While the Varsity Boat Race on Saturday afternoon was giving the security staff present a busier
afternoon than they might have been expecting, there was another meeting of Oxford and Cambridge
courtesy of the humorists at the Southern Football League, who scheduled the match between Oxford
City and Cambridge City.
Castles. Hedges the size of grandstands. Corner flags that have seen better days. New York
Cosmos fans. Luxury suites the size of an outdoor toilet. And real, genuine, muddy football. Pitch

Normal service is now to resume after the somewhat chaotic Christmas and New Year matches, but
we're going to spend a little time catching up with the last of the festive highlights from over
the course of the last three days or so. We have six matches lined up for you this evening. From
the Blue Square Premier, we have highlights of the matches between Wrexham & AFC Telford United and
Forest Green Rovers.

This week's non-league videos of the week come from a variety of different competitions,
including the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Vase. First up, though, is the match between
Cambridge City and Banbury United in the Southern League Premier Division. Cambridge were beaten in
the play-offs in this league last season, and are hoping to go one better than that this this
season, whilst Banbury United are are hoping to challenge for the championship themselves.

This week's Non-League Videos Of The Week see us return to the FA Cup, which reached the First
Qualifying Round the third round of matches in this year's competition. This round sees the first
appearance of the clubs of the Premier Divisions of the Isthmian, Southern and Northern Premier
Leagues, so there are some familiar faces taking their first bow in this competition in this
round.

The non-league season the Isthmian League aside started yesterday, and we're delighted to be
able to bring you highlights of four matches this evening, one from the Blue Square Premier, two
from the Blue Square South and one from the Premier Division of the Southern League. The first

The Southern Premier League has a new sponsor this year, the same one as its northern
counterpart so make sure you don't confuse the two. Helpful. Anyway, teamwise the biggest relief
for those footballers who get car sick is that Truro have been promoted, so that's one afternoon
spent on the M5 looking at the back of caravans which teams and fans alike won't have to
endure.

It is the end, then, of another long, hard season, and perhaps now is an appropriate time to be
looking at how those clubs that are owned and run by their supporters trusts this season managed to
fair. As AFC Wimbledon paraded the trophy that confirmed their accession into the Football League
nine years after their formation, the words of the FA's committee, that a new club in the borough
would be, "not in the wider interests of football", have never sounded more hollow.
There are just four weeks left to go of the season in the Blue Square South, one of the two
feeder leagues to the Blue Square Premier, and there is still all to play for at the top of the
table. This week's Non-League Videos Of The Week features six of the top eight in the league, and
with the battle for the title and for the four play-off places still wide open, there is still all
to play for.

This week's Non-league videos have a running theme in that they all feature clubs that are owned
by their supporters, and clubs that we are featuring this evening not necessarily those that get
the most attention in the press.
