The Decade in Review finally arrives to the 2005/2006 season. A season filled with such controversy (Calciopoli), but ended with such joy (World Cup 2006). This is the season that would change Italian football forever. Juventus in particular would never be the same (and they still aren't).

Quattro anni fa nella primavera di calciopoli, John Elkann uscendo dallo stadio, mentre sul terreno di gioco suo cugino Andrea era al fianco di Moggi e Giraudo, disse che non poteva restare insensibile a quello che stava accadendo e ribadiva la sua vicinanza a tecnico e giocatori. Punto.

Morattopoli monta ma il sistema scende in trincea.

La lunga mano dei potenti prova a snobbare le telefonate scoperte dai difensori di Moggi e sfuggite in maniera al quanto stramba al pool di carabinieri e procura di Napoli.

Quattro anni fa, la stampa era in subbuglio, internet aggiornava anche se qualcuno si recava al cesso specificando il colore dell'escremento, mentre i giornali a caratteri cubitali dedicavano pagine intere a ciò che fu definito "moggiopoli".

E non sono soltanto le recenti acquisizioni della difesa di Luciano Moggi nel processo di Napoli a farci gridare che giustizia sia finalmente fatta.

Su segnalazione dell'amico Thomas di Cronache Bianconere, ecco un interessante articolo sul processo calciopoli: Colpo di scena al processo di Calciopoli: sarebbero state trovate le telefonate tra Paolo Bergamo, ex designatore, e i dirigenti interisti (Massimo Moratti, Giacinto Facchetti). Nella penultima udienza, erano state citate alcune telefonate tra Bergamo e Maria Grazia Fazi, sua assistente personale ed ex segretaria dell'Aia (Associazione Italiana Arbitri), in cui si parlava di una cena con Facchetti, all'epoca presidente dell'Inter, che doveva avvenire la sera del 5 gennaio 2005, e di alcune telefonate preparatorie dell'evento, «consumato» proprio alla vigilia di Livorno-Inter 0-2.

Come si dice: quando c'è guerra, c'è guerra per tutti e tutti pagano, soprattutto i poveri.

Il povero per me è Giacinto Facchetti, che lo dico subito a scanso di equivoci, rimane nell'Olimpo della storia del calcio italiano. Punto e senza andare daccapo (su Facchetti).

The Calciopoli scandal's ramifications are still being investigated.

Now, in a new twist, it appears Luciano "Lucky" Moggi, former GM of Juve and the main player in Calciopoli is providing phone tap evidence that purportedly show Inter as part of the scandal, gaming the matches by selecting specific referees who would award favourable decisions.

The Calciopoli scandal which engulfed the Serie in May 2006 exposed the web of match fixing and rigged refereeing in the Italian league. It led to Juventus losing the Scudetto and relegated to Serie B.
