In his second appearance back from an injury, Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu made a fine individual
play to slam home the capper in a 4-0 win over hapless Hamilton. We've got full highlights with
some club commentary, but if you're in a rush, Mo's goal play starts at about the 5:40 mark. And no,
the Cut of the Day is not actually me on guitar - just some dude I found with the same name and a
Alright, I'm being lazy while so many of you are at work. I'm off my ass now. We're in the 20th
minute, Twente up on their derby rivals 1-0 on a Marc Janko goal (4') and our man Gooch is playing
left back.Yes, LEFT back. Twente have an injury crisis at the back right now - only not in the
center.Gimme a moment to get the line-ups to ya, but here we go.
Yes, I'm awake and my chicken pepperoni sub on Parmesan bread which will eventually be jammed with
tons of lettuce and tomato is warming (since I know you were wondering). Here is your squad of 18
for the game, I'll have line-ups in about 30, perhaps a few thoughts, then USMNT player ratings as
MLSS not longer after the final whistle and highlights here when they surface.
My part of NSC will shortly get off its lazy ass, but I offer a few musical tokens to make the
surely agonizing wait seem shorter. Later today, I will drop a non-soccer Top 5 and things will
return to regular programming tomorrow. Plus, keep an eye out at MLSS tomorrow for my latest
Postcard From Europe with Preston Zimmerman.
It's not over yet and we still await the clip, but Clint Dempsey has bagged a corner kick header
for the middle tally in Fulham's 3-0 lead over West Brom...- Greg Seltzer
Currently on the rebound after a slump in form, The Office has no doubt invigorated the use of
several goldmine sitcom laughter schemes.Along with other recent comedies like our old pal Arrested
Development, they've helped influence other shows with things like multi-camera use, lack of laugh
track, overlapping dialogue and the now-ubiquitous mockumentary style.
A pair of big stories out of U.S. Soccer today, with Landon Donovan winning the 2010 Player of the
Year Award for a seventh time. Michael Bradley finished a distant second (169 points to Donovan's
403) and Clint Dempsey (157 pts.) garnered the bronze.Meanwhile, USWNT legend Kristine Lilly has
hung her boots, compelling the formation of a Top 13 list of impressive stats compiled by the
attacker.
[Photo: Gary Bogdon/ESPN]I am still trying my ass off to get the full details, but Benfica outcast
Freddy Adu is auditioning with second Bundesliga survivalists Ingolstadt (who've also been linked
with Kenny Cooper this week).I say 'trying' because no one at the club - and I mean, NO one - is
answering a phone.
Several FC Twente-related websites are claiming that a six-month loan plus purchase option deal for
AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu has been completed, some going so far as to say the club have
confirmed this. However, both Twente and Gooch's agent have told me this is not done (though I get
the impression it could be soon).
Zenit St. Petersburg forward Eugene Starikov has been added to the USMNT camp roster, along with
U-20 "transfer" Juan Agudelo.Word.- Greg Seltzer
You may remember our EPL Celeb Supporter Cool Table, but I have found that I missed one. The good
news is that the inexcusable omission of Idriss Elba did not keep a deep Arsenal "team" from the
"crown".I must confess, I have yet to see The Wire (please notice I said 'yet'). But I am the
biggest RocknRolla fan you'll find, and also loved this guy in American Gangster and The Office,
even The
While we wait for a clip of Jonathan Spector's FA Cup winner for West Ham to surface, let's check
in with USMNT camp.- Greg Seltzer
[Photo: Sky Sports]As promised, the reel from Jonathan Spector's FA Cup winner for West Ham on
Saturday...UPDATE: Hmm. Some sort of embed code problem. Matty has the goods, though.- Greg Seltzer
[Animated GIF: NED1/BigSoccer legend Johan Derksen]Finally, the Eredivisie has another American -
if only for six months. I just spoke to new FC Twente loan defender Oguchi Onyewu, and you can see
what he said over at MLSS shortly.So... who wants to know why it took so long to complete the deal?
From what a birdie told me, Lens tried to hijack the loan move this weekend.
You may or may not have heard about how Évian keeper Quentin Westberg stared down French champs
Marseille in a 3-1 Coupe de France upset on Sunday. Well, either way, I got a quick word with the
Ligue 2 club's #2 and we have the highlight reel. Please do note how his terrific outlet boot
provides an "NHL assist" on the game-winner.
Today's different Studio90 presentation gets out of the way to give you a good look at Camp Cupcake
training. Damn, now I want a cupcake. Devil's food with white icing...- Greg Seltzer
I know it's MLS SuperDraft Day, but the U.S. ladies and gentleman have put out a couple bits of
news as well. The USMNT has announced March dates with Argentina and Paraguay (lucky you,
Nashville!), while the USWNT has unveiled the pre-Four Nations roster.- Greg Seltzer
Here's an interesting little tidbit about one that won't happen this winter that I picked up on the
transfer scoop chase. Apparently, 'Gladbach have had several calls since summer about Michael
Bradley and do not even bother to listen. One of his Euro-reps told me: "The manager says, 'If he
goes, we don't have a chance to stay up'.
Having been slowed considerably by a nasty flu, a new flat search and the unbeatable laws of phone
tag, here's a few things going on that I've yet to complete full reports on, some of which you've
likely heard:- Robbie Findley has won his work permit appeal, but must still complete visa
procedures before he can play for Nottingham Forest.
