Saer Sène and A.J. Soares scored two minutes apart early in the second half to briefly put the
New England Revolution on level terms, but substitute Maicon Santos responded for D.C. United with
the game-winning goal in the 61st minute as the Revs suffered a 3-2 loss on Saturday night at RFK
Stadium.

Chicago Fire defender Dan Gargan has made news on the field as an automatic starter at for his
club, but he keeps drawing notice off the field for his artwork too.
Gargan drew notice earlier this season with the terrific video he put together looking at
Chicago's preseason preparation for the MLS season.
Vicente del Bosque has done it again by messing with everyone's heads! The
Spanish coach announced his 'provisional' Euro 2012 squad yesterday and the players involved will
face Korea and Serbia in friendly matches next week and head to
the tournament from their training base, Switzerland, right after.
The Dynamo travel to the nation's capital to face streaking DC United who are unbeaten in six
matches, going back to a March 18th loss to the Galaxy. United took apart the New York Red Bulls
last weekend 4-1 so one expects they'll be full of confidence ahead of this early season Eastern
Conference clash.

Thought things couldn't get any worse for the New York Red Bulls' defense? Think again.
Fresh off of a 4-1 loss to rival D.C. United, the defensively hobbled Red Bulls have just been
dealt another blow, as coach Hans Backe has revealed centerback Stephen Keel will be out of action
for a few weeks with back injury for which he was listed as "questionable" on the club's injury
report as of Tuesday.
Wow, a match two weekends in row! We're going to get spoiled.
The Dynamo's stretch of matches against Eastern Conference foes continues with a trip to
Columbus to face the Crew. Robert Warzycha's side have lost two straight matches and will be
looking to rebound against the Dynamo in the friendly confines of Crew Stadium.

D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls will renew their longtime rivalry Sunday, and they'll do
so with second place in the Eastern Conference at stake.
The match features two of the league's most in-form teams, with New York unbeaten in four and
United undefeated in five.
Just when Toronto FC is on the verge of getting one Designated Player back on the field, another
one goes down with an injury.
With Torsten Frings set to return from a hamstring injury, Dutch striker Danny Koevermans
appears set to miss this weekend's clash with the Chicago Fire with a leg injury that he suffered
in training.
The Houston Dynamo are in a bit of a personnel crisis with suspensions and injuries taking their
toll on the club's roster, but the club augmented its defensive options on Friday with the signing
of a young Mexican left back.
Houston acquired Oscar Recio on loan from Monterrey, a move that frees starting left back Corey
Ashe to slide up to the midfield with Brad Davis nursing a calf injury.
It's only been two weeks since the Dynamo last played an MLS match, but it feels like a month.
Considering the season just started and the fact we're still a month (a little less technically)
from the home opener probably contributes to the gap feeling a lot worse.
It's been a tumultuous couple weeks though for the Dynamo despite not being on the field.
The Houston Dynamo are coming off consecutive bye weeks, but that does not mean the well-rested
club is not facing some serious issues ahead of its match against the Chicago Fire this Sunday.
With Adam Moffat and Colin Clark already suspended for the game, the Dynamo could be down a
third midfield starter with 2011 MLS MVP runner-up and assist king Brad Davis nursing a calf injury
that he suffered in training over the weekend.
First Colin Clark (3 match ban), then Adam Moffat (1 match ban), now Brad Davis. The Left Footed
Beckham is questionable for Sunday's match against the Chicago Fire with a calf injury and will
undergo an MRI today. That's never something we like to hear about any of our players, but
especially about our midfield maestro.
Alan Pardew gave an injury update this morning to the local Newcastle press. Cheick Tiote due
back next Sunday It appears that Cheick Tiote will be back for the game next Sunday afternoon at
West Brom, but Ryan Taylor will still be out with his calf injury. Alan Pardew is hoping that Ryan
will be back for our next home game [.

Manchester City will go into the second leg of their Europa League last 16 fixture needing to
overhaul a one-goal deficit at the Etihad after an exquisitely cheeky backheel from Brazilian
centre-half Xandao saw Sporting run out as a narrow winners in Lisbon.
Sunday's North London derby brought Tottenham Hotspur back down to earth after an unexpected
thrashing at the hands of Arsenal. Two goals down with five minutes to go until half time, the
Gunners drew level prior to the break before emphatically defeating Spurs 5-2. A lot of the blame
seems to have been thrown at manager Harry Redknapp for his tactics and substitutions that had
little impact.
The Frank Lampard Appreciation Society presents another series of entries in the diary of one

This is the season that can do neither wrong nor right by me.
Schalke 04 midfielder Jermaine Jones won't be available for the United States due to a right calf
injury, the US Soccer Federation announced on Wednesday. Jones played in the January friendlies for
the USA. Jones's absence reduces the US roster to 20 players available for Wednesday's game against
Italy (2:30pm ET - ESPN2).
The New England Revolution are looking to follow-up Wednesday night's positive performance
against the Los Angeles Galaxy when they take on the New York Red Bulls tonight in game two of the
Desert Diamond Cup on Tucson, AZ. New York is coming off of a 0-0 draw with Pumas UNAM earlier this
week at Chase Field.

