patterson while in midfield we get
Sean Cameron and local product Gabriel Hoyos.
It's great to have these two quality goalkeepers on the team.
A fascinating interview in today's Herlad Scotland showed why Alexei Lalas just may be the best
ambassador for US soccer today. Whenever Lalas speaks you get a real sense of his passion and love
for not only the USMNT, but also the MLS and the growing passion for the game in our country.
A few highlights from the article include:
- After bragging about the success of Maurice Edu, Stuart Holden and Clint Dempsey, Lalas was
asked who might be next to leave MLS and thrive in Europe.

The day has some for those Houston Dynamo fans, their club no now longer has Stuart Holden.
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed that the club will sign Holden as one of two winter
acquisitions.
Holden joins former Dynamo teammate Ricardo Clark, who has signed with Eintracht Frankfurt, as
Americans to make major transfer moves from MLS this winter.
Former Missouri State Bear Lance Parker (2008), after spending two years with Chivas USA, has
signed with Miami FC of the NASL. A native of Oklahoma City, Lance Parker made his official Chivas
USA debut on July 13 in a 2-1 SuperLiga loss to Pachuca, and his MLS debut on Aug. 8, 2009. Parker
made his MLS debut in Chivas USA's 4-0 loss to Colorado on Aug.
HOUSTON, Tex Team icon Brian Ching, fellow 2010 MLS All-Star Brad Davis and talented, young
midfielder Geoff Cameron highlight the list of 11 players the Dynamo will protect during
Wednesday's expansion draft. The Dynamo could protect 11 players, and they chose to protect Ching,
Davis, Cameron, Lovel Palmer, Bobby Boswell, Colin Clark, Mike Chabala, [.

I'm hearing rumors about a few upcoming roster moves from the Dynamo. Nothing is confirmed as of
yet and there is always the chance that things could change, but the news is interesting enough to
at least mention.
David Agrell at the MLS Insider says Dom's not scared, so why should anyone else be? Well, to look
further into that question after reading Agrell's great piece (see it here), I think there are no
reasons why DYNAMO fans should be scared. But the rest of the league? They may just start seeming
to the team like each of them looks like a certain Harris County Commissioner.

We knew going into the weekend that some games would prove to be bigger and better than others.
Turns out some that we didn't expect much out of turned out to be better than advertised. The
bigger story may be Seattle's rough week where they lost in Toronto on Sunday and pretty much lost
in a draw to FC Dallas on Thursday.
FC Dallas takes on the Houston Dynamo tonight (8pm, Galavision) in a match-up of teams that
have won a combined six MLS Cup titles, but are going through periods of transition this year.
The Dynamo (4-4-1) enter in better shape than D.C., but inconsistency has doomed Houston to an
average season so far as Dom Kinnear's squad copes with the loss of Stuart Holden and Ricardo Clark
(as well as the season-ending surgery for Geoff Cameron).
U.S. Open Cup continues for Miami FC as they take on MLS side Houston Dynamo in the third round of
the cup. The game takes place today Tuesday, June 29 at Robertson Field and will start at 8:30 p.m.
EST.
As of this moment there seems to be no live video feed (If I find one I'll let you know) but you
can listen to the game if you go to Sports Talk 790 in Houston.
Jonny Bornstein, seen here playing against Houston's Geoff Cameron earlier this season, said
Monday his toughest opponent in MLS was the Dynamo (and individually it was Brian Mullan,
incidentally). (AP photo).
Jonathan Bornstein has always been among the most approachable players in the league.
J.R. Eskilson can see the future.
Quote: This is as close as you may ever see to a perfect draft. Every single player has a purpose
for the team and could see significant minutes by the end of the season. Mwanga immediately gives
Union a player to build around. How can he possibly know this?

