After taking a few weeks of the 2009 Major League Soccer season to get going, Houston Dynamo
rose to the top of the table last weekend as their remarkable run of good form continued. Chivas
USA, Toronto FC and Chicago Fire have all impressed for periods, but Dynamo have quietly put
together a superb run and put themselves in a position to fly past the stumbling pace-setters.
Next week is big for the Sounders. They have a chance to return Seb/Levesque/etal to the Semis of
the US Open Cup for a third straight year. All it will take is beating the Wizards with Keller on
the pitch for a Full 90. Also looming though is the Saturday match v THE dominant [...]
Former Dynamo Player Kei Kamara
Going into Sunday's home match against the Kansas City Wizards, the Houston Dynamo knew the
needed a result to secure their fourth straight playoff berth since moving to the Bayou City, but
when forward Cam Weaver received a red card in the 17th minute hopes of an easy victory were
quickly dashed.
And that word is: Punchless.
Or it could be seven words: This team is nothing without Landon Donovan.
So let's start with the positive: shutting out Houston at home in front of a sell-out crowd and
forcing Pat Onstad to actually make some saves. Once again Donovan
Ricketts proves his worth making a busload of saves and the backline bends but doesn't
break.
Damn! Damn! Damn! Ives has Cam Weaver about to wear the Amway motif for San Jose. I'm bitter in
some ways, as he was one that I really wanted to return. Hope the passion of the South Bay is
enough for him, at least he gets to come to Seattle twice next year.
Here is a quite underated player that has good potential and also another San Jose deal that is
very close to being finished.

San Jose Earthquakes are wrapping up the signing of 6-foot-4 forward Cam Weaver from FK
Haugesund of Norway.
The Quakes are excited about the potential of Weaver, who played with the Seattle Sounders of the
United Soccer League in 2006.

I wonder what kind of odds I can get that he scores a brace against Dallas?
Sounders can take a huge step towards their first silverware of the 2009 inaugural season the
Heritage Cup. The Cup is a Supporters Cup initiated by Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation
and will be determined by a best of last two matches between all clubs with an NASL heritage name.
Points here are needed [.
Houston Dynamo forward Cam Weaver has been selected as the MLS Daily Player of the Week for his
two-goal, one-assist performance in Houston's pair of victories in Week 14. It was Weaver's first
action as a member of the Dynamo, having been traded away from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange
for Chris Wondolowski on Tuesday of last week.
The trade season is officially on.
The following series of emails were received early this morning. Of course now the trade is
official but we thought it would be fun to show you the kind of behind the scenes tips we get:

Houston Dynamo announced via twitter that the team finalized a trade overnight.
As Bernardo Fallas at Houtson Chronicle is reporting (click here
for the original article and all the details) that Houston Dynamo striker Chris Wondolowski plus a
conditional 2010 draft pick is being traded to the San Jose Earthquakes for striker Cam Weaver.
How about Cam Weaver? The coach in San Jose didn't like him and traded him. Then he goes and
has a great start in Houston! Lesson learned, always believe in yourself and don't let one
coach's bad opinion affect your confidence!
Did you think the Fire's penalty kick call against them was legit?
