I'm not entirely certain how busy I'll be today at my day job so tonight's picks are going to
come quickly here. Three games in league play plus two Canadian Championship matches (I won't be
picking those however).
Two of the hottest teams in MLS put their lengthy unbeaten streaks on the line, as the surging
San Jose Earthquakes take on in-form D.C. United in the headliner on a busy night in MLS.
The New England Revolution and Colorado Rapids kick things off at Gillette Stadium, where Benny
Feilhaber is back in the starting lineup for the Revs, and Colorado has had to make some changes to
the back line.
Tonight was a busy night of soccer. RSL hosting Chivas USA, the USMNT U23s taking on Canada, and my
hometown BYU Cougars hosting the University of Denver Pioneers in a preseason friendly. Pollyanna
and I went to the BYU game (it's hard to argue with a game a mile from your house), and I tried to
track the RSL game at RSLKickOff while Pollyanna manned the camera and I watched and took notes on
the game in front of us.
Kobe Bryant had a busy night yesterday. Not only did he break Michael Jordan's All-Star game
scoring record, he helped lead the Western Conference to a 152-149 victory over the Eastern
Conference. And on top of that, he suffered a broken nose.
Kobe Bryant broke his nose after a hard foul by Dwyane Wade.
A busy night for England's Championship on Tuesday catching up on games postponed by weather over
the weekend. Jonathan Spector was in the starting lineup for Birmingham City, drawing 0-0 with
Hull. Birmingham finished with three shots on goal to Hull's one. "When you're not at your best it
is important that you don't lose," Birmingham manager Chris Hughton said.
Friday night was a busy night in professional indoor soccer as the MISL Whichita Wings hosted the
Missouri Comets and in PASL action the Cincinnati Kings battled Louisville Lightining while the
Turlock Express faced off against the Revolution Tijuana.

Tonight's a rather busy night in American soccer -- particularly for a Wednesday. The Union-Fire
match is one of three MLS matches set to take place tonight, not to mention tonight's second legs
of Seattle-San Francisco FC and FC Dallas-Alianza in CONCACAF Champions League play and the
Barcelona-Chivas Guadalajara match taking place at Sun Life Stadium.
BARNSLEY v FEYENOORDSaturday 23rd July 2011
The above fixture has now been cancelled due to the thug element that follows the Dutch side. This
was what I read in yesterday's Sun at work. A bit pissed off now as I was looking forward to to
seeing one of the famous names in Dutch football in action.

It's a generally accepted rule that when things looks their darkest, a hero will rise. Tonight
in Washington, D.C. the Dynamo's hero rose in the 89th minute in the form of Brian Ching whose goal
help save Houston from another disappointing loss.
After Will Bruin hit the post and Danny Cruz missed a wide open net early in the second half,
the deck appeared stacked against Houston when Charlies Davies put United ahead 2-1 in the XX
minute.
Sometimes, you just know.
In yesterday's match preview, I tried to convey that feeling as well as possible without
explicitly saying it, so as not to seem overconfident or as if I was underestimating the
opposition, or in other words, put the 'jinx' on.
But just like I had the unrelenting feeling that the goal would eventually come against Everton
(and on a related note, that the lovely blonde-haired, blue-eyed lady I was watching with is 'The
Special One'), I just knew that last night was going to be a special one for United.
Tampines Rovers are left sitting pretty at the top of the SLeague after the champions from the last
two seasons, Etoile and SAFFC, fought out a 1-1 draw last night at Jalan Besar.
Anthony Moulin gave Etoile the lead just after half time but Fazrul Nawaz levelled things on the
hour mark.
Busy night for the ref with nine yellows and one red.
United took on Aston Villa on Tuesday on what was a busy night of Premier League action. United ran
out deserved 3-1 winners, thanks to a brace from Rooney and a brilliant effort from the player of
the season, Nemanja Vidic. Darren Bent ensured his new club made a real game of it when scoring
what turned out to be a consolation goal, at that point in the contest it was 2-0.
