I'm willing to bet your gut reaction to the news that Sergio Busquets got well and truly
knobbled in a challenge with Real Sociedad's Carlos Martinez during the home side's 2-1 win at the
Nou Camp last night was somewhere along the lines of 'what goes around, comes around' but that
doesn't make the deep laceration that the Barca midfielder suffered any less grotesque.

A brilliant counter attacking goal at the very end of the first half is standing strong between
Barcelona and the Champions League final in Munich after Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory at Stamford
Bridge tonight. It was kind of a harsh and unlucky night with players wasting gilt edged chances,
hitting the post on a couple of occasion and on all other occasion the Chelsea defense standing
strong.
Where do I start on one of the greatest nights of our history considering the circumstances. Up
against it before the game, written off and with members of the press and media thinking that
Barcelona just needed to turn up to win the game, Chelsea produced a performance that is right up
there with the best of them.

For today's introduction we are going back into the mists of time, when men were men and not
floppy overcooked strings of spaghetti like Busquets, Nani and Pepe.
England were World Champions and Man Utd had recently won the European Cup. For
the younger reader who has grown up in the Sky era, there can be no understanding of the excitement
and national pride that both events stirred.
AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic will surely be fined and suspended for his comments after today's
Champions League quarter-final saying that he was left feeling "disgusted" after Barcelona scored
from two first-half penalties.
Ibrahimovic echoed comments last season by former Inter Milan and current Real Madrid coach Jose
Mourinho in feeling that Barcelona's European success has been helped by match officials following
a disputed penalty decision.
Following a series of incidents that have drawn accusations of blatant diving and scorn from
fans around the world, Manchester United winger Ashley Young has admitted failure in his attempt to
design rocket-propelled football boots.
"When I joined Manchester United, I knew I had to improve my game," Young told reporters.

It might not have been pretty, but some gritty defending combined with a clinical finish from
Didier Drogba has given Chelsea the upper hand in their UEFA Champions League semifinal against
Barcelona.
Chelsea held serve on a rainy night at Stamford Bridge in the first leg with a 1-0 win over
Barcelona.
1. Unbeilevable. Just about the most dramatic Champions League semi-final you could imagine. 2.
Suddenly £50million is looking like a bit of a snip. But you know what he was thinking as he went
through one-on-one. 3. The prospect of Gerard Pique heading off for medical checks and Shakira

An extremely resilient Chelsea side fought against all odds to defeat FC Barcelona 3-2 on
aggregate and progress to the UEFA Champions League Final in Munich on May 19.
The Blues, who carried over a 1-0 advantage to Camp Nou from their first leg home win, clawed
back from 2-0 down on the night to draw 2-2 with a very late equalizer.
El Clasico might have taken place at Camp Nou on Saturday, but a true classic unfolded there
Tuesday.
Despite being reduced to 10 men in the first half and facing a deficit, Chelsea stunned
Barcelona to advance to the UEFA Champions League final after a 2-2 draw (3-2 win on
aggregate).

So to tidy that up, that is four seasons in charge winning three League titles, two UEFA
Champions Leagues, and one Copa del Rey and yet, it seems, Pep Guardiola is likely to walk away
from Barcelona after all but conceding the league to Real Madrid, and getting knocked out of the
Champions League by Chelsea's bus.

Barcelona kicked off 2012 the way they finished 2011: with goals.
On the back of a 4-0 FIFA Club World Cup Championship victory over Santos and a 9-0 demolition
of C.E. L'Hospitalet to wrap up a memorable 2011, Barcelona returned to action without missing a
beat, defeating Osasuna 4-0 at the Camp Nou in their first match of the new year.
FC Barcelona continued with their winning streak at home in La Liga with a very hard fought 4-2
victory against an inspired Real betis side. The match started very brightly for us going 2-0 up
within 12 minute, then turned into a nightmare when Real Betis equalised early into second
half.
Much of the top o'the headlines furor due to the Luis Suarez and John Terry racism issues has
seemingly boiled over, the print now focusing on the Andy Carroll rubbishness issues which have
been brought to light through Luis' siesta, but it's now at least time for a solid wrap on the
situation.
FC Barcelona secured a semi-final birth in this season's Copa Del Rey after knocking out holders
Real Madrid with a sensational 2-2 draw. Barcelona who went into the break with a 2-0 lead had to
hold off a sensational fightback from Mourinho's boys to secure the semi-final birth. To an extent
we had to say that we were lucky after putting up the worst defensive display of the season, and
courtesy of the fact that Madrid missed a number of chances.
So, in case you have resided in a cave on the large rock in outer space formerly known as planet
Pluto, Real Madrid played Barcelona in the 2nd leg of the Copa del Rey. Based on secondhand
accounts, 'twas a most enjoyable spectacle. Teams scored goals. Teams kicked soccer balls. Teams
ran. At the end of 90 minutes, the two teams tied 2-2.
FC Barcelona could have handed over the Liga title to Real Madrid unofficially after drawing
away at 17th placed Villareal. The lead at the top of the summit is seven points which could be too
much for our boys to climb. Already with a very depleted side, we weren't helped by Guardiola's
decision making all night.
Awards are for the vain folk that feel the need to be rewarded for greatness. An award, usually
a piece of precious metal, is handed to an individual, usually a sentient homo sapiens, based on
that individual's contributions to a particular endeavor. Subjectivity underlines the entire
process. Humans clasp at the material to the detriment of the abstract.
FC Barcelona took a good step towards proceeding to Copa Del Rey final with a 1-1 draw at
Mestella. Considering how tough we have found recently in Valencia, this draw is as good as a win -
especially because of the away goal. In the 27th minute Jonas put Valencia ahead, but Carles Puyol
equalised for Barca in the 36th minute.

