Italy's preparation for Euro 2012 have been thrown into disarray after a police raid this morning at their team camp. The raid was part of "Last Bet", an investigation into match-fixing in Italian soccer.

As a result of the raid, Italian defender Domenico Criscito has withdrawn from the country's Euro 2012 squad.

The Juventus manager has been in the spotlight following disclosures by Antonio Bellavista, a central figure in the match fixing scandal sweeping the Serie, that he had asked a friend to contact Conte when he was at Siena to influence the outcome of the Siena vs Sassuolo match.

Serie A could be in danger of exploding in scandal once again, and this time the damage could be even more lasting.

To recap, earlier this week Atalanta defender Andrea Masiello was arrested on charges of match-fixing while playing for A.S. Bari in 2011. While Masiello was the only once arrested, police are also investigating eight other players in connection with this scandal and have focused their attention on five different matches from last season.

Eighteen matches into the season and Juventus are undefeated and sitting in first place. Everything seems rosy red, or pink (like their away shirt), in Turin. While Juventus find themselves in an ideal situation heading into the second half of the season, their rise to the top has been much due to their own good work as it has been to many of their rivals' failure to truly assert themselves as.

Just several weeks into the summer transfer window Juventus sealed the deal for Swiss defender Stephan Lichtsteiner from Lazio for a fee of 10 million euros. Although the other summer signing, Andrea Pirlo, has received most the praise so far this season, Lichtsteiner has arguably been the more consistent of the two.
