As the Enyemba striker makes his way upfield, a Wydad defender comes hurtling alongside him, pointing, remonstrating and insisting that the ball be put out of play so an injury can be dealt with.

Cotonsport are champions of Cameroon again

Two of Africa's top football championships have been decided in the past few days with Cotonsport maintaining their stranglehold of the Cameroonian domestic game whilst Al Ahly did likewise in Egypt.

Cotonsport, from the north Cameroonian city of Garoua, sealed their tenth league title in fifteen seasons with a 2-1 win against fourth place Unisport Bafang.

El club Al Sadd de Qatar conquistó la edición 2011 del máximo certamen asiático de clubes, que se jugó por primera vez en 1967 como "Asian Champion Club Tournament". It's been a turbulent time in Africa for many of the North African teams involved in the competition.

The African Nations Championship (or CHAN) is unique amongst international football tournaments in that nations are restricted to selecting only domestic players in their squads. The 2011 edition of this tournament begins this week in Sudan with the hosts taking on Gabon in Khartoum.

As the competition only allows the selection of domestically based players the standards of each respective international side is a little different to "full internationals".