U.S. starting right back Steve Cherundolo is nearing a special milestone this season that will
guarantee his place for another year at the only club he has called home during his standout
professional career.

Scan't pay for that Cash-strapped Championship side Portsmouth are unable to find out the extent of

Appleton has revealed. Pompey are expected to re-enter administration today after their
well-documented financial problems resurfaced.

After D.C. United and the Chicago Fire had their fair share of defensive struggles throughout
the 2011 MLS campaign, the two teams both had a notable silver lining to take away from their
friendly Sunday: no goals allowed.
Arsene Wenger has said that he can take criticism from his own fans as the club heads into the
business end of the 2011/12 season.
Last weekend, Arsenal once again lost to bitter rivals Manchester United by a scoreline of 2-1,
which was their third consecutive league defeat. Wenger infamously substituted impressive Alex
Oxlade-Chamberlain with severely out-of-form Andrey Arshavin in the second half of the match.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Remember on Sunday afternoon? Against Manchester United? When Robin van Persie mouthed the words
'oh no' as Arsenal's most enterprising attacking threat was substituted off for Andrey Arshavin?
Apparently that was a thing.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielder Jack Wilshere's rehabilitation
process has finally reached the phase where he can take part in outdoor training sessions.
Wilshere's last competitive football match remains the Euro 2012 qualifier that he played for
England against Switzerland in June last year.
Good morning to you and welcome to Thursday. The week is flying by. Must be all the high jinks
and fun. Can't think what else it would be.
Let's start this morning with Jack Wilshere. Apparently he's 'stunned' doctors by being ready to
make his comeback ... erm ... pretty much on schedule. When he limped out of the Emirates Cup in
late July there was no indication he'd be out this long but since the need for surgery we've been
told he'd be back in full training by the end of January, ready for a mid-February comeback.
Jamie Carragher is flattered by talk of a role at LFC after retirement - but insists extending his
playing career for as long as possible is his top priority right now.
Fellow Scouser Steven Gerrard signed a new deal at the club last week which will see him adopt an
ambassadorial role once his playing days are over.

Liverpool: The Reds' season has had more ups and downs than a roller coaster, with the club
struggling to find any sort of consistency.
Fabio Aurelio remains upbeat about the prospect of featuring for Liverpool in the second half of
the season, and is determined to play a part in the club's quest for honours in 2012.
The 32-year-old Brazilian full-back is currently sidelined with a calf injury, and hasn't yet
featured for Kenny Dalglish's side this campaign.
Liverpool v QPR – Suarez, Barton or Mason to star?
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are the guests at Anfield today and will feel they have a chance of taking
points off Liverpool on their home patch. They'll be well aware that The Reds' record against
newly-promoted sides hasn't been the best in recent times and will also have noted how many sides
have at least left Anfield with a point this season.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has reassured Jamie Carragher that he still has a big role to play
for the club.
Carragher was surprisingly left out of the starting XI for last weekend's win at Chelsea with
Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel preferred in central defence and the long-serving defender could
again miss out for the visit of Manchester City on Sunday.
Bad luck. Just about to start the biggest game of this fall, and possibly of this season,
Olympique Lyonnais is in disarray. After a promising start to the season, both in the game and in
the mindset, OL is so far in a series of three defeats, regardless of the competition. Rémi
Garde's men are ineffective upfront and fragile behind.
Maxi, Bellamy and Suarez start for LFC v Chelsea
Kenny Dalglish has named his side to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Maxi Rodriguez makes a
surprise but welcome return and Craig Bellamy starts the game with Andy Carroll on the bench. No
room in the starting line-up for Jamie Carragher or Stewart Downing who are also both on the
bench.
Chelsea v LIVERPOOL: Luis Suarez expected to start as Jamie Carragher could return from
injury
Defender Jamie Carragher is in contention to return to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday
having missed the last two matches with a calf injury.

Kenny Dalglish claims Steven Gerrard's rehabilitation is 'progressing brilliantly' but has refused
to set a date for his possible return.
The Liverpool skipper has endured an injury-hit 2011/12 campaign, with an ankle infection currently
keeping him on the sidelines.
The Reds are reluctant to gamble on his fitness, with one setback having already been suffered this
term.
Jamie Carragher is in line to make his Liverpool return in Sunday's trip to Chelsea after
recovering from a calf injury.
The vastly-experienced defender suffered the blow in last month's Carling Cup win at Stoke, forcing
him to miss their last two outings.
However, Carragher is on the mend and first-team coach Steve Clark has been pleased with the
33-year-old's training over the past few days.