Barcelona rallied from a goal down to ensure a 1-1 draw against Valencia in the first leg of
their semi final showdown in the Copa del Rey.
La Mestalla provided all of the hostility the Catalans could handle, as Valencia came
out of the gates in a surging frenzy, mounting unrelenting pressure in the opening minutes trying
to force a crack in Barcelona's defensive armor.

Lionel Messi scored one and assisted another as Barcelona successfully fought off their San
Sebastian rivals in a freezing, sub-zero encounter at the Camp Nou.
Pep Guardiola rolled out the reserves for this one, choosing to rest key starters ahead of his
team's Copa del Rey semi final clash with Valencia on Wednesday.

Once the blonde-haired, blue-eyed prince of Spanish football, Fernando Torres has, in the space
of a year, turned into a £50million flop.
Since moving to Chelsea from Liverpool, the attacker has seriously lost his mojo and now his
impotence in the Premier League has seen him fall out of favour with World Champions Spain.

FC Barcelona managed to reduce the lead on top of the table to seven points with a brilliant 3-1
victory against Sporting Gijon. For a Barca fan it was a memorable victory as we had to play the
entire second half with ten man following Pique's expilsion. Iniesta gave us the lead in the first
half, Gijon equalised after Pique's send off but Keita restored the lead with a magical goal and
Xavi completed the scoreline.
Barcelona might still be behind Real Madrid in the league table but they are still continuously
showing some quality performances on the pitch as it was once again shown on Saturday when they
defeated Sporting Gijon 3-1 despite already going a man down.
Gerard Pique's sending off looked to cause problem for the Catalan giant but goals from Seydou
Keita and Xavi in the last few minutes simply ended Gijon's brave effort at Camp Nou.

Barcelona overcame Gerard Pique's 46th minute red card with two late goals, lifting the
defending champions past Sporting Gijon to a 3-1 victory on Saturday night.
The game kicked off without Barca talisman Lionel Messi on the pitch, as the Argentine served a
one-match suspension alongside Sergio Busquets in the stands.
FC Barcelona simply blew off Leverkusen at a brilliant night at the Camp Nou. The 7-1 victory
has to be a stern message to all our challengers in Europe this season. With a 3-1 away lead we
were almost there in the quarter final. But following last night's Arsenal's comeback against
Milan, there were some nerves.
Since Sergio Busquets was actually booked for diving back in November, it's all gone a bit
haywire for him. Barcelona are 10 points behind Real Madrid in the table, he suffered a real injury
that looked pretty nasty and during Sunday's 2-0 win over Racing Santander, he almost had his ankle
snapped in the 23rd minute when Khouma Babacar stomped on it.

Another two-goal performance from Lionel Messi saw Barcelona topple Racing Santander 2-0 at
El Sardinero on Sunday afternoon, closing the gap at the Primera Division summit
to ten points with eleven matches to go.
FC Barcelona notched up five consecutive victory in the league for the first time in the 2011-12
season with a 2-0 victory at Sevilla. First half goals from Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi, which
may go down as one of the contender of "Goal of the Season" were enough to see a tricky fixture
with against a side we always struggle.
FC Barcelona cut down the lead at the top of the table to three points with a very hard working
2-0 victory against Real Mallorca. A brilliant free kick Messi and another goal from Pique was
enough to see off the Mallorca challenge. It was a very tough match - having to play on a horribly
dry pitch and also to have play with ten men for the last thrity five minutes after Thiago was sent
off.

Barcelona maintained the pressure on Real Madrid with an impressive 2-0 victory over a
well-drilled Mallorca side at the Iberostar Stadium on Saturday evening to record their seventh
consecutive win.
FC Barcelona has landed in Milan to face the holding Serie A Champiosn in the first leg of
Quarter Finals of this year's UEFA Champions League. Barca fans were given a good news of Ibrahim
Afellay being fit and he has made it into the squad which will face Milan tomorro at the San
Siro.
FC Barcelona was held to a goal less draw at the San Siro stadium by AC Milan in the first leg
of Champions League Quarter Final. A brilliant defensive display from Milan, coupled with a
horrible pitch was good enough to negate any Barca threat. Arsene Wenger did complain about the
state of this pitch, but I never throught it was this bad.
Those are what shall forever be known as Busquet eyes.
The gent is Brahian Aleman of Defensor Sporting that there is irony and he is, to put it mildly,
a diver extrodinaire. Ascending not only to the Diving Hall of Fame, but to the Jacques Cousteau
Wing, housing busts for the likes of Drogba, Gilardino, Ronaldo, Pederson and the aforementioned
Busquets.
Tonight's Champions League fixture between Barcelona and AC Milan will be the litmus test for
both Pep Guardiola and Massimiliano Allegri as they prepare the team's for what is probably the
biggest game of the season.
Milan captain Ambrosini has revealed that they won't man mark Barca's Argentine forward Lionel
Messi.

A couple of penalties from Lionel Messi and a goal from Andres Iniesta saw Barcelona dispatch AC
Milan 3-1 in Tuesday's second leg and on aggregate and move into the semifinals of the UEFA
Champions League for the fifth year in a row.
Milan drew level at 1-1 on the half-hour mark when Antonio Nocerino capitalized on the visitor's
first real attack, putting the Italian side in the driver's seat temporarily based on away
goals.