Last one out of Robertson Stadium, turn off the lights, eh?
It's not exactly that dire, but the club from South Texas finds itself in a state of alarming
flux. Let's look at the score sheet:
Ricardo Clark, the team's rock in midfield, is reportedly in the final stages of signing with
Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
We're over the halfway stage now in Angola and it has proved to be everything I hoped for;
excitement, bags of goals, ridiculous refereeing, gravity defying longshots and abysmal defending.
What I didn't hope for was the terrible Togo shooting incident that overshadowed the earlier part
of the tournament.
1. This match will make it onto ESPN Classic. Unfortunately, tonight's live broadcast will be
both its first and last appearance on the Classic channel, as it will never make it into their
must-see replay rotation.
2. Jonathan Bornstein will get beaten numerous times by his man, but praised overall for his
crossing ability.
Just saw this on the WV Hooligan blog that Dynamo just traded to get the rights to Adrian Serioux.
(And click here for the Toronto Sun's story on the deal.)
Personally, I think this is a great move as it really shores up the Route 1 defense while Geoff
Cameron finds his footing in the CAM role.
A game that began in stuttering fashion sparked into life with four goals in five first half
minutes. The Eastlands outfit, looking to lay claim to fourth spot, went two goals up with goals
from Carlos Tevez and Nedum Onuoha. Cameron Jerome then immediately replied for the away side.
Emmanuel Adebayor then restored the two goal lead and the second half saw Manchester City play
some very attractive football and they deservedly scored a fourth when Onuoha scored his second
before Adebayor completed the rout.
Despite the rough loss at Chicago Fire last weekend and the PCL rupture suffered by Dynamo
Midfielder Geoff Cameron, Coach Dominic Kinnear manages to field a side that picked up a strong
victory over the Kansas City Wizards here in Houston on Saturday night. Meanwhile, in Italy, Inter
maintains a 2 point lead over Roma in the Scudetto race with only two match days left in the
season.

So the challenge was simple enough: Pick an MLS starting eleven that which has a total 2010
Guaranteed Compensation under $1,000,000.
The results were simple enough too. A pretty good team, I'd say. (Review it here.)
But as it turns out, the process of choosing the team and some insight about the league that
came from it are probably what was the most interesting.
Robbie Findley played out his MLS contract in search of a European contract and appears to have
secured one.
The U.S. national team striker and former Real Salt Lake forward has signed with English League
Championship side Nottingham Forest, the club announced on Thursday.
Three state seniors were named to the NSCAA All-Central/West Region Scholar boys soccer
team.
Middleton defender Matt Hanus, Madison Memorial midfielder Robin
Forslund and Fond du Lac forward Cameron Pieper made the squad, which
featured just 11 members.

So here we are in 2010, a year that will again provide us with another month of top quality
entertainment, our eyes stuck to the screen as we see great names perform to the highest levels of
peak perfection until there can be left just one standing at the final whistle.........my money is
on Vinnie Jones.
Group C – Benin, Egypt, Nigeria, Mozambique
Benin
Not a lot of people have heard of Benin and less have seen it, the gaff is tiny and the squad is
tinier but they definitely have the best nickname, The Squirrals! Most of the ickle Benin team make
Shaun Wright Phillips look like Crouchy on stilts.
Birmingham City continued their fine run of form with a draw against champions Manchester United
in a game that the Blues often outplayed their Old Trafford based opponents.
Cameron Jerome put Birmingham City ahead and were unlucky to concede an own goal that leveled
the game early in the second half.

Cameron Jerome scored for Birmingham after Jonny Evans made a hames of a clearance.
Man U managed to draw the game when an unfortunate Scott Dann turned the ball into his own net.The
linesman had his flag up for offside or something but he was over ruled and the goal stood.
Let's be clear here: let's just stop making excuses for our team. We can go on about our
dominant possession; throw stats out in the air on how much of pitch area our players covered. And
perhaps go on a rant about sides parking their bus against us. Or, how unfair Cameron Jerome's goal
was.
But what's the point?
Here is a link to an interview that the USSF did with Geoff Cameron from the Houston Dynamo.

The U.S. has had its share of tall defenders here and there throughout the years, and certainly the
aerial game has been considered a team strength, and still one can't help but notice the collection
of (relative) giants here at the January training camp. Take a look at the list of potential
centerbacks for the game against Honduras, and you can see where re-starts could be a big factor

This week's guest on the Jared Montz Soccer Podcast is Geoff Cameron. Geoff was named an MLS
Best XI player in 2009, received his first U.S. National Team call up in January of this year and
he is entering his third season professional season with the Houston Dynamo.
As has often happened this season, Liverpool went away from a match frustrated. The performance
wasn't there but enough chances were created to win it. Just as disappointing was the nature of
Birmingham's equaliser as Liverpool had defended impeccably until then. Of course much of the focus
will go on the substitution of Fernando Torres and the chances missed by David N'Gog.