One last thing before I pass out; FC Twente loan defender Oguchi Onyewu made his debut for the
reserves tonight, going all 90 and scoring a goal in a friendly with nearby German mites Lotte. Not
bad for the "little guy" entering the tallest country on Earth. New nickname: Goochje*? * = the
Dutch equivalent of Goochinho or Goochito, pronounced "Gooch-yuh"- Greg Seltzer
This time, Studio90 hits on the USMNT, the USWNT and the U-20 Men's National Team.- Greg Seltzer
Say it with me: Once again back is the incredible...Let's begin with Melbourne Hearts' Alex Terra,
who dazzles with what is sure to be among the goals of the year when all is said and done. Please

I meant to put this up this morning and it slipped my mind. It's another chance to play fly on
the... erm... some sort of post or something at USMNT training. I didn't think the use of that
phrase all the way, did I? Oh well, can't exactly edit on a post called "Uncut". Enjoy the advanced
scouting.- Greg Seltzer
I don't think anyone else has confirmed this, so let me do it now: everything is signed, sealed and
delivered to send Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones on loan to Blackburn. I'm waiting to hear back
on a few more details and I'll pass those along, as well as posting a report at MLSS.It's no
surprise, but I noticed no one had confirmed it as official done (from what I could tell).
On today's episodes, the USMNT invites the supporters club to training, while the USWNT arrives in
China for Four Nations.- Greg Seltzer
Good ol' Matty unearthed this clip, which gives us a brief look at the Djurgårdens trial of U.S.
defender Gale Agbossoumonde.- Greg Seltzer
I was off at Kicking & Screening with Greg Lalas 'til quite late. Impromptu foosball throwdowns
make the clock go by. Nevertheless, I have risen from my slumber (NOT hangover... pregnant K&S
co-found Rachel Markus and I seemed the only ones not tilting pints) in order to bring forth Edson
Buddle's "Howdy" goal from Ingolstadt 1-1 home draw with David Yelldell's Duisburg last night.
No, this is not the latest doomed cinematic pairing of Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke. We will
eventually have a hat trick of clips here as Clint Dempsey's brace led Fulham to victory and
Jonathan Spector's continued lethality helped West Ham gain a 2-2 draw at Everton. Clips soon... -

This is pretty self-explanatory and entirely me goofing around. There were a few moments I hated to
leave out, - but that's why they call it a Top 5 and not a Top 8. If you don't watch Community,
start.#5 - "All in yo caebza"Talk about elaborate lengths to kick off a semester...#4 - The
Valentine's Day BetPoor Troy.
Please enjoy one of the selections from this weekend's Kicking & Screening Film Festival in
Amsterdam. Maybe some of you have seen it, maybe none of you have. Either way, it's a good
28-minute view. I will try to locate another or two of the weekend selection for you all, but
here's presentation #1. The Referee | Rättskiparen [2010] from Freedom From Choice AB on Vimeo.
I'm really in a hurry at the moment, and I can come back later on to perhaps expand or elaborate on
these items, but for now I just gotta spill 'n run.- Again, please disregard all the UK reports
about Liverpool swapping Paul Konchesky for Clint Dempsey. Again, I've checked. Again, they are
fiction. Again, there is no imminent Deuce departure from Fulham.
Sorry I've been so scarce the last couple of days. I moved and had some interwebs headaches in the
new place. It's all sorted now and I have goodies. And several readers correctly complained that I
don't link my own stories as much anymore, so here I am to also do that, as well as adding a little
spicy flavor to one story in particular.
I've got some bad news, I'm afraid. About an hour ago, I called Eintracht Frankfurt hoping to set
up an interview with Ricardo Clark. I was informed that the handyman had just suffered a broken
cheekbone in training and will miss about a month.I winced through the entire conversation with
their spokesman; does that not sound like one of the most annoyingly painful injuries or what?
This morning, Kicker reports that it was Fenerbahçe, and not Galatasaray, who has had an offer
accepted by 'Gladbach for Michael Bradley. They also say Aston Villa have come in with a loan
offer, which the player favors. And now you know why I didn't have a Gala report; their offer was
not good enough.
I have a report waiting in the in-box for the MLSS editor that wakes up first, but I can go ahead
and spill the gist here. The back-side ribcage injury Oguchi Onyewu suffered against PSV in midweek
cup action will keep him out of tomorrow's clash with F-word, but Twente do expect him back in full
training some time next week.
A few readers are freaking out because Jonathan Spector isn't dressed today, worried that he will
move away just as he's stamping his name in the West Ham line-up.Relax, take it easy... he just has
a strained hammy. No move this window, I promise.- Greg Seltzer
That question is addressed to Motherwell, who today got fitted for a custom made, truly sick Mo Edu
opener in Rangers' 2-1 victory. Our man dialed long distance on this one. Clip to come...UPDATE:
It's not a half hour in and Fulham is putting the mud-stomp to Spurs. It's 3-0 already and actually
could be worse for the visitors - as in much worse, as in legit could be six.
... is gonna be a real goodies day. But I can't start spilling just yet. I only tell you now to
make you go crazy with wonder all night, because I am a straight bastard.MWAHAHAHAHAHA!- Greg
