If there was any argument to be made for having the New England Revolution establish ties with a
European club, perhaps the Michael Videira saga is the most convincing thus far.
Sometime after the third hour of the afternoon during the January
18th MLS SuperDraft, the New England Revolution took a gamble.
The MLS Supplemental Draft will take place today at 3pm and the results of the draft are to be
revealed after 4pm. For those who care, Buzz over at 3rddegree released his list of the best of the
rest out there that weren't taken in last week's draft. Even for those who don't care, the
Supplemental draft [.
Drawing Fouls and Creating Set Pieces: Eddie Johnson's usefulness?
For weeks, maybe months now all the buzz seems to be about Kenny Cooper's non selection to the
National Team by Bob Bradley. I understand most in the blogosphere share my view that Cooper's
selection for the national team should have been automatic by this point.
No clever play on words in this post. They seemed lost on someone who seems intent on finding fault
with us at every turn in our post about Marvell Wynne. (IP)
Anyway....
Could "Emo" be on the mo to Monaco? (hehe)
This comes to us from a notable US soccer/MLS journalist who wishes to remain anonymous:
I'm hearing some buzz that Monaco may make a bid for Kljestan this upcoming week.
Buzz Carrick's 3rd Degree site is reporting Kenny Cooper who recently has become a cult hero to US
fans seeking better striking options is being watched closely by Norwegian super club Rosenborg BK.
Cooper has played well for FC Dallas...

Hello all. With the day winding down, here are some tidbits to pass along after another eventful
Tuesday in the soccer world:

U.
Yanks Abroad reports that Landon Donovan's agent failed to deny a Sky Sports report concerning a
possible move by the American to the EPL.
They then report this:
Donovan was recently quoted by the English media giant as saying, "The older I get
and the more I play, the more I'm yearning for that highest level I can play at.
Received by email this morning:
Hello, I Wish to stay anonymous.DO NOT RESPOND I am flooded at TFC right now.The agent for Toronto
FC right back Marvell Wynne has confirmed that the U.S. Olympic standout has received some late
interest from European clubs.
Though unable to confirm any specific interested parties, I and many others learned that
the Pittsburgh native has had initial contact with multiple clubs on the continent.
You know it would happen but there is another Kenny Cooper update for us all now. Thanks to the
always wonderful Buzz Carrick at 3rd Degree, he is reporting that FC Dallas have turned down the
offer from Wales side Cardiff City despite the league accepting the offer. The club gets the final
say in [.

Back To Work: It's back to work today (today or tomorrow!) for QPR players...The
players will be joined by the four new sigings made since the end of last season, with three more
supposedly coming this week (according to both messageboard rumours - and QPR Sporting Director
Gianni Paladini!
There's a buzz on the streets of Valencia this weekend that has nothing to do with our beloved
Valencia CF. What could it possibly be?
If you're an F-1 Formula One racing fan, you know that Valencia hosts the European Grand Prix
this weekend, an opportunity for the city to show off a little, show the world how far they've come
the last few years.
In their first trip to Havana in 61 years, the U.S. Men's National Team defeated Cuba, 1-0, to
move into first place in Group 1 in the Semifinal Round of FIFA World Cup qualifying. Clint Dempsey
provided the game-winner with an opportunistic strike in the 40th minute to give the U.S. the three
valuable points.
I'm buzzing from that France performance. I wrote about it a bit already, but the buzz still
hasn't subsided.
I'm wary of getting carried away with hyperbole, but Yoann Gourcuff was a revelation, I thought.
Starting in that most coveted of positions, central attacking midfield, the number 10 position, the
Zidane role, he had a fine debut, with any number of marauding runs forward.
Euro 2008 is on the horizon and obviously there isn't much of a buzz around because England have
failed to qualify. I am sure that the hosts will be rather glad that the cohorts of lager swilling
English louts will not be descending upon their streets in June. The dire football England have
played over recent years will be missed about as much as our supporters.
Like an old friend you haven't seen for a few months it is invigorating to see that football is
back (even if it is only the preseason). It would be nice though if we, the supporters, could
actually get some coverage of the matches.
Once again No TV, No Radio and now Melbourne Victory seems to have dispensed with their text

Liverpool Under-18s will continue their preparations for the new Academy league season when they
host Plymouth Argyle in a friendly match this afternoon.
Boss Hughie McAuley feels his squad will have benefitted from the experience they gained during
what was a tough 2007-08 campaign and is confident he will have a much stronger group of players at
his disposal this time around.
Rafa Benitez has revealed there is a new buzz around Melwood following the return of our Olympic
trio – but neither Javier Mascherano nor Lucas will feature against Standard Liege.
The Champions League qualifier comes too soon for the pair following their Beijing exploits, though
both are fighting for a place in the starting XI versus Aston Villa on Sunday.
"It's happened quite quickly today."
"We are going to try and bring good players to the club and it is a notice of our intent and
we'll try and get him.
"There is a real buzz and expectation and hopefully this time it won't be a false dawn and we
can establish ourselves as a top six club.
We are just under a fifth of the way through the season and it's already been a
rollercoaster ride. New manager Graham Westley was in his second spell in charge of the club and
had assembled a strong squad. After a good pre-season, expections were high and the
"buzz" was back at Broadhall Way. That good feeling though [.
